Honestly you can’t compare what he did to the comfort women statues to anything else because what he did would always be so much worse. The statues depict the women who were r*p*d and sexually abused repeatedly and horrifically during the war, many of whom were younger than 18, aka CHILDREN. What he did was basically feel up on the statues of those children, dance all over them, do extremely vulgar gestures and just continuously sexually harrass them. I’m not even Korean but I consider what he did unspeakable and horrifying. I’m not surprised that people are looking for him, and tbh I doubt he’ll leave Korea in one piece.
Yeah and to think that some of the comfort women are still alive and still fighting for some acknowledgment and apology from their oppressors is so sad
At first, it was actually a minor issue. But recently, a minor incident has escalated into a major issue that has caused widespread anger among Koreans, mainly because of the incident of sexually harassing a comfort women statue. This act has deeply traumatized Koreans. It would be similar to the sexual desecration of the Lincoln statue or the memorial for the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States.
I’m Japanese and I’m deeply ashamed and guilty about the crimes committed against the Korean people, and for Johnny to blatantly disrespect the victimized people like this is disgustingly

Thank you for saying this. I only saw many Japanese comments that defend and deny war crimes and call the victims of sex slavery "voluntary prostitutes", online. And it always enraged and saddened me as a Korean. So I am deeply grateful and relieved to see your comment. Thank you. But after all, it is not your fault, and you don't have to feel guilty.
Quite the opposite. You get lucky few times and you start to think you are invincible. I was sick once. That's what I'm thinking too. He's not trying to live. Something is going on and he needs to be taken into an institution for mental health. This is beyond simple clout chasing demons, he's literally putting himself in life or death danger. He's got the extreme dgaf attitude of someone who's ready to go and is on a farewell tour. It's depressing.
If he ends up in a South Korean prison, those inmates will give him a proper history lesson of what those women went through. There won't even be any charge for the education, they'll just form an orderly line.
I am a 55-year-old Korean man. I served in the Coast Guard from 1990 to 1992, and my son served in the 'Leegija' unit's search unit and was discharged in the summer of 2023. My father, who passed away 5 years ago, also served as a military doctor during the Korean War. All men in South Korea go to the military. 'Idiot President Yoon Seok-yeol' has never served in the military. 'Johnny Somali' came to South Korea because he was too lazy to hold a fork and spoon. His wish will come true.
*Fun History Fact* - The Imperial Officer who had the idea to make military brothels an official/organized thing, did so in order to motivate his men to finish construction of an airfield. It was such a success his idea was replicated throughout the Army and became official policy. Oh and also that officer went on to be the Prime Minister of Japan in the early 1980s... so yeah I get why the Korean's want some official admittance of guilt.
Well... actually, 'comfort women' is just a tip of the iceberg of the atrocities done by Imperial Japan. Have you ever heard of the 731? Or a massacre that made a Nazi into a humanists, while horrifing Nazi comand so much, they decided to keep it as a secret to the public? And that said government is the same Japanese government today, with current politicitions their grand/great-grandsons? +) J. Gov dont teach WW2 correctly too. Their textbook says US unrightously cut off oil trade... leaving out the fact that the US did so to oppose them from invading China. (Back then, China was not a Socialist nation, though Japan's invasion did somewhat saved socialists party from certain death, as they were losing)
Actual fun fact: That imperial officer's grandson is Shinzo Abe who was a denier of all the war crimes his grandfather committed and used his political powers to have history textbooks rewritten with various atrocities omitted. That's how contrite the country of Japan has always been. Also very fun how that dude got taken out by a madman assassin who slapped together a shotgun at home.
Korea is way different from Japan. 1)All Korean men have to serve in the military for 18-21months (very few exemptions) 2)If you ever traveled to Korea, you would know this, they take your picture and fingerprints at the airport upon arrival. Taking fingerprints at the airport was a crazy experience so ya, don't fuck around in Korea
Japan has also been taking pictures and fingerprints of all travellers there for a while now. But I don’t see how that’s a crazy experience, it’s so they’ll know who to throw out and keep out if you misbehave. Enter with respectful intentions and you’ll have nothing to worry about.
If 90 days in the Japanese jail didn't deter Johnny not to be a hemorrhoid I don't know what will .. These places aren't pleasant and not holiday camps i.e Talking is allowed only during exercise and free time, and inmates are only allowed to speak Japanese so he's farked .. South Korea please jail him for a few years but it's more likely he will be deported again

In Korea, there is a unique emotion called "Han" that is unique to the world. There is no word to express it in other countries. Because Han is a terrible feeling that only Koreans understand.. Many Korean horror movies are based on Han. It is that scary. The statue that Johnny Somali insulted symbolizes the woman with the most "Han" in Korean history.. I think the real scary part has not even begun.
crazy that this guy never thought for a second that causing havoc in a country where most if not all men have served THE MILITARY, but also probably know some form of martial arts... what could possibly go wrong?
Same goes for Switzerland and Finland in Europe, they have mandatory military service and are among the most armed countries per capita in the world and both countries are known to be heavily into marksmanship, you don't mess around there.
I'm glad Korean's have decided to not tolerate a streamer/influencer who actively disrespects their country. I have watched a ton of Western vloggers who go to Africa, literally insult the African countries and the people in them to the peoples face, and the local Africans do nothing but kiss the asses of the people shitting on them. There's one particular streamer of this nature who got arrested in Trinidad for his nonsense, and a lot of black influencers came to his defence, condenming the country, and even sent him money for lawyers, despite the disparaging things he says in his videos towards people of African descent and Africa. Atleast Koreans don't tolerate or reward people who disrespect them.
Johnny Somali got his shit rocked so hard he was staggering around asking for his hat for like 2 minutes. He looked like a loser in a MMA match against Connor MacGregor. It was glorious. No one deserved it more.
The guy who knocked him out is a former Korean UDT operator ( Underwater Demolition Team, Korean Navy Special Warfare Flotilla ) , he's lucky he didn't do more damage to him. These guys are no joke, their unit is basically the S.Korean version of the Navy SEALS.

Probably disowned him long ago, knowing East Africans this doesn’t fly with them one bit. If he was back in the fold they’d beat the remorse out of him and imprison him in a mosque for the rest of his life.

I know that many people here might be thinking, the past is the past, who cares about a statue, is it really that bad. Yes, it is. It's about our grandmothers, our great aunts, maybe our great grandmothers and the trauma that passed down from it. Some comfort women are still alive. The pain is exacerbated by the Japanese government's unwillingness to acknowledge their war crimes. Hearing about the extent of the brutality, it was horrific what these women had to go through. So congrats to Johnny Somali for giving a public face for all of South Korea to vent their frustration and anger out on. Hope the Korean mafia find him and his friends. Hope Hank Yoo has gotten the shit kicked out of him.
The past is never just the past, it's what led up to today. We have to learn from it to avoid it, or it gets repeated. A statue is never just a statue, even if it means nothing. I can still hold meaning to other people, and should never be disrespected. Those statues were there to remember atrocities that occured during WW2, not for some crackhead to f**k with. I can only hope, if he ever gets out of prison, and still somehow finds himself unable to leave, that those same statues will hold meaning with him, even if it's only the *pleasant* memory of his stint in the Joint. I apologise. Your country shouldn't had to have dealt with this. At least something is being done to rectify this.
I keep hearing, even in this video, that the Japanese government is CONSTANTLY groveling and apologizing for it. And even made monetary amends. The Japanese of ww2 were assholes. You lying about the Japanese not taking responsibility and making amends where they have makes you the asshole now. Knock it off. Because it sounds like you're trying to convince japan to go back to their old ways, seeing as turning over a new leaf is just getting them more hate. Keep it up and you can expect a repeat in the next war.
I believe that the pain of awful situations like those ones should be remembered. I'm sure many Japanese especially younger ones would even agree. They don't have to feel guilty after all they may not have even been born at the time. But all around the world we have to remember our worst moments in our past so we know what can't ever be allowed again. Johnny is a damn idiot and a disrespectful asshat. He deserves any punishment he gets for his actions.

The question is WHERE are his parents?! I’m starting to think THEY are the ones enabling him to behave like this! Johnny is the type of dude to have never been physically punished his entire life.
👋👋👋👍
Despite how dumb and arrogant he is....... he's very good at remaining a ghost on the internet regards to his real life
Johnny is 24 years old, whether they’re enabling him or not he’s responsible for own actions. Hopefully something will be done…
Probably disowned him long ago, knowing East Africans this doesn’t fly with them one bit. If he was back in the fold they’d beat the remorse out of him and imprison him in a mosque for the rest of his life.
I guarantee you that he doesn’t have a father who counts.
THATS a given
4:47 when I saw what statue he was doing that to, I pretty much knew that he was a dead man
I don't think Mr. Somali will be leaving alive.

@@GafieldI know Korean is good people they just can't stand people disrespect them and get away easily.
I feel like this guy is going to pick a fight with the very wrong crowd (like a Yakuza-esque person) and deeply regret he has the literal hardcore mafia after him.
I just got to the point in this video where Johnny just enraged the very wrong people lol.
he literally did have yakuza members come tell him off in japan, he fled that section
@@lillepil7 At least he has enough brain cells to know he really screwed himself over.
Got to the point where he got arrested and this dude is absolutely effed if he goes to jail. He is not going to survive 6 months because everyone in that jail is going to know what Johnny did and are probably not going to be too kind to him.
He and someone with him actually did get punched in Japan and people clapped when he got punched (yes, really. Just look it up)
i currently live in korea and i had the misfortune of seeing him being a nuisance in person. i thought “not another annoying streamer like that one guy from japan” and then i later found out it WAS him. i just knew he’d be talked about online again
Damn so sorry to hear that. Wish South Korea all the best
Now that he’s been arrested and banned from leaving South Korea, I hope he faces real jail time.

There was a press conference with the dude that clocked him. Johnny is not getting charged and the dude has to resort to filing a complaint on Johnny lollll
About time you covered johny salami, Mutahar.
im a korean living overseas.... i'm a huge proponent of freedom of speech and what not. however distastefully and intentionally mocking my country not just through words but through public action IN Korea makes me actually chuckle from disbelief and FULLY knowing what will happen to him. I doubt it but hope he learns his lesson not to indulge in his disillusions and seek actual professional help with his mental state. if not we all know how this will pan out eventually.
This has been going on for a long time, and he has done this in a few countries now. I don't think he's the type of person to learn, and he probably doesn't want to learn either.
I don't believe there is anything wrong with him. He's doing this for greed and because of being raised improperly. No respect, no morals, he says so himself.
It would be one thing to be unaware. He is aware, and doing it purposely.
@@wesleytheanonymous3751 "i don't believe there is anything wrong with him, here are the things wrong with him"
right.
@@Ethefake I think they just meant he may not have anything like a mental disorder. Dudes can be heartless greedy jerks even with a healthy brain
