  • What do you guys know about Battle Network?! I have fond memories playing Battle Network as a kid and I never really completed White Version so I really wanted to do everything there is to do in this game as an adult.
Now I actually lied in the title of the video. There are 3 bosses I didn't show and they are Metalman, Kingman and Protoman. Only reason is because they are not actually villains...it was a tournament arc they appear in, and Protoman is an optional boss...plus look at the length of this video already. However, they will appear in my Ω Boss Video!
The reason I wanted to do the "Story Boss Battles" is because you don't have much to work with in the beginning and it's cool to see the progression in the playthrough. TBH the early game can be hard because it takes forever to charge your buster attack (even when you do charge it it only does 10 damage) and you don't have any good chips really. Also, some bosses, such as Beastman can move really fast compared to Megaman's Lvl.1 stats across the board. It isn't until you get the NaviCustomizer that you can manipulate/enhance Megaman's performance abilities in combat. Don't forget to check out this video's follow up video: • Megaman Battle Network...

I feel like a large part of the difficulty comes from people not really getting into folder making and generally just making overall simplistic folders with strong looking chips. I did the same back in the day.
I recently started playing Battle Network 4 again and streamlined my folder around the S code since your starting folder has a lot of sword and wide sword in the S code and area grab S as well. I have just been finding myself tearing everything apart with ease, especially once I got some Longsword S for the Life Sword Program Advance.
It was a world of difference coming back to the games with folder building knowledge and making more streamlined folders. The game became a lot easier when the codes stopped getting in my way.
I also remember not thinking too much of custom style and custom + navi cust parts, but now I completely swear by them. Aqua Custom is probably my favorite style.

For real I used to have strong chips all with different and often strange codes like X, V, Z, U, H etc. Even now I like having some off code chips just so that it doesn't become too easy I guess (Like 10 Chips of one code and 10 Chips of another code with some * chips mixed in instead of having all 30 chips one code) As a kid, I never got any style change besides Guts, but now as an adult I have to say Custom is the best style!

I get that feel. It's what I love about the aeries: how just one revamp leads to a much better folder in different Scenarios.

Yeah. When the legacy collection drops, I'll likely go for wood custom given the chance

Somehow a lot of people have 3 as their first game as kids which is probably why they remember 3 being a lot harder than it should, and there are a lot of unintuitive gimmicky chips that only show up here and never again. The chip descriptions being...simplistic at best doesn't help at the slightest. Meanwhile most people would remember the overpowered navi and giga chips more so there's even less incentive to experiment.
BN3 also expects you to completely revamp your folder for a specific boss which can get tedious.

Yeah. Instead of being purple, in Battle Network he is more of a sky blue. I always thought the name "Japanman" was kinda funny. Like, what went on with the localization there haha
