Too bad Bret had the concussion problem from Goldberg and stroke problems. It'd of been epic seeing him return to WWE at a sooner time than 2010 to be able to wrestle Shawn Michaels again (2005 HBK's summer heel Montreal promo would've been the perfect time for that) or even team up with him in some tag matches. Also a program with Kurt Angle and other guys he didn't get to wrestle would've been amazing as well.

So Goldberg caused the stroke even though Bret kept wrestling?

    • @StephOMacRules
      @StephOMacRules Год назад +1

@@ianmeadows8719 Yes. It was caused by Goldberg, the hole in his cranium, but at the time everyone in the back shrug those kind of concusion feelings off and so did Bret due to lack of proper medical staff and continued wrestling which made it worse until it was clearly diagnosed.

@@StephOMacRules It definitely didn't help, but Bret was in a motorcycle accident and hit his head, wasn't wearing a helmet. And yeah if you have post concussion syndrome a blow to the head is VERY dangerous, very likely it caused the stroke.

Much love to JR. He's my favourite commentator of all time. There aren't many guys around who'd have a better read on Vince and this entire situation than JR. I love his story-centric approach wrestling. You can be the strongest or the fastest, but it means nothing if there's no reason to buy in and commit to the narrative. Bret was the best at telling stories in the ring IMO in that format of a worked altercation. That's personal preference though, there other good picks like HBK. Kurt Angle is another who's worthy of it, though his work isn't as publicised as he was in TNA for many years.

I sure miss JR's restaurant here in Norman, Oklahoma.
It was the Absolute Best BBQ around, so good.
I met JR there and his late wife Jan was in there a lot and she was such a nice person she was Amazing.
I also met Steve Dr Death Williams in there and he was very nice, a Monster handshake.

That wasn’t the first face to face. They met in a park, Vince agreed to the same thing and then reneged on it. Before Brets stroke
It was when Vince allegedly had snipers around the park as Bret told it.

According to Bret (in his book) Vince offered him his job back at wwe, which Bret turned down. He found out after Vince was wearing a wire and was trying to get Bret to say something incriminating. He was pretty much in damage control after Owen's accident.

Jim Ross brings up something most people aren't talking about. Say Vince sells WWE to Comcast, or Apple, or Amazon, or Disney (I doubt it with their money issues right now,) or the Saudis.
    Then what? 🤔
    Does Vince go back away?
Does Vince take the company private and run it the way he did before they went public in 1999?
Does he leave the company structure the way it is with Triple H running creative and he just remains a figurehead?

    • @davidlewis5312

I honestly don't see Vince staying for long if they sell. No way he is going to last long with a 'boss' he can't easily blow off.
