I have been thinking about the difference in feel between my own & gym C2s at same damper setting for a while. Clear explanation as well as DF solution. Fantastic, thanks for the eye opener 👌🏼
Thank you! This is the best video I've ever seen regarding drag factor. Superb.
so much fun getting back to older videos with more knowledge and know how. after rowing for more then 6 months, the videos are making much more sense! Dark horse rowing rocks! thanks for great content!!
Ha, ya we have quite the library by now :)
Thanks for the knowledge bombs! This was very clearly explained. Love this channel
Awesome insight. Thank you.
Best explanation of DF.
As the new owner of a Concept2D, happy to learn this stuff as it sure isn't explained as clearly at the Concept2 site. Thank you.
That's what we're here for Lindy. We partner with Concept2 for this very reason, to help provide expanded content.
Very helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome!
First time I understand that thing! Thx
Is it possible know my drag factor with a model C concept 2 rower equipped a PM2+ display?
awesome thx
What's your opinion on rowing at a 10 damper while maintaining a high RPM, similar to running with a weighted vest or swimmers wearing a t-shirt. That way when game day comes you're able to row at a 3-4 damper with much more ease. Thoughts?
Is drag factor meassure exclusive to C2 rowers?
Thanks for the informative video. I've been rowing on a Concept 2 at the gym recently, and I'm looking at pulling the trigger on buying my own. What drag factor would you recommend for a 5' 10", 160 lb man? Goal is just to get a good workout, not any competitive racing.
Jonathan, unfortunately it's hard to recomend a drag factor without seeing you row. Size doesn't give us the answer it's more in the performance and ability to connect so it's something that has to be seen to be understood. Have you tried the drag factor workout from the video we just posted? It's this weeks video and you may find that it's really helpful in understanding DF and which works best for you. ruclips.net/video/rySeSi93KYc/видео.html
Awesome, thanks for the advice! Your videos are super freaking helpful. Strong work!
how do you clean the mesh?????
If you row your hardest at this setting your drag factor will change dramatically. You've never explained the relationship between DF and pace. It seems one needs to find the right drag factor, but it'll be different for each workout. My draft factor today in a 500m event was 188 at a damper setting of 9, but in the 9km easy effort my drag factor was 151 at the same damper setting. I've watched all the DF videos you have and still don't know how to set DF based on event/distance.
Our goal with the DF videos is not to give an exact DF for an exact event/distance but to have the athlete gain exposure to different Drag factors. Choosing the right DF is subjective and needs a lot of exploration and experience.
it's weird how different drag factors are on different machines, on mine a damper setting of 3 is a drag factor of 120
Totally, it's all due to the dust factor unfortunately.
So is 110 everyone's drag factor number? If not ,how do I determine my number?
No it isn't. You can watch any of the drag factor videos on our channel to determine yours. ruclips.net/video/rySeSi93KYc/видео.html

Mine goes up to 11
But drag factor varies immensely based on how hard or slow I row.
No, drag factor is a fixed unit regardless of how hard or easy you row.
