- Welcome to a sneak peak at Scale Town, Alberta. We headed out to Scale Town for some winter maintenance and road prep. The snow was deep and the wind was cold but we got the roads cleared. The Bobcat is a Toy grade RC with some hobby grade up grades and mods. It still needs some work but its getting there and its definitely tricky to drive LOL. The Cabover body is a Team Raffee Company hardbody and what a well crafted body too. It is a very thick plastic about 1/8 - 3/16 thick with lots of detail but no interior, so I made one. The chassis is a SCX-10 extended with third axle and the hardbody is a perfect SCX fit. I custom built the flatbed with 3/8 plywood and some aluminium angle. I am running a dual motor set up in the beast to push all the snow and what ever else is in the way. The BlackSmith Carpentry shop was hand built in my garage during the cold snap here in Calgary and the cabin you may recognize from about 2-3 years ago. Coming into the rc hobby from model railroading I appreciate the details. Your videos, scenes and story lines are great! As a fairly new subscriber I am still working my way through your videos and most of them are outstanding. Another reason I like them is the use of the natural sounds rather than dubbing in music; it adds to the scale feeling.
Thanks bud, glad you like the detail, its a lot of fun to build and produce :-) I do have some videos with music in them but they where filmed with a waterproof GoPro, so the audio sounds like its in a fish tank, so I put music in to cover up. Cheers

Amazing ,when i was 8 years old we play such scenes with our small Tonka toys,and now we can do with our RCs but what you do with your RCs is so incredibel nice!

Great video! You make your videos is real as possible, and you do an awesome job! That scale town and all the small details that make it look real are mind-blowing! And I love the choice of tools on the bench and a glass of beer and all the little things like diecast cars on the shelves behind glass that make everything looks so real! I mean even threw in and out house, talk about taking s#*t to the next level of realism! Just a ballpark estimate, how many hours do you think you have in building scale town, Bridges and all the other out buildings and all the scale details inside? Truly impressive and I take my hat off to you! Keep the great videos coming! Oh and forgot to mention how much detail you put into each RC to make it look as real as possible for each type of vehicle!😀👍
Thanks Steven, we have a lot of fun making these videos and trying to make them look scale and real. As far as how many hours.... lots and lots, I couldn't even guess. I just get into a project to build and what feels like a couple hours, turns into 5-6 before I know it LOL. I've stayed up WAY past my bedtime on a few nights hahaha. Good thing at 44 years I dont need much sleep ;-) Cheers bud

Ya they are a toy grade RC for sure, I had to do some modding and upgrading. It will never be like the RC4WD quality but its cheaper LOL.

The Bobcat was a dealers only thing I believe, but I dont think they make them anymore. I got mine on Kijiji, hope that helps, Cheers
