I don't think it's possible to get it back (or, get it in the first place) using RBA either :'( It'd be so cool if there was a genuine way to do precise bitmasking for RBA. Considering the amount of things already possible in this game that require crazy coincidences in the code (e.g. Ganondoor) asking for more is being greedy, but it'd be really cool. Having to understand bitwise AND/OR/XOR/shift to accomplish something feels very OoT speedrun style y'know? ;)

Then sometime later on, finds a compass that tells him what he already knows and should have a note for and acts like its new information lmao. So on that note about people falling asleep at their computer, I haven't had it happen to me since I got diagnosed with sleep apnea and started CPAP therapy. If you're falling asleep at your desk after a full nights sleep in the middle of the day get a sleep study done dammit
I had a dream where Majora's Mask had been ported into a randomizer, and Ganon had been replaced with an A Link to the Past Ganon who could only be damaged with spin attacks but the arena was the same (Ganondorf just turned into that Ganon instead of Ocarina's Ganon with otherwise the same animation up to that point). He also flew around and chased Link around while zapping at him from the air. If I saw how that resolved I don't remember it, but I think he'd either just stop after a while or you knock him down with Light Arrows and the attack itself just spits up magic jars and arrows from time to time so that you never get jammed. I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I thought it was cool and it kind of ties into a comment I made on another video where I said that I think it'd be rad as hell if rando ever gained support for custom bosses and dumping Ganon/dorf into the random boss pool so that you have to beat whichever pair ended up at the top of Ganon's Tower instead of beat Ganon. Besides, if Mah-Dry-Bread has taught me anything it's that comments are good for the RUclips algorithm.

(In vanilla, I think, the only hookshottable items are Skulltula Tokens, and the replacements for the tokens in Rando keep their properties.) Similar reason to why Boomerang wouldn't have worked on this one, as he pointed out in the video. Silver Rupee replacements keep properties of Silver Rupees, and Silver Rupees can't be grabbed with Boomerang, unlike most other freestanding items.

100% is in routing hell at the moment due to a recent discovery and nobody really wants to route it. In the meantime, ZFG has been trying out different rando settings.
(autistic rant incoming) Rando imo is comparable to e.g. playing an instrument or learning to play snooker; it requires a lot of time and effort to learn and understand, but as a reward you get a very fun, fulfilling hobby that can also double as a neat party trick for the right audience. Speedrunning requires a *lot* of skill, but once a semi-optimal route is found, it's mostly grinding out a preset path until a new, "more optimal" route is found. Rando on the other hand requires much more improvisation, and a deep knowledge of often obscure and subtle mechanics of the game, in order to work around potential tricky situations. It's ideal for streaming because emergent scenarios and on-the-spot improvisation are very well suited to the format. As a result, it requires more effort/familiarity on behalf of the audience to understand, which understandably can seem rather pointless or bewildering. Different strokes, as they say. Even if it's a new viewer that knows almost nothing about the game, hearing chickens shouting "WAAAAAAH" and watching someone try to hover up a wall using carefully-timed explosions before they mess up in a slapstick manner is entertaining regardless ;p
Not trying to be negative but is anyone else just checking back every couple weeks waiting for ZFG to resume speedruns? When Hundo went into a depression of not having a route I thought surely it'd only be a couple months 🫤
