- We dive into the details and installation of the FuelSafe / Radium Engineering race legal fuel cell system in our Nissan 350Z drift project. Our set-up consists of an SFI and FIA legal fuel cell from FuelSafe, Radium Engineering's Fuel Cell Surge Tank (FCST) system, and will be powered by two E85 safe fuel pumps from AEM Electronics.

Mike with the Hands Up at 11:10, what a champion!
Literally everything the Asian dude says is entertaining because his grin. Get this man a TV show.
yes! i love it ...i first saw him on hoonigan
XDDDD
I had a chemistry teacher like this. He would talk about potential death in contact with some chemicals in the lab with this same grin and tone x'D
I'm so behind catching up on your videos. Unlike a lot of the stuff on RUclips I can't just play them in the background while doing other things on my computer because I am actually learning something by watching them. Keep up the great work.
The happiest man on RUclips, that smile is infectious.
I see that 300zx😎
Mike Kojima is one of my Idols. Would love to work around him or even have a car built by him one day. He also shares my affinity for Steph Papadakis and his insane build quality
This answered so many of my questions!
Thank you so much for making this video.
Will be installing this and the spare tire fuel cell into my 07 STi!
MotoIQ writer is one of the best!
Awesome explanation. Very direct and to the point.
So nice great job explaining it
2 of my most fave ppl in one video!!
MotoIQ ... Fantastic content. Thanks. Several observations, if I may: (1) I don't work auto, but power gen stations -- Doesn't having the FC lid exposed in the cab make the cab Class I Div II? Just askin'. ... (2) 10:30 -- Make that voltage (pressure) drop. Starting of the pump likely the most vulnerable point. Typical multi-HP AC squirrel cage motors may like min 85% rated voltage or thereabouts, not familiar with fractional HP DC motors. ... (3) Somewhere there's a contact / contactor that energizes the fuel pumps circuit and it must be able to handle the Back EMF from the collapsing motor coil field upon de-energization, I believe, else the circuit could weld shut (ON). Perhaps I'm wrong ... again. ... (4) Kudos for recommending application specific fusing.
Exactly the kind of info I was looking for - nice job!
Wish i had this guy for a neighbor
Tbh he looked so happy explaining everything and she looked so bored like she didn’t even care what he had to say
Perfect guide thank you guys
🙌🏻
Question.. can this same set up be used in a modified daily driver honda(off road law rules dont apply where am from) like how many gallons does it hold vs stock and are they any tank size options to replace the stock honda tank??
The short answer is yes, but look into both Fuel Safe and Radium Engineering as they both offer different solutions. For example, Fuel Safe has different capacity cells that can be used with or without the FCST and Radium now offers tanks that can even fit in your spare tire well.
MotoIQ perfect, thank you!!
Love you Mikey K
First! If you ain't first you're last.
Whats the story on the 2 Z32's in the background?
Both are VG30DETT powered and are customer cars that came in for engine rebuilds.
So where is Mike's z32 then ;) Love the videos btw keep it up!
On a storage rack collecting dust... :(
Lady Z33 and the famous Z
why did you change the engine?
What about a vapor line...?!
Loool the awkward hands up😂
im only subscribing because mike kojima is super awkward
We'll take it!
Great bit if kit, horrible fuel pumps though!
Too bad fuel cells are not legal
on a late model OEM car for the street.
LOL, finished my sentence
So they're legal on a for ex: Old american muscle since they probably don't have replacement fuel tanks or something?
It could interfere with the evaporative emissions system.
