Those Coyote engines, for their displacement, actually sounds INSANE. And they still have that very nice American crossplane "smaller" V8 burble to them!! This new 302 with some Steeda magic... simply insane!!
I have the same h-pipe on the performance pack 24 gt with the active exhaust. The only think I changed exhaust wise was the steeda h-pipe. Give it about a month to break in and it sets into a deep crisp smooth growl. If you are really wanting a surround sound experience wait till you put the dual k&n air filters with no carbon traps. This motor has a nice growl when you get on it from the front and that beautiful 5.0 mustang sound out the back. Damn, just thinking about it makes me want to go for a drive !!!! Sounds good! By the way you don't have to cut any of the plastic retainers to remove the carbon traps...just rotate it as you pull a piece of it out and take your time....no need to cut anything!
@@Zander13Productions It'll have a different tone in 2000 miles time. It won't be as loud as at first, but will have a deeper rumble. I love mine even more now I've put 4000 miles on it
Going back to my 93’ GT FOX with Flomaster exhaust, with an H Pipe as well, 5,0’’s have always had such a distinct sound. Can recognize one from literally , a mile away. I had a 19’ GT PP1 with AE and I currently have a 21 GT PP11. Both years were 401a packages so loaded. I bought the 21’ sight unseen. This dealership just a short drive to northern VA had the exact spec o wanted, or so I thought… Ox White over Showstopper Red. Since it was 401a and premium and PP1, I assumed it had AE. A $55k mistake. I didn’t find out until I was driving it home. I didn’t even test drive it cause I had a 19’ same exact car just black not white. It was on showroom floor so I didn’t bother test driving it either, rather, more accurately, I couldn’t test drive it. It was in a tight spot and they weren’t willing to pull It out without knowing they sold the car…Who specs a car to the gills and leaves off the most important mod? Anyways, I could do aftermarket exhaust but even if I do, it won’t ever sound as good as my 19’ or your car here. The AE system does more than lower or raise the decibels. It produces a much tighter sound. The AE on these produces a more robust, focused exhaust note. And what FORD have focused is a brilliant tone. Honestly, IMO, we all have one, you are going to be hard pressed to beat the tone of an AE 5.0L aftermaket. Just going off the richness and fullness of the tone of these AE cars. You can def enhance it like you have here with the H pipe but you need the AE in the first place so you have something to enhance. Just sounds more refined than a 5.0 with no AE. I have had both. And I still have clips of my 19 with AE and it sounds wassaayyyy tighter. Like a snare drum. Non AE cars rattle more. They have a tin sound to them. H Pipe is the way I would go too. to me, sounds much more refined. Sounds great man! Good pick
Sounds fantastic! I have the same build as you, only difference being the wheels are silver on mine. This is a tempting change. If only I didn’t live in a crowded urban area to actually enjoy doing this mod.
Sounds nice with a deep tone likely from the redesigned Gen 4 exhausts headers I believe Steeda also added Kook Long tube headers that picked up an additional 30.horsepower. Maybe a future bolt on.
H sounds good but I really think the X sounds better all around. You definitely need to hear both in person. The power gain from the H pipe compared to the X was negligible. Especially if you plan on going with long tube headers the X pipe is the way to go in regard to sound. Just my opinion.
S650 stock cans sound a bit louder. My 18Gt had H-pipe to borla S type axel backs. Sounded just like this on video. It was perfect. Ran that setup for around 2 years before the Shelby. H pipe with stock cans on Shelby is great at idle too. Sounds same as X at high rpm. That slight drop you did and the white color with dark wheels sits clean. Take care 🤙🏾
To be honest, I couldn't really tell much difference. After having a few different mustangs over the years, I'm actually a proponent of sticking with the factory active exhaust. It's pretty well-engineered and I feel my money is better spent elsewhere.

The main reason for losing the resonator is weight. For the GT, the aftermarket exhaust systems all seem to have figured out how to bring out a louder, deeper sound without the drone. As for the ecoboost, I removed the resonator and stock exhaust and replaced with a custom cat back exhaust with a single centerline muffler and 2.5” pipes, terminating with 4” chrome tips.
