- Chilling recordings between Lawrence Ray and Claudia Drury were recently released as exhibits in the trial of Larry Ray. In this recording, Drury states that Ray put a bag over her head and poured water on her naked sitting in front of an air conditioner in a hotel room. Lawrence Ray is accused of operating a sex cult at Sarah Lawrence College, with Claudia Drury as an alleged victim.

I'm familiar with a LOT of cult/toxic relationship/manipulation stories, and as far as pure manipulative abilities, this guy is at the top of the list. He did utilize certain tried-and-true control techniques (both being the 'father/therapist figure, as well as BS 'debt', like when he said Santos owed him $47,000 for 'ruining' his things). But as far as being heavily manipulated by just sitting in a room with him, Lawrence Ray is a master. He utilizes a lot of NLP, and works subtlety and effectively. It's like what the psychological evaluation of him said during his custody battle - (I'm paraphrasing, but a couple pages were shown in the recent 'Stolen Youth' documentary) He's impossible to evaluate traditionally, because of how manipulative he is. So much so, that even a well-practiced psychologist wouldn't be able to evaluate him using traditional means.
It's what makes him so dangerous.
