The first upload got copyright claimed & blocked by Paramount Pictures/RUclips even though it went through all the checks and showed no issues. I think it might have been manually claimed. So this is the re-edited version with significantly less footage and sound. These copyright claims are really getting out of hand and it's disappointing especially considering a lot of other channels had no problem with their uploads despite showing more footage.

The scene between Iceman and Maverick was one of the most amazing I've seen. Val Kilmer said more with a finger point than most actors do with a paragraph of dialog. When Tom Cruise starts to fall apart when Kilmer says "it's time to let go.", by far the best acting I've seen out of Cruise in years. How he's trying to hold it together while explaining to Iceman what he's going through seemed so authentic. One aspect I appreciated was the 180 degree emotional turns in the movie. Ice and Mav's scene ending with "Who's the better pilot?" and Amelia's "just don't break her heart again." stand out. Your emotions are turned one way, and in the next minute with one line, you're flipped 180 degrees in the opposite direction.

    Top Gun Maverick trivia
The World War II P-51 Mustang seen in this movie is actually Tom Cruise's own airplane. Cruise is an accomplished pilot in real life.
According to Miles Teller, the cast got to choose their own call signs. He chose "Rooster" because it was in the same family as "Goose."
The roof of the shack next to Ed Harris wasn't supposed to be lifted when Maverick flies past. However, they only had one chance to shoot it, so this was a very lucky occurrence. (As the Darkstar is only a non-flying mockup, the actual plane being used was cloned out and an image of the Darkstar was composited over it.)
According to Miles Teller, three of the six new actors threw up every day of filming in the jets.
At the insistence of Tom Cruise, minimal green screen and CGI aerial shots exist in the film, and even the close up cockpit shots were taken during real in-flight sequences. This meant that much of the cast had to undergo extensive G-force training sessions to withstand the physical demands of G-force pressures during flights.
Val Kilmer told Entertainment Weekly that it was like no time had passed when he was on set with Tom Cruise again, and it was fun too. 'We blew a lot of takes laughing so much,' the 62-year-old stated. 'It was really fun and special.'
The film is dedicated to the memory of original Top Gun (1986) director Tony Scott, who died by suicide on August 19, 2012 at the age of 68. He had been developing his own version of a sequel before his death.
The actors playing pilots not only had to film themselves, turning the camera on and off, they also had to touch up their own makeup, adjust their lighting, and handle their own sound. Sometimes the director had to wait on the ground for hours for the actors to return with the footage. Adjustments would be made after viewing the footage, and the actors would have to go back up for another take.
After extensive flight training and on-the-ground preparation, actors joined professional pilots to hit the skies for 90 minutes at a time, a few times per day, and had to hit their marks, check lighting and makeup, remember their eyelines, and turn on the cameras themselves while airborne. This meant that Claudio Miranda, who relied on the sun as his primary light source, prepped each day by studying flight paths and weather patterns in order to set camera exposures before liftoff. With no live film feed to track on the ground, it made for some nervous waiting periods for Miranda. "It got really nerve-racking because it's really hard to predict," he said. "I had to set one exposure basically, because we're not auto exposing the cameras and they're really specific. So I'd have to look 50 miles [ahead] where they're going and know the terrain, how deep they're going to go, and then set the exposure and hope on the way over there the weather doesn't change."
Since Val Kilmer can no longer speak due to throat cancer, a company named Sonantic developed the voice AI that Kilmer uses. It learned how to mimic Kilmer's voice, including the iconic way that he himself talks. The revelation that Kilmer used voice AI came during a New York Post interview with his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer. In the interview, she explained how they dubbed the voice AI over Kilmer's acting to bring his scenes to life. "They were able to dub him with his own voice, which is amazing," Mercedes explained in the interview. "It's such a technical feat, being able to engineer his voice that way, that it's an extension of the technical feats of the film."
Tom Cruise personally designed a 3-month aviation training course for the new actors to become ready to handle riding in an F-18.
The shirtless beach football montage had to be shot twice because Tom Cruise did not find the first version good enough. The re-shoot placed additional pressure on the actors to get their ripped bodies back to re-shoot the scene. Cast member Glen Powell recounted, "We shot it and that night we all went out for milkshakes and tater tots. Just like splurge and everybody grabbed a beer. And a week later Tom's like, "We gotta shoot it again. It wasn't good enough. We're gonna shoot it again. And then everybody's back in the gym again, day and night." The sequence is being used very heavily to promote the movie after a similar scene in the original film became iconic and an audience favorite. The original film showed an intense beach volleyball game
Glen Powell admitted there was a healthy macho rivalry onset among the male actors to out-do each others' physiques in the shirtless beach football sequence as there is a lot of posing and flexing involved in the scene. He said, "The amount of male anxiety around taking their shirts off! The gyms were packed day and night. It was a degree of insecurity that you have never seen ever."
The opening text matches that of the original movie, ("On March 3, 1969, the United States Navy established an elite school for the top one percent of its pilots. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world.") except "insure" has now been changed to "ensure" and "men and women" was added
If you would like more trivia here is link www.imdb.com/title/tt1745960/trivia/
p.s it is annoying about these copy claims or it is also annoying that I have to redo this trivia but anyway keep up with the great work Shan 👊

You asked how they filmed some of the flying scenes, the director and crew made space in the cockpit by removing unnecessary hardware. They installed 6k Sony Venice digital cinema cameras with lightweight lenses and the new Rialto system extending the camera's sensor blocks, allowing for film to be shot over the actors' shoulders and in toward the plane. So the actors, following the director and stunt coordinator, were partly filming, flying the aircraft and acting all at the same time.

To find a way to bring the F-14 back and let it be the hero again is great writing. BTW the only country that still flies F-14s is Iran.... a little insight into who the unnamed adversary is.

@6:20 "Can you survive ejection at March 10?" The answer is, "certainly not a normal ejection." Apparently there are documented "normal" ejections over March 2 where the pilot's/crew's limbs were essentially torn off. Later ejection seats were designed with straps which would automatically tightly cinch in the crew members arms and legs against the seat (to prevent flailing injuries) when the seat was triggered.
The SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, which apparently had a top speed somewhere over March 3, had an ejection capsule for the crew where the entire capsule would be ejected from the main aircraft and there is allegedly at least one instance where this was used and the crew/pilot survived (although I'm unclear at what speed the SR-71 was actually traveling when this happened). An "ejection capsule" which allowed a pilot/crew to eject (inside the capsule) from a primary aircraft body traveling Mach 10 would certainly require some pretty amazing engineering. The mythical "Dark Star" aircraft in this film is loosely based on Lockheed Martin's hypothetical SR-72 aircraft, the SR-71's hypothetical successor.

Over 40 vocal models were generated to find the closest match, which could then be used in future projects. For this film, director Joseph Kosinski said that despite reports to the contrary, they did not use Sonantic's AI technology in the film. It’s almost a beat for beat remake of the original with a little Star Wars thrown in. Here’s a short list of events that happen in both films (I’m probably missing a few).

    4. Bar scene introduces pilots
    5. Pilots, unknowingly, have embarrassing encounter with Instructor
    6. Pilots discover their instructor is the person they had the embarrassing encounter with while in briefing
    7. Maverick breaks the hard deck
    8. Someone leaves their wingman
    9. Pilots play ball game on beach
    10. Maverick sleeps with love interest
    11. Pilots have a dangerous accident during a training mission
    12. Someone dies
    13. “Talk to me Goose”
    14. The pilot who originally leaves his wingman, comes to the rescue in the end
    15. Love interest hides in bar before being revealed at the end.

There's a LOT of 'behind the scenes' stuff all over RUclips. Some of my personal favorites come from other RUclipsrs who happen to have also been naval aviators at some point.
Mr. Cruise ran the actors through a basic flight program he came up with, in addition to some safety training that the Navy required from the actors. On top of that, he taught each of the actors some cinematography in order to be able to work the cameras they had mounted in the F-18s, since they would be the only ones in the back seat.
The did some CGI for safety reasons, like when the F-18s flew REAL CLOSE (they could have just edited some real-time footage together). They had to with the 5th-gen fighters (the SU-57, known by NATO as 'Felon'), since there are fewer than 10 in existence, and they belong to the Russians. The production team could have gone to airshows in Europe to get decent photographs, as well as some video footage of that maneuver they had it do in the movie.

So all the G-force effects are real. CGIs were added to touch up some of the real shots, and all close combat shots were of course CGI'd.

Maverick is a masterclass in paying tribute to the original IP. Just the right amount of member berries, while adding character development.
I also love how they turned a few off-hand comments from Stinger, Goose and Carole, about Penny into a full character with a believable history and real chemistry with Mav.
Stinger: "history of high-speed passes over five air control towers and one admiral's daughter!"
Goose: (leaning over to Maverick): "Penny Benjamin"
Carole in the diner scene with Charlie: "He told me all about the time you went ballistic with Penny Benjamin."

Two big things that one takes from this movie
    1) The Iceman scene is Val Kimler's real voice - there is a version that was going to be released with computer adjusted vocals, but VK himself asked for it to be released unedited
    2) The F-14 features a different pair of ejection systems so Maverick could have ejected Rooster himself by toggling the switch to his right side

I was also happy to see they didn't go with the plot I'd first expected. I thought they were going to take the plot from the excellent anime, Macross Plus, and have a pair of rival pilots teaming up to prove that they're better than a new generation of drones.

The French film "Sky Fighters" (Les Chevaliers du ciel; 2005), based on a very popular comics series in Europe, showed outstanding and never seen flight sequences. It lasted 17 years to see an even more spectacular aviation movie, which "Top Gun Maverick" without doubt is! So I would highly recommend "Sky Fighters" to compare this two masterpieces. And by the way, have you ever watched "The Bridges At Toko-Ri" (1954), based on the book of James A. Michener? It's a classic!

"The end is inevitable, Maverick. Your kind is headed for extinction."
"Maybe so, sir. But not today."
Fun Fact: The World War II P-51 Mustang seen in this movie is actually Tom Cruise's own airplane. Cruise is an accomplished pilot in real life.
Practical Over CGI Fact: At the insistence of Tom Cruise, minimal green screen and CGI aerial shots exist in the film, and even the close up cockpit shots were taken during real in-flight sequences. This meant that much of the cast had to undergo extensive G-force training sessions to withstand the physical demands of G-force pressures during flights.
RIP Iceman Fact: Admiral Tom "Iceman" Kazansky has a relapse of throat cancer and dies from it. In real life, Val Kilmer was suffering from throat cancer at the time, resulting in his vocal cords being damaged so severely he was unable to speak. To accommodate this handicap, his character communicates through typing and only speaks three lines near the end of the scene. Those spoken lines were created via a synthetic vocal generator programmed to emulate Kilmer's voice.

These high Mach experimental jets if there’s an ejection a carbon fiber monocoque capsul is what ejects keeping the pilot out of the windblast and floating down to safety. It’s what they left to be assumed in the movie jsut fyi. You’re correct an ejection at Mach 10.3 would rip the limbs and head off the body instantly .

Supersonic. In theory, the space shuttle’s ejection seats could be operated at up to 3,000 knots (3,400 mph/5,500 kph), which is roughly Mach 4 - 5 at altitude. It was never tested in real life, but the astronauts were not very optimistic about it because it was deemed almost useless. The later missions were flown with the ejection seats deactivated and it would have made no difference in both Columbia and Challenger disasters.
For airplanes, the solution to high speed ejecting is to encase the crew in a capsule. That way, they can be ejected even at Mach 3.
Air Force pilot Capt. Brian Udell is one of the only pilots in history to survive after ejecting from a fighter at supersonic speeds. The force of the air moving at more than 768 mph on his body was so strong that it nearly killed him.
“It felt like somebody had just hit me with a train,” said Udell. “When I went out into the wind stream, it ripped my helmet right off my head, broke all the blood vessels in my head and face, my head was swollen the size of a basketball and my lips were the size of cucumbers. My left elbow was dislocated and pointed backward, the only thing holding my leg on was an artery, the vein, the nerve and the skin and my left leg snapped at the bottom half.”
His body was essentially being torn apart by the wind.

This movie was so amazing. I was a blubbering mess in the theater. It was so extremely well done. In the original, Maverick is a very complex character and is almost the villain of the story because of how unhinged he is. Here, they basically made a movie about what that person would look like almost 40 years later, and they succeeded. You can see exactly how Maverick has become the person he is now.
In this era of huge-budget MCU movies that have trouble sticking to a consistent tone, TG:M is a breath of fresh air. It takes its characters seriously, and even the jokes make sense and don't feel like something kids say to each other when playing in a schoolyard.
On similar lines, you should watch the series Andor. I think it and TG:M are the two most well-made pieces of entertainment made this year.

Yes, he'd survive because he wouldn't eject out of the canopy into the air. A hypersonic jet like that has what's known as an ejection pod. It's, essentially, the bulk of the cockpit thrown free of the accident that then slows down naturally through the wind friction to the point that the pilot can THEN eject the cockpit. While our manned test jets aren't capable of doing mach 10 yet, a test pilot survived a bailout at mach 3.5 using an ejection pod method, so the theory is sound.
