Thanks for demonstrating how to change the string. I so needed this help. Usually I can figure things out, but for some reason, I my brain wasn't functioning. Thank you again!!
Everytime I need to replace the spool, I return on RUclips to visit Percival. I have always hope he will just do it for me, but alas. Still, he does show me how it's done.
Put in hole slightly, wrap it tight both strings in the same direction, practice makes perfect,if you mess up just re do it,you wont break it.Buy the refill string and same some money.
The problem I have is the line keeps winding out more thread whenever I turn it on. First it makes a noise like something is caught on it and then more thread comes out. I spool it myself btw
I dont know if this will help you guys but when I checked mine because i thought it was empty and it was not. It was about 7 or 8 rounds left, I noticed that the line was wound over itself 1 time. Meaning take the line and insert it under the last loop on the spindle then put it in the holes. I figured since it was done on both the top and bottom that it was done on purpose.
Not only that, but did you catch the pants? Percival talks about the "appropriate" way to install a new spool while wearing somewhat inappropriate pants! Don't cut THOSE plants down with your Homelite string trimmer sir! Someone is likely to get very upset with you!
Buy the refill string at home depot instead of the cartridge ,it costs 7 bucks and it lasted me 3 years you ,just wrap it to the cartridge yourself takes 2 min.
@@MikeJones-vi6mx I did try this. Not with the Homelite, but with other brands. I could never wrap it correctly so the automatic feeder worked. The string would just get caught or bound up and I would have to take it apart, go through the process of unsticking the stuck string, rethreading it, putting it all back together, only to have it gum up and stick again. The refill cartridges are more expensive. I'll give you that. But they are pretty much idiot-proof. And, when it comes to string trimmers, I'm a Grade A Idiot.
Thank you, I needed a quick precise and easily demonstrated example, without all the other time consuming rhetoric. That was great. Luck to you.

Very well done, Percival. This was very helpful. Thank you.

For anyone having trouble getting the top off, push the arrows in AND UP. It doesn’t just click out.

You should blur out your medical wrist band as it gives a lot of your personal info on there. Just a heads up.
sorry your comment from 2 years ago.... sadly, I don't have the capacity to be able to edit and blur stuff out.

You have to make sure the black button and spring is pushed out so its locked while your setting it and take it easy try not to hit the button.
Did you just come out of the Hospital recently because your still wearing your Hospital bracelet when you were making this video. lol 😆
Yes. No concern for my health I just jumped right in. Lol

I did that but it runs out in like 10 minutes for some reason
@@ophiuchusoversoul1785 Wow. Maybe its a weak brand or your not putting enough string on.
