The replacement filters are not expensive, and you can get the refills at Petsmart. I have the exact same vac and I like mine. When I do a water change I use the siphon on the Python to clean, but in between water changes I use my Fluval Provac.
Thank you for this video. It is an expensive tool and because of your video I know now that I am going to buy this one. All the other gravels on internet aren’t good enough
Thanks for the video! Saw one at pet store but wasn't sure it was worth it...now I know! Python wouldn't work for us due to little water pressure. Great thinking to make an electrical one verse battery thanks again
The directions say if appliance falls in water do not reach for it unplug it first but the box says fully water proof. Can I go deeper than the handle on this thing or not
I would assume it’s because of the button on the handle. A little water but don’t submerge it in water. Of course if your tank is high in height then the handle might go in a little. Not to mention it’s probably referring to the cord. Try not to get that wet for obvious electrical shock, for instance if there’s a cut in the cord. But I’m just a user so don’t quote me. Listen to the user manual.
Hello, do I still need to do the monthly water changes if I use this item? I figured if it removes all the dirt, I could just add the water conditioner, nitrate and chlorine formulas.
This thing just seems to chew up the dirt and it floods back into the tank via the gap between the body and the filter cartridge. Makes the tank even dirtier. Its pants.....save your money !
Gatcha, take it back. Unless you need it for draining your tank it's useless. I'm back to using my pump vacuum. Least it removes the debris and cleans the gravel even if I lose a bit of water. The tank is much cleaner and clearer still once finished.
Excellent review minus one thing. You should have shown what the filter looked like after cleaning so the public can actually see what the product did for your tank. If the filter was very dirty then we know the product does what it says.
Thanks for showing it all! It
Helped me decide if I want to purchase. I appreciate it! 😃
I just bought one of these. I tested it out a little. And liked how it worked. It did a pretty good job.
Great to hear!
This was so satisfying to see that it does what it's supposed to! Thank you!

Thanks for the review man, everyone else shows the old one of these that used batteries and didn’t have the led light

@Acqua Di There’s diy mod you can do instead using the sponge. It totally works. Just type Fluval Provac Spongeless modification

Yes, I would recommend.
So do you find that the dirt and gunk just spits out of the filter? The tinier pieces I should say?

@@jordanturrell3095 EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE...I came here looking for a solution, hoping I was doing something wrong...guess it’s going back :(
Yes. Exactly that. It takes the large debris, chews it up into finer pieces and puts it back into your tank. Doesnt actually hold any debris.

Can the cord get wet?

This one is stronger than the old version right?
Can you submerge the whole thing? I have a pretty deep tank
No its not preferred.
I thought that I was the only one who overfed so they won’t eat the smaller fish. Lol.
