Fun facts: I met the man of the hour Michael Giacchino, J.J. Abrams, and Danny DeVito, out of sheer random luck got a video/photo moment with them after the show as I was exiting. Also, this is my second time attending a Royal Albert Hall event, the first being Kylie Minogue.
The power of music in this orchestra piece rings true in the comments section, it was quite moving for me, and how it felt witnessing and hearing greatness unfold live in person. Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are two of my favourite fictional characters, in part thanks to the Spider-Man: The Animated Series. (1994 TV series) Culminating in Spider-Man No Way Home to see both characters adapted to live-action in a cinematic universe is a breathtaking spectacle in the last 19 years since 2002. Also I myself made a brief cameo at the end of this video recording. Device used to capture memories is the Samsung Galaxy S8. 😃

I'd say that Iron Man, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy (both 1 and 2, especially 1), Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Infinity War, and maybe Doctor Strange and Ragnarok have great music. The others? Not so much.

Haha, us fans always have to remember! The music is always a big part of the experience. Picking out every theme in the mcu isn't so hard lol. I really do love what Michael specifically has done for the MCU so far. I was so glad when he joined. He's great and always adds a memorable feel to every score he composes.

Its weird to think that 10 years ago, only people who read comic books would know who these heroes are, but now, its kinda common knowledge to know who Iron Man, Ant Man, Thanos, and such a large array of characters. Its truly a remarkable accomplishment from Marvel Studios :)
Especially the Guardians of the Galaxy, whose only the more die-hard Marvel fans know them.

Michael Giacchino is this generation's John Williams. (Although, Alan Silvestri knocked it out of the park with the _Avengers - Infinity War_ and _Endgame_ soundtracks. Simply outstanding).

@@GeneralHeavy He did a good job, too. Very talented guy, no doubt. But I have to admit that I couldn't hum a single bar from that score. John was and is the man when it comes to memorable film scores.
Not to diss on Giacchino, but I liked Silvestri better, and the successor to John Williams would almost certainly be Hans Zimmer, Zimmer’s accolades are second to Williams only.
Alan Silvestri and Michael Giacchino are definitely the best MCU composers. Their themes are at least more memorable than what Brian Tyler and others have managed to make. There are exceptions, like Black Panther. But the movie uses it as more of a leitmotif rather than an actual theme, like The Avengers or Spiderman. Ludwig is still one of my favorites tho

Tyler Bates' music in Guardians Of The Galaxy is also very good (not just the great soundtrack, but their theme)
And of course Christophe Beck's soundtrack of Ant-Man is simply awesome.

This feels like a beautiful tribute to Steve Ditko, the co-creator of both these characters. Without him we wouldn’t have Doctor Strange or our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. R.I.P. 1927-2018.

Michael Giacchino is definitely a talented film composer. So many pieces he has written are very good musical compositions. His take on the Spider-Man theme was pretty good, but, the Star Trek remake as well as the Up movie as well as the John Carter music he wrote are my favorites. Can't wait for The Batman theme.

Was front row and centre which helped easily record this moment in time. ^_^
In all honestly from memory, tickets were still selling for a little while and hadn't sold out. I waited it out and only a few people booked front row which I found really shocking. The ticket price wasn't even that much. And low and behold within 4 week before the event, I saved up and booked it, as I was wanting to book it sooner. All turned out real well in the end especially what happened on that very day. hehe

Very few film composers these days understand when and how to use certain themes at the right time. It almost seems as though most composers won't reuse another theme just because it's not their original work. But if you want the audience to know someone or a group is about to arrive, the musical theme is sooo incredibly important in that moment so we feel the build up to their arrival. Like the Avengers theme in Endgame just before the final battle. I'm really glad Marvel hired Giacchino to score so many of their movies because he most definitely understands character theme music. The score for Spider-Man No Way Home is absolutely amazing. He managed to reuse themes for characters who appeared in one movie, meaning he just turned those pieces into their official theme music. I don't know any other film composer who has ever made an official theme song for any character after 15+ years.

Mordecai 38 The movie is a hit or miss for some people, but his score for Speed Racer is the legitimately the best I’ve ever heard. Such a great, underrated composer (at least he’s getting more recognition now)
