As a person who actually fell in love with a girl at first sight and she as well, we took it slow and waited two years before tying the knot. That knot has stayed in place securely tied as we are to each other for 50 years and 16 days. And we both agree many years later at the moment we both knew we would be together until death do us part. Much to the shock of our kids who expected different answers for each of us.
Quite a few repeats (Britney Spears, Shannon Doherty, Jennifer Lopez, Nicholas Cage). There needs to be a law that a marriage must be at least 6 months in order to file for divorce, unless there are some special circumstances like an affair or abuse. Did any of these marriages end up with someone dying or were they all divorced? Love cannot be that fleeting after months or even weeks and sometimes days into a marriage. Some of them surprised me on how little time the marriages ended.
They don't have time for marriage or appreciate the work you need to put in. I am still legally married but I left him 5 years ago. That was the best decision I ever made. Leaving I mean. With him 3 years, married one. Marriage isn't for me.
I knew a couple whose marriage only lasted six weeks. That was a little different. They got engaged, then he got ill. They moved the wedding to earlier in the year, because he wasn't going to make it. They got married and he died six weeks later from disease.
That is quite different scenario and quite a different commitment than what many of these couples did. I mean getting divorced after only six hours? Ridiculous.
They always find out all they care about is money. And they all sleep around because they never see each other and have hundreds of chances to sleep around. Money can turn the nicest people evil
When viewing this I was not baffled or surprised~just a little like Wow & Yikes! And, then I stated...this is pretty nutty. Be more careful with yourselves.
It's like they're not ready to commit to having a family. When they were dating, they should really get to know each other and consider the good and bad points of their partner before deciding to get married. When they were dating, they weren't just thinking about having fun.
A lot of these people obviously didn’t take the time needed to really get to know in depth the person they were marrying. Some may even have been pushed by movie executives to get married as it may have been viewed as good business or to kill any rumors of homosexuality. Nevertheless, some of these people are just plainly making a mockery of the institution of marriage. Don’t look to Hollywood if you want examples of long lasting and happy marriages. They are few and fare between in that plastic induced pinnacle of celluloid and materialism.
