How can you not pronounce something constantly said throughout the show lol
Americans .
Spencer isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed
@@miladeskandari7but we luv him for it 😂
Reynholme’s name, like his office, is cluttered with superfluous furniture (y, h, L, e)
It’s a damp squid.
Heston Blumenthal is a celebrity chef in the UK famous for doing crazy things with food, hence the white wine (milk) and food shaped like a radio.
...And his restaurant is the Fat Duck (of which the 'Flappy Duck' is a p*ss take) in Bray, Berkshire. 😄
@@MarkmanOTWI thought it said Happy Duck but a bit smudged. Hard to tell with my little phone screen and dodgy eyes.
Give a thought to Black Books by the same writers. It has a similar insanity about it. It also has its fair share of wacky characters.
Love that show
It's not the final episode. it is one special episode from 2013
I hope you will react to “Garth Marenghi’s DARKPLACE” at some point very soon. It stars both Moss and Douglas and it is a parody of British 70s and 80s sci-fi/horror television.
Seen his stage show recently ❤❤🎉
Moss in the dock has to be one of the funniest sit-com scenes of all time. So good. Maybe ‘The Mighty Boosh’ next…?
YES PLEASE GOSH
They aren't going to get the boosh, there's no fucking way. I like these guys but they aren't ready for the mighty boosh
"Well, I actually knew Reilly, and yes, there are similarities." 😂😅
That line kills me every time 😂
@@thatsthat2612 What a great character. Graham Linehan has a healthy sense of the absurd. Genius.
I personally hate it when people say "I could care less" so you are saying you do care?
that’s not the last episode… the last episode is hilarious
"A lawyer who represents himself in court has a fool for a client".
You guys should react to I'm Alan Partridge. An absolute classic that not many people have reactions for. Graham Linehan himself was in an episode if I recall correctly
OBJECTION YOUR HONOUR!...
There's a really good bit coming up 😂🤣
This wasn’t the last one! There is one more called farewell
It's the hysterical laughter at the suit for me. Has me everytime 🤣 some of the best trial prep I have ever seen
The Flappy Duck is a reference to a restaurant run by a celebrity chef here in the UK called Heston Blumenthal. He is best known for applying chemistry techniques to food and being exceptionally experimental with his dishes... Hence the invisible desserts and edible radios.
the man who brought the world Snail flavoured porridge, sausages made out of rice pudding and sex toys in jelly(jello) 🤣 oh yeah and Ejeculating pudding!!!
You need to Black Books next!
Most British shows don’t have finales at all. They film and come on quite irregularly compared to the US often so they aren’t sure if they are done or will be back in a couple years. Some return for a Christmas special or something that serves as the defacto finale.
I know it's been mentioned before, but there is 1 more episode that wraps things up. Please review it!❤
And its a longer episode. Im guessing around 40 minutes.
Flappy Bird 😅 Forgot about that one 😂
Its a shame there isnt more mark and ray in this episode
As an ex-military man surely Daniel knows what a squib is? An explosive charge, and a damp one obviously doesn't work properly.
I think what they are drinking is White Russians, not milk, it was mentioned in previous episodes as the only drink Moss drinks, made of vodka, coffee liqueur and cream. It can look like off-coloured milk, and would explain why there is a bottle being poured (vodka possibly) at the end of the episode, and why Moss is able to drink it. Just a thought....
The other thought, now I think about it is there are references below about the drink they had from Heston Blumenthal's restaurant, where they add wine to milk. That would make more sense to this episode, and the bottle being poured at the end looks more like a wine bottle than a bottle of vodka, so ignore my previous idea:)
Did they never do the special?
As in “Rennum”
It’s ‘Ren-em’ industries
If you two want some more Moss goodness, you should watch Travel Guy.
“One fell swoop” is an old idiom. It’s legit. Shakespeare created the phrase. It basically means “all at once” these days.
if you are looking for something else from the UK and out of left field to watch try, They Came From Somewhere Else.
Having a glass pedal stool would have its advantages would it not 😄
Reynholm pronounced like denim.
I wouldn't recommend it but you should check out the US pilot of the IT Crowd remake. It's basically the same as the first episode of the original, same script, yet some how not funny.
It is actually damp squib...!
Flappy bird
I have a feeling the show may have been cancelled hence the less satisfactory ending, hence why the special happened
Angry birds?
an episode you'd appreciate more if you were english
Its funny how this is an episode of not pronouncing things properly and they cant pronounce a word that is always said throughout the series
I find it amazing that after watching 4 series where they say the name Reynholm 50 times, that you still can't say it. Americans are so funny
Rain holm
@@andywrong3247 Why are you even commenting on other youtubers on this channel I am subscribed to both and as you may or may not know King and Queen Boomer have a very young baby and as any loving parent will tell you it is hard work with not much sleep so yeah they will be tired, so them being forgetfull about the characters names are more understandable, being a hater for youtubers who get a name wrong is quite lame
@@rinoaheart6538 SIMP
@@rinoaheart6538 Being critical of anyone doesn't make you a hater. King Boomer has zero excuse for not remembering characters' names, regardless of how much sleep he's had. It's unprofessional to run a reaction channel and be 3 episodes in on a series and not know the names of the main characters.
Even if you can't remember them you can put a note next to your monitor out of shot to prompt your memory of any key details for the show.
A squib is an old term for firework. Saying something was like a damp squib is saying it failed to go off properly - was underwhelming in some way.
It's also the special effect device actors wear so it looks like they are getting shot in films.
i did think it was the gunpowder "packet" that went into old rifles before the bullet, or maybe cannons
@@miff227 Yes I think that was the origin - gunpowder - gets damp and it's a disappointment. I think squib has been used over the years for a number of small explosive devices, maybe?
I was well into my thirties when I found it I’d been saying it wrong all my life and the phrase isn’t, “a dump squid”
@@alpine_newt The device the actors use is a small firework. It's a small explosive usually wrapped in paper/cardboard so if it gets wet it no longer works efficiently.
Guys the suit that Douglas made ..the joke was it was a copy of the suit that heather mills wore to her divorce proceedings with Paul McCartney
I didn't know that. 👍🏼
Wow talk about a reference nobody outside Britain would get x) Finally 13 years later I get it
it was a law suit
@@theotherside8258badum tish
You win a prize for that one, good sir
I’m surprised that case wasn’t thrown out of court because I always understood that legally speaking she didn’t have a leg to stand on!
The milk thing is a joke about Heston Blumenthal, a chef who cooks really strange and weird meals. It's meant to be some sort of white wine. But to be honest, I'm surprised you were so confused about them drinking milk when they were just eating invisible desserts and chocolate radios. It's all a joke about his strange recipes
Its pronounced Rennum 😂😂
'Wills mum' was also the woman in the episode that had the funeral in it, who Roy said to "Sorry for your loss, move on"
I always wondered if they meant to do that, because she's his mum/step mum and his wife.🤷♂️
Was that her? No way
@@thatsthat2612that was really her.
@@thatsthat2612
Yep. Shame she's so sexless, though😛
@@walesstarI think it might have been intended as a joke like either they’re the typical CEO wife or Douglas and Denholm have eerily similar taste in wives
It's been said before but get onto Black Books next, ace series.
And just so you know that was gemma chan playing female sulu in her second appearance. She was also in the countdown episode with a fellow Marvel Star Wong. Having said that, Roy is in the Marvel universe too, its all connected.
"Why are they drinking milk?"
That's because the restaurant is meant to be one of those "avante-garde", rich-people-eating-weird-crap restaurants.
She was also at the funeral as Denholm's wife in "The Golden Child" so though forgotten she played Douglas's mum or step mum strangely enough 😂😂😂
You were only disappointed with the season finale because you had put the show on a pedal stool.
Did you not hear Douglas state that the milk was wine?
You won't get the Heston Blumenthal reference, but he is an experimental chef, who creates very eccentric dishes, things like snail porridge, Bacon ice-cream and a lot of the items on the table look like ordinary things found on a dining table but they turn out to be edible most famously the candles on the table that are lit can be eaten as a dessert.
So it wouldn't be outwith Heston's repertoire to make a wine that looks like milk.
His most famous restaurant is called the fat duck hence the flappy duck, the game you are thinking off is Flappy bird but this episode aired long before that was a thing.
This was the last regular season IT episode but it wasn't intended by the writer to be the last episode, but the cast started to become in demand for other things so it became increasingly difficult to get the main 4 together for recording. The special that you will react to next happened due to a rare chance that they were able to get all the cast together so Graham Linehan quickly wrote a special for the occasion.
You think about watching Black Books next. It's also written by Father Ted and IT crowd writer
Guess you can always watch Black Books, complete the hattrick, definitely no drinking milk.
The outfit is a copy of Heather Mills's suit when she took Paul McCartney (the multimillionaire) to court.
Matt Berry is hysterically funny "TOAST OF LONDON" AND "TOAST OF HOLLYWOOD" 👍👍👍👍👍
There's still the actual final episode to watch. The special from 3 years after 👍
I just hope you guys are lining up the series "Black Books" once you finish this. Another Graham Lineham classic (co-created by Dylan Moran).
Personally I'd rather see them take a break from the Graham Lineham stuff for a bit, and maybe react to some of Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchants UK sitcoms, we know they appreciate their comedy but they've never watched any of their scripted shows. For me Extras and lifes too short are must watch for this channel.
Extras is a slow burn …
The Flappy Duck is a take on Heston Blumenthal's restaurant "The Fat Duck".
Probably couldn't use the original for legal reasons.
And I'm not going there either as I'm not that rich.
And the app was called Flappy Bird.
It could also be abbreviated/condensed into a Cockney slang form of the 'F-word'...
e.g. "I don't give a flappy duck about knitting"
The 'sign' is also a NOD to mixing up the letters on the 'Hotel Name Sign' at the start of the 'Fawlty Towers' series - with the letters being mixed up from the _(actual)_ 'Fat Duck' restaurant name to the 'Flappy Bird' app name...
Theyre drinking wine that looks like milk because theyre supposed to be at a famous restaurant the Fat Duck run by conceptual chef Heston Blumenthal. Look him up for the cultural reference points 😊
I'm on tender hooks for this one 😜
I think his post was meant as a reference to saying things wrong so was deliberate.
I knew someone would not get it and and reply like you have just done LOL.
I believe you REALLY got me with a 'Whoosh' ('over the head' moment), because I had to delete a LONG comment about why you had said 'tenterhooks' wrong. Then I thought about it and realised you were saying it wrong deliberately and I had fallen for it... WELL PLAYED SIR! 😅 😂 🤣
'Everyone has blind-spots'. That's the perfect reply to that kind of thing. It just defuses the whole situation. I still amaze myself with new ones. 🤣
There’s a final episode left.
You generally pronounce it "Ren-um" :) Douglas Reynholm, Reynholm Industries
Not to forget Denholm Reynholm
Confucius say man who represent himself in court has fool for client...
May want to try Extras if you havent already.
The Inbetweeners and The IT Crowd were both Channel 4. It's all connected
20:15 in a nutshell the difference between US and UK sitcoms. Theirs are wisecracks and zingers, ours are about character. You have to know Moss to understand that "Your name is Maurice Moss, is it not?" will send waves of confusion through his analytical mind, trying to work out whether he should say yes or no.
Yes, you couldn't imagine the respective actors acting out the situations from 'The IT Crowd' on 'Friends' or 'The Big Bang Theory', for example.
Americans usually say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less". It's such a little change but it's infuriating.
It's shorthand for "(as if) I could care less". As a Brit I find it amusing that people get annoyed at Americans for saying the opposite of what they mean; we do it all the time. "Lovely weather" we say, when it's pissing down with rain.
Sad the last normal ep. Just special left
yeah this episode was a bit of a damp squid compared to some from season 4.
I think the one off true final episode is a lot better though.
Another good one, boys! Copyright? Why do you still have it up, when 99% of other reactors, that I also watch, DON'T have it up. I've just watched Tim Vine on the Brad & Lucy channel, and there's NO Copyright up, to obscure the view.
Please start watching community next 🙏🏻❤️
There's still one more episode
last of the summer wine, a british comedy drawn out 30 years more than it should have been
"BLACK BOOKS" NEXT!!!!
FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER
BENIDORM ALL HILARIOUS COMEDY SERIES😄😅😆😂😄😅😆😂😄😅😆😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
There was supposed to be a fifth series, but by the time it came to making it the cast had all moved on to bigger things.
There is a special after this
I think you guys would enjoy watching some of Heston Blumenthal's TV shows
He is a culinary genius who applies scientific thought process to his dishes to obtain amazing and unique results.
Liquid Nitrogen gets a lot of use and his Fat Duck restaurant has a long waiting list for anyone wanting to eat there.
If you can get some insight into his work, it will put this episode of IT crowd into context. Edible menu etc.
His restaurant was shut on one occasion for food poisoning a customer.
Mighty Boosh
Why did they assume it was milk? I don't know what they were drinking but I suspect it was coconut juice (ok milk) mixed with something else. Most probably a cocktail. Anyone know?
A colleague of mine once asked why people who left our team all left to this same company, and when I asked what company? He said "that pastures new place everyones talking about" 🤦😂
Please do Toast of London, you will not be disappointed.
Have you Reacted to 17 minutes of Dirtiest Jokes on The Big Fat Quiz?
They aren't drinking 'milk,' it actually is wine, that just looks like milk. The chef that is mentioned is real! Heston Blumenthal is known for making weird creations (I want to say he made actual versions of the edible wallpaper, etc, from Charlie and the chocolate factory film). So a wine that looks like milk would be a normal thing, as would edible cutlery 😂
I think you should give the UK "Office" Christmas Special finale - you might like it.
It’s a spoof of The Fat Duck a famous restaurant in the UK. The game was Flappy Bird.
You know where else you know Victoria from?? This show, she also plays Reynholms mother in the funeral episode...
It's a 'Damp Squib'. As Squibs have gunpowder in them.
Most British shows don’t have finales at all. They film and come on quite irregularly compared to the US often so they aren’t sure if they are done or will be back in a couple years. Some return for a Christmas special or something that serves as the defacto finale.
A man who represents himself in court has an idiot for a client.
True, that was said by a barrister, but y'know.
Why are they drinking milk? I am sure they navigated both left and right hand turns on the way to the restaurant. It's not as if they won the Indianapolis 500
A squib is a small explosive firework that goes of with a loud bang. A damp squib cannot be set off. You cannot light the fuse. Therefore a damp squib is a disappointment.
I'm pretty sure they based the suit Douglas is wearing on the Sixth Doctors.
Have you watched a series called Man Down ? It stars Greg Davies . Very good a bit mad !!!
Not sure how you can watch 6 series of a show where Ren-um is pronounced many many times and still be calling it Rain-home in confusion.
Black Books next! Also by Graham Linehan, also hilariously insane.
Now that you've come to the end of the IT Crowd journey since you started out as a music channel you might want to react to Matt Berry's music
I can't believe you guys never watched the finale special
It’s is Squib as that’s a firework. So it is “like a damp squib” no bang 😂
If you more Matt Berry hilarity, you should watch What We Do in the Shadows TV series (plus the film to start with, which he's not in, but...)
Pedal-stool would be a great brand name for a unicycle company.... :)
I’m triggered by people who say pacific rather than specific
The suit douglas wears is the same design as the one Heather Mills wore at court when she divorced paul McCartney
