This is why Russell doesn't like sharing. Between them breaking the toy and him just never feeling like he can get the toy when he wants it, right then and there. Something about that is always nice (what? me? no no no I'm not projecting my own thing on to Russell, never. Totally all Russell 😶)
Absolutely love Russel's beautiful fur. I had a white and ginger like Russel. His name was Mellow. I would have definitely tried the buttons. He was my trip companion. He loved the car. Never a growl or a fawl, always happy and confident. I miss him. Gone too early at 5 years old.
Oh wow. I had two boys, brothers same litter, died at 6 and 7 years old likely had some heart defects the vet thought, I thought they died awful early too! They died over four years ago and it still stings even though I’ve got more cats now it just seemed sooo early to lose them. Neither one died from accidents so it was quite unexpected. The younger one did have more frequent trips to the vet he seemed to get infections easily, but the other one was not sick at all: they just stopped eating.
@@deborahemielita5949 My orange boy Milo died a few days before his fifth bday. I swear these genetic heart diseases are a bitch. I wish vets would talk about them from the start more often instead of waiting for it to show its nasty face. :/

I'm planning on buying a set of buttons for my current pooch. She already answers me by picking a hand when I give her two choices and hold them up! I really want to give her the freedom to communicate that Russell has. This is lovely to see!
Yeah, I don't see how anyone can deny they're being used to communicate once the animals start using them more frequently and give mostly natural responses to questions.
I like how when pets learn to talk using buttons and are asked a question, they pause everything they are doing for like 5 seconds to process all the sounds they just heard (words) and process that into new words they can use on their buttons
My cats defo understand what I say to them. At 1 point I said that I'm struggling to take care of them (depression and maybe something else). Russell you are precious and so smart! I have a cat named Charlie and he will do 'up' for his wet food and he can say 'yes' & 'no' and then he has conversations with me that only he and I can understand! Lol. You and he could definitely have some wonderful conversations!
Does Russell know the buttons by location? Or by the sound they make? If you were to add a second "keyboard" elsewhere.... would he "say" the same things on it?
The language hextiles are sorted, so emotional things like mad and happy will be near each other and toys together and so on. I guess he remembers which ones are which.
if you know billi (billispeaks), they added a button board on the patio so she didn't have to walk inside everytime and she started to combine buttons outside and inside. they also both react to questions, so they definitely know the sound of their words
They know where the buttons are by their location, but they also understand the meaning of the words. If the buttons have letters or pictures on them, they are not going by that
Cats can’t read the words on the buttons. Nor can they process abstract concepts. It’s essentially just a cat pressing buttons hoping to get food because it’s been conditioned that buttons = food or attention

I seriously understand everything my cat says and vice versa. I’ve had him since he was a measly pound, and I’ve spoken to him like a real boy since day 1. We have a connection that will continue through lifetimes 💗
It's like when someone takes a deep breath and says they are going to remain calm when they are feeling angry. I didn't know cats or any animals had the ability to redirect their emotions or actively change their emotional state.
I was about to log off and turn my phone off if he wouldve left from looking outside and went back to the button to hit play and outside as if you didn't just tell him no to outside😂😂😂😂 unbelievable but so cute
Currently, my cat is lying next to me trying her best to put her paw in my mouth. Even if I could have a meaningful conversation with my cat, I don't think I would want to. I think our relationship works best when we look at each other and just assume we know what each other's thinking rather than knowing for sure. You know.
