  • Come here and we'll send you to Rwanda.
That's the message coming out of the United Kingdom for asylum seekers and migrants trying to reach it illegally .
Most of those supposed to be deported were able to avoid the first flight to Kigali through individual legal challenges.
A request to halt the flight was rejected by the UK's Court of Appeal.
Will this policy stop refugees reaching Britain?
    Presenter: Mohammed Jamjoom
    Guests:
Clare Moseley, Founder of Care4Calais, an organisation campaigning against deportation policy.
Joseph Ryarasa, Executive Secretary of Never Again, a social justice and peacebuilding organisation in Rwanda.
Catherine Woollard, Secretary General of European Council on Refugees and Exiles.

England Government breaches of human rights and its Public incitement towards immigrants and refugees must be vigorously challenged by all parties and at UN . These trend behaviours are at unprecedented level and higher than average previous breaches in the past decades .The same laws that England is binding co signatury of are broken constantly with deliberiate callous intentions ! England systematic cultural Racism has alot to answer for it .It is Ironic that England has audacity to criticise China's internal affairs pointing at its human rights breaches with political hostilities at UN !!!!!!! Sending refugees thousands Miles away to Rowanda not exactly upholding humanitarian values as hypocritialy claimed by England .Considering Rwanda has been ground for gross outrageous genocides in recent decades with an economic poverty circumstances not able to sustain own populations is adding salt to injury ! One million Dollar Question should be asked if Ukrainian undocumented refugees arriving are shipped out of England for Rwanda too !? And y not ? and would Rwandan arriving in England will be sent back to Rwanda !?

One would think that bonafide asylum seekers would be grateful to receive a welcome from any nation willing to offer them a safe harbor. But it doesn't work that way. Many of these asylum seekers and migrants are only willing to live in countries that offer the biggest handouts. Voters who pay taxes in those nations are weary of funding the needs of outsiders when their own needs are going unmet by their government. Compassion may be unlimited, but resources are not.

Rwanda sells to the world a big lie that it is a model of development in Africa. The truth is Rwanda is worse off now than it was 30 years ago. For example a primary school teacher who earned an equivalent of $175 UD (14000 Frws) in 1990 is now earning $48UD ( 50000 Frws). 14000 Frws to 50000 Frws, you can see yourself what inflation has done the Rwandan currency. While Kigali is shining with foreign investments, the majority of Rwandan people are living in terrible poverty in countryside. Rwandan government regularly cleans Kigali city for tourists by arresting and detaining unwanted poor Rwandans to safeguard the image of a so called successful city and country of Rwanda. Rwanda currently has more than 150000 Burundian and Congolese refugees who live in unspeakable misery. Rwanda entered UK refugee deal lured by money, not humanity. It’s insane, it’s unacceptable. It’s inhumane. Shame to UK and Rwanda governments!

There is no reason to allow them entry until their status is established. Much better that those claims are processed outside the country. It also gives time to work out who might present a security risk to the destination country. I’ve never been to Rwanda but it’s hard to imagine it not being a huge improvement to the appalling muslim holes of countries these people are understandably trying to escape. This is an enormously sensible decision on the part of Denmark and the UK and will likely see other governments follow suit.

It's amazing how people take on some situations they don't even know how they really work! The transit mechanism, in itself, is a huge undertaking. And, based on facts of successful organizations, Rwanda has just done ithat! One may know Congolese, Burundians and other individuals or families that now live in USA or elsewhere; those groups of people were taken care of before traveling in nations of their choice, provided they were accepted as refugees or asylees; iIts a collaboration with nations, folks! So why are you are you so doubtful of Rwanda? This is absurd! So do you really think an african country can't help in such problems solving?
Yes, of course, there has to be money involved in order to accomplish all that! How do you expect things to happen, otherwise? For instance, when UN does that kind of job, some nations share a lot of money to make it happen! They do an immense work since after the second World War, if I'm not mistaken.
