Your depth management is mindboggling. You have so many defensive tackles and the minimum number of edge rushers. DTs cannot play edge in nickel packages in the depth chart, so you should move some of them to end.
It feels like by the moves that have been made, there is no choice but to roll back with Stockton next year, no matter what he does. This team just doesn't have the ammo to move up in the first round if he isn't the guy.
Anything is better than the turnover machine that is Denzel Stockton and imo a lower rated QB that makes better decisions with better traits is better than a 90 that’s a gamble
I think Cane kinda talked himself into a trade he really didn’t wanna make. We’ve all been there playing team building games, but it does feel like a bit of an own goal when you do it
Man, watching Stockton make some of those bone headed throws is painful. I've run through a lot of Franchises on M24 (624 Hours 😅) and the traits can make or break a player/team depending on the position. I'm not a fan of the mid-season trade you made to acquire DJ Reed. Same age as Sneed, who we already saw regress last season, and it's tough watching you trade away "Home Grown" talent like Blades. Salary Cap limitations are tough to navigate, but it remains to be seen how tough things will be if you hand Stockton another contract as the QB of the Raiders. Looking forward to the rest of this season and where you take things in the rebuild.
Don't recall what our tag situation is looking like, but given how cheap the TE tag is Mayer seems like a candidate to consider this offseason if you can't get him resigned. A solid passing target and I'm so impressed watching the space he creates in the running game.
Agree, and think it makes more sense to try to move Stockton in week 6/7/8 of his option year His traits aren’t great and he will undoubtedly demand more $$ than Cane’s cap can handle
That next game against Mia is huge. Im looking for stockton to build off that strong game agaist KC. I like the deadline move to bring in another quality DB and theres no excuses now on that side of the ball. I think its all down to execution at this point. The pieces are in place and theres no reason this team cant win. KC ultimately is the team to beat in the AFC and all roads go through KC. The raiders have played them tough though its just a matter of taking that next step. Its a real crossroads section for the raiders. Do they take that next step to challange KC and take the reigns of the AFC
Cane I have faith in u as a gm but what the hell are some of these moves. Trading picks for aging vets when the team isn’t gonna do much is a weird move and having no second or third rounder is also not great when the roster needs to get younger at very important positions
I continue to be confused by some of the moves. One of the big points in the offseason was how too much of the team are players on their second or third deals and that they need more rookie contracts on impact players. Yet Cane is doing the opposite, the trade up in the draft was a weird deal and now more picks being sent away, I just don’t get it.
🎵Alright what a night it’s finally here, Sunday Night Footballs kicking into high gear🎵 I might be alone in this camp, but I’d love Madden to incorporate the Sunday Night Anthem into the game.
That miss to Adams over the middle on that final drive was painful. For all his ability shaydon rosemond... errr .... stockton just cant make it happen when it counts.
A frustrating reprise of the Divisional Round: Stockton has a strong performance on the whole, but squanders a chance to blow the game wide open early with a catastrophically timed pick, then can't get it done after the Chiefs take full advantage and come roaring back late. If nothing else, it leaves you with a worse feeling than what his statline would otherwise suggest. Back down to .500, the next few games will most likely set the tone for the rest of the year. Don't count us out yet, but I get the sense it's going to take a REALLY strong second half from Vegas and a decently weak one from LA for us to so much as sneak back into the wildcard. Fingers crossed!
If Cane...I mean, the Raiders go up 14-3 instead of that end zone pick with nobody in the same zip code as the defender, it completely changes the rest of the game.
The D line apart from crosby has been non exsisttent and even in the last KC game it seemed like mahomes wasnt getting pressured at all and was slinging the ball everywhere
As much as I dislike Stockton he is your only option for a few years. If you pick up his option I'm sending you links for betterhelp 😂 I'd be looking in free agency for young qbs to push him because he's just taking up space at this point.
To push back on that a bit... at this point, the roster's aging, its not consistent at its core. The current core is aging out and there's no draft capital to build with. I don't see much of a choice but to keep that 5th year because there're going to be so many holes now and any WR to replace Adams is going to need to flash against someone with talent... if its the Raider's own Jameis Winston.
@michaelomerza1134 I can agree with you on some things but honestly I've had a similar story happen in my Bills franchise. After Josh Allen retired, I drafted a highly rated hidden dev qb that turned out to be absolute crap, but found a rookie free agent qb that was 59 overall, normal Dev but was 6ft 8 and had his highest accuracy at 63 or so but took a chance on him since he was fresh out of University of Buffalo. That same free agent signing is currently at a 76 overall after winning rookie of the year just simming and watching games. Free agency just HAS to have someone better than Stockton, he wears the opponent's jersey under his every game.
If there's one thing I know, it's that Patrick Mahomes with the ball at Midfield with 90 seconds left means that this team is losing. Stockton didn't have a prayer being given the ball back, even with three timeouts he mismanaged the drive.
Probably stuck in a situation where you need to keep Stockton unless you're able wheel and deal him, Adams, and Jacobs to reset the cap situation and acquire picks/talent.
I would name the dark orange part of the scale 'Matt McGloin' and the light yellow 'Rich Gannon.' Though, if we are being honest, Derek Carr is the best quarterback in franchise history.
Absolutely not. Carr has had his true worth inflated by playing in a pass heavy league. He's a proven loser who's even worse in New Orleans, a supposedly solid franchise.
@@alonsocastro1412people forget because that was literally 8 years ago. He had one truly great year in 15-16 and hasn't even remotely gotten back to that level since the leg injury.
you should go into formation subs or the depth chart and for nickel and dime packages move tyree Wilson inside and put Mack on the outside (it’s a waste keeping Mack on the bench) and you can prob get extra pressure while still having a decent run game defense with Wilson being a bit larger than some DE
Trading away draft capital wouldn’t have been my first choice so it stands to reason trading back in the first round to pick up more draft picks. You can still find hidden dev players late 1st early 2nd
I think one of your biggest moves should be to fire the O coordinator. Theres games you barely run. And games you start out running well, only to go away from it for huge stretches. Stockton will never be a good 35 to 40 pass a game guy. Just doesn't have the right traits for that.
That DJ Reed trade makes me sick. That's the biggest over pay I've ever seen you make. You gave up a 2nd for a VERY marginal upgrade and then traded away the 77 overall. So you gave up a 2nd for a slight, SLIGHT upgrade at outside CB, and then stay the same at slot instead of being better there too. I just don't get that one at all.
it is going to be very difficult to build a team that can win with Stockton after his rookie contract is up. He's just not making anyone around him better
People talking smack about Stockton but he had the game of his life. Same thing in the playoffs. He may not be the answer but this defense is just bad in games that matter
Not to be a hater, but I think you should skip the Chiefs games a bit more, it´s been only 25 episodes and it feels we´ve seen a game against Kansas City like 5 times already
At this point, I'm not sure AJ Ray is the head coach to lead us to a Super Bowl. His game management at the end of this game was awful, and the defense had maybe their most unclutch performance of the year. At the end of the day, he can't win the big games
If we aren't sure about Stockton & we are probably a borderline wild card team, why trade away our future high draft picks for a 3rd CB? Just doesn't make any sense, but then again many cane trades don't. Hoping for the best.
Feels like you've all but guaranteed this franchise stays as an almost-ran playoff team that gets behind the cap and dies. Very Saints-like. Predict lots of heartbreak for a long time to come.
Madden does it again. Never get sick of losing on the "always perfect" final drive. It's not Stockton, even though he has obvious limitations. Traits are more important than skills with QB's, see Tom Brady.

Sorry cane but a 2nd round pick for a 29 year old 84 overall cb as a #3 not the best move lol
Yeah these moves are really mind boggling. Cant afford to give up draft picks, especially with an aging core and gives up a 2nd for an old CB.
@@nick-r8o8w I'm not even sure Chris Grier would be making moves like THAT. 😮

TE tag should be reasonable. I imagine if Kelce retires it gets even cheaper.
Good deadline moves. Strong #3 WRs and #3 CBs always help in putting one's team over the top.
Stockton's traits make it certain he will never be the man.
Agree, and think it makes more sense to try to move Stockton in week 6/7/8 of his option year

100% correct - It's literally that easy to predict how good a quarterback will be in a non-user controlled franchise.
13:30 bro as soon as you started to say it I knew the INT was coming immediately 😭😭
25:00 Surgical drive from Stockton. Even diagnosed the blown coverage.

Carr was a mvp candidate before he hurt his shoulder one year, he was slightly above average most of his tenure

Not trading for a 3rd receiver is a wild miss. No need to get a team's number one, just a guy that won't be a liability in areas like Clinton.
Eh, I think Clinton is good enough, young.
Stockton played amazing you can’t blame him for that loss
