The main difference is that magic can be found in X isn't guaranteed to spawn whereas there will always be a x is on the path of magic hint with these settings
The "path to magic" could refer to an item in logic that you need to get to magic. For example if magic was locked behind bow, the "path to magic" hint could be referring to bow's location. HOWEVER since he is using No Logic settings, this guarantees, in his case, that hint is always referring to magic itself.
Normally the path tells you just a random area in the chain of logic-intended areas to get magic. But, with No Logic, there are no paths, so the only required location is exactly where it is.
It surprises me that ZFG didn't know that most adult items don't work on the big Octorok, i'm pretty sure a jumpslash from the mastersword works but anything else doesn't.
Having to farm almost 400 rupees for 3 different items in a row is dumb and further proves my point about the increased cost for items being negative. If you leave it at 300 max you still have some items that require 2 wallets but not so many and it respects your time more. I hope he went back on this at some point, I should check the vod channel

Kokiri Tunic has no function. I forget it even changes tunic color to not have it equipped. The boots however... without boots you can't move, at least not in a normal sense.

He allows skips for the child dungeons since they don't actually have BKs.
