I hardly ever use an Airline's frequent flyer program to book their own metal. It is the irony of the game, but thanks to Dynamic pricing, that's where we are! I use Delta to Book Air France, Air France to book KLM, and KLM to book Delta!😅
Good info. Subscribed. One tip from me, esp with American dynamic can be dramatically different depending on dates. By altering my dates sometimes just one day ahead or back Ive saved literally 10,000's miles. Like 50k-60k.
Thank you Max for that outstanding information. By the way thanks to you I was able to redeem 75000 Delta points + 45 dls each to book a flight from Mexico City to Paris in business class in Aeromexico. For my family of 3 Thanks again for show me how to use my points, using the different tools available.
Yes, this! Learning slowly that Aeroplan is not the best way to fly internationally. We enjoy Europe, but live on the east coast of Canada. So often we need to take a positioning flight to YYZ or YUL. but from there I book Lufthansa or KLM if possible. There finally some decent flights across from YHZ that are operated by Eurowings. More choice!
Better take advantage of fixed points partner airline awards while they exist. There's a possibility that certain airlines might start having agreements with each other to "share" information with their partners and make it possible to have dynamic pricing across programs.
Dynamic pricing stinks. Air Canada is basically saying they don’t want to offer award spaces on those flights. But that kinda defeats the purpose of award programs.
We opened 2 computers (one was a Kindle) and ticked AVIOS on one for the same flight, our trip was from Gatwick to Cyprus, my friend's quote using AVIOS was £250 more for the same flight. It's a scam in by BA.
Do you foresee fixed price awards going away for partner airlines in the near future (everything going dynamic pricing)? This would reduce interest in award programs in general, but the US legacy carriers do not seem to care. Our only recourse is to go to Chase and get the 1.25 to 1.5 CPP based on a ticket’s cash price. This sucks, man!
It’s bound to happen at some point. Skyteam airlines are pretty much fully dynamic now and those airlines don’t get talked about much in the miles and points world because there aren’t many sweet spots to talk about because of dynamic award pricing 😕. Earn and burn your points while you can and enjoy the ride … for however long it lasts
Nice video. Would you recommend booking with more pts (called Savor?) with Air Canada so you can change or cancel later? Not sure how much cancelation fees costs with booking the lowest award chart.
Hey! Me again. Not sure if I found "award availability" but I was able to book directly from Delta LAX to Maine (1 stop). I was able to get it for 12,500 pts and $5.60. The other partners wouldn't even show PWM. I still need for Thailand and I have been practicing but can't find anything for November.
@Max Miles Points Great timing - Flying from bay area (SJ, SFO, OAK) to Finland in June - what options do i have? I have amex platinum and 400k points i plan on doing the hotel upgrade in helsinki as well - any advice?
Yup the award chart doesn’t account for web specials which is unpredictable and Air Canada award chart for air Canada operated flights isn’t accurate either as shown in the example in the video. What is accurate is partner award chart
You're probably the best youtuber in this area that explains stuff clearly and in a normal voice

I will be booking my first reward flight next year. These videos give me the information/examples that I can follow

Nice job on the redemption! Glad you find my content helpful, thanks for watching!
You 10000% deserve more subs Max and I am sure they will come. Your content is some of the best in the travel rewards space
Thanks Max!!!! I’m glad and shocked I was under the 28k subs… great editing/sound/video work as always. You much deserve 100k subs!
Haha RUclips is not my main platform but working on it! Thanks for watching 😄
Thanks, which app are you using to get the comparison?

Yup that would be painful , take advantage of it while you can!

Cant wait to start getting better flight redemptions!
Xlnt video!..... do you have any suggestions on the best way to book a flight from spokane Washington to Manila Philippines? Thx

This is brilliant! Never knew this
Love all your videos! would you have a video that teach the best way to book from JFK to Dubai?

This was so helpful. Thank you so much
I find so much value in your videos
If I would like to go from USA to Australia, via Japan. Would I need two separate VA booking? US to Japan, then Japan to Australia. Thanks in advance.
I was literally saying Wtf after trying to search for points needed?!?! Thanks for the video!!

i'm headed back to Thailand from new york in August. will use about 90,000 pts through areoplan. looking to spend less points one way.
Nice! You never know what you’ll find on Delta or skyteam partners unless you search on their websites. They are full dynamic pricing
What if all the partner airlines do not show up on a specific route? How would you know if its the best deal?
If you don’t see partner award on your search then that means there’s no saver award space on that particular route/flight.
I tried booking Qatar using American miles it doesn’t show any option on their website
Can you still redeem Singapore flights with Aeroplan points? I haven't been able to find flights listed on the Air Canada website
SO - HOW DO YOU TRANSFER THE POINTS FROM YOUR CARRIER TO THE PARTNER AIRLINES????
You don’t you book partner airlines using the airline miles/points you have (or transfer points from your CREDIT CARD to the AIRLINE)
@Max Miles Points
Great timing -

I have amex platinum and 400k points
i plan on doing the hotel upgrade in helsinki as well - any advice?
yeah
I don’t understand anything…😮it’s worth it or not redeem miles ?
smart man thanks
Any tips with using points to fly Business Class to the Philippines?
yea
Course has been taken down?
The AA "chart" isn't even accurate. They say prices to Europe starting at 75k but I just booked MSP-MAD biz class
for 60k (web special).
Yup the award chart doesn’t account for web specials which is unpredictable and Air Canada award chart for air Canada operated flights isn’t accurate either as shown in the example in the video. What is accurate is partner award chart
@@MaxMilesPoints Yup. Aeroplan great with no fuel surcharges.
What do I do with Etihad miles ? 🤔
good vid
Thanks for watching!
lol, people even sell courses for this😂
Damn that’s cheap for JAL
Same with Avios, never fly BA metal lmao
BA has a fixed award chart that’s distance based so they haven’t gone dynamic pricing yet
@@MaxMilesPoints they’ll get you with the surcharges tho(for BA metal)
