i remember Perron playing with Keith Tkachuk when i started watching hockey. Now he’s teammates with his youngest son.
Perron mentioned that his son currently the same age as Brady was back then
@@JD200_and the cycle continues
@@JD200_Time for Brady to get kids if he hasn't then
@@vipeholmskolan6052 think he had one recently actually
Joe Thornton played against Wayne Gretzky and Moritz Seider. Let that sink in.
There's of course the classic example of Gordie Howe playing against rookie Gretzky (retired 1998) after playing Dit Clapper (debuted in 1927) in his rookie season.
I was at Kraken Dev Camp this morning where Francis announced the Tolvy extension followed by Catton signing his ELC live on the ice! ✍🏻
Was happy when Seattle picked him up off waivers
Every team should have free development camp attendance for any fan that wants to attend.
They usually do.
Love that slapshot on the PP by Eli, glad he's staying!
So happy Tolvy was extended! His shot will work well in Disco Dan’s system
Seattle should be a hell of a lot better next year, excited to see what that team does
Like what Seattle has done. Hope Montour drives some emotion in their lineup and forces teammates to increase the give a crap meter since he can be a pretty annoying S disturber which can drag linemates into it
I'm not ok with Montour signing in commieland and putting on the ugliest jersey in hockey. 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮 what a terrible move.
@@winkletown8828 if you think Seattle is a commietown then you clearly haven’t truly been there in years. It is full of conservative tech bros and conservative tech companies. Most of the budget every year goes to the police and there haven’t been May Day riots in years. All of that is very not commie. Idk just don’t judge something based on what others tell you or what you glance at. Plus, those jerseys are sick and everyone ranks them high so you must be high ✌🏻
@@winkletown8828brain rotted lol its not moscow
Overpaid for montour 😂
@@overwatchtactical888 if you ain't t drafting them ya gotta pay em. Right shot, 1st pairing. Kraken don't have any ridiculous contacts yet. They'll be fine
Kraken had a public development camp today - It was fun to see all the rookies scrimmage.
Side note - saw the new Kraken Fanatics jerseys. Hate them. Logo looks really cheap. Was really disappointed.
So glad I got all three of my Adidas ones@@belle302
Extremely happy with Yzeraman. He inherited a team that Hollnad drove into the ground...HARD. Detroit keeps falling in the draft despite being the worst team for years. And there is still improvement year over year. Last year they were in playoff hunt until OT in game 82. Now they have the deepest prospect pool. Yzerman has been absolutely fantastic!
We must trust the Captain to right the ship
Datsyuk at the Dev camp in Detroit was something special to see
Yzerman literally never says anything and doesn't care what we think lol respect
So much activity, thank you for staying on top of it! You're the MVP
i like that many NHL teams are streaming their rookie camps on youtube. Saw the sharks yesterday and they had a big crowd who wanted to see Celebrini.
as for my Habs, Hage, Thorpe and Florian Xhekaj were among the best. Fowler has a replica mask of Patrick Roy and that's cool
Morin signed an ELC with Calgary as well 🔥
Thanks Shannon, another great video
Perron being an absolute glue guy as always
2:53 some of by best friends were guys I fought in camp or rivals from other teams
When I saw Parekh live in the OHL last year, he looked angry there too. Some people just have those expressions haha
Enjoying these videos and looking forward to the next season!! Also, I got 2 Hershey Bears t-shirts to celebrate their 13th Calder Cup and their third back to back championships.
There's a hurricane that's likely about to hit here on Sunday night so yay break from the heatwave
I had the first view that's never happened to me before
CONGRATULATIONS and GET A LIFE
I was at the dev camp when Ronnie announced the deals. Everyone in the building was happy about both of them.
Edit: just watched some more of the video, Catton signed his on the ice like you said we did with Wright
6:57 Bless ya
Yay summer!
Dude, why hasn't Perron bought Zub dinner already? He was the first guy to call for help for Larkin.🤦♂️
No hatchets burried if you trade Hoffman to the Pens though.
McLeod for Savoie 😳 I don’t know how I can still be a Sabres fan at this point….
Sabres fans on HFB trying to stay positive 😂😂
I honestly don't think this is as bad as people are making it out to be. Do I think we should have got a pick as well? Yeah, for sure. That being said, McLeod can be the 3C we need and we got another solid prospect back in exchange. Savoie was by far our worst up and coming prospect.
Kulich, Rosen, Rousek, Benson, and Helenius all look miles ahead of him, with Benson already being in the NHL despite being drafted later.
I want to see the Avs V Wings in The Cup final
When you talked about players putting the past behind them when on the same team reminded me that Dallas had signed Avery, so that's unfortunate.
Good for you, Pat Verbeek will keep your workload down this summer....
Stevie Y doesn't talk 💩! He is known for STAYING THE COURSE!!
Trusting the Yzerplan again?
@@choppergunner8650It has yet to fail, why not?
@@chrismdb5686 all these years and still no playoffs?
@@choppergunner8650 Are you not aware of the state the team was in when Yzerman inherited the GM job? Detroit had NOTHING, and they've never received a top pick to help kickstart their rebuild either.
The Red Wings are a masterclass in how to run a franchise into the ground for a decade by hanging onto the past. Pittsburgh looks like it's going to repeat their mistakes.
@@chrismdb5686 it's because they don't have Zito
Detroit has really rough division to get in to playoffs, so I can understand why Yzerman doesn't want to give promises. Considering if nothing interesting happens, Florida, Toronto and Boston takes the 3 spots and then there is still Tampa too as highly likely candidate to be at least in the wild card. So most likely way to any other atlantic team to get in is to get last wild card spot.
Metro is the more interesting division now, since only one that I feel like is really locked in to playoffs is NYR, rest is much more harder to predict currently.
Calgary needs to tank and get the #1 pick next year! Gear up for the future new building.
Regarding the discussion about Perron and Zub, for you youngsters, here’s an old hockey tale…. In 1951, Jean Guy Talbot slashed Scotty Bowman on the head, fracturing Bowman’s skull, ending Bowman’s hockey career. Eighteen years later, the St. Louis Blues acquire Talbot in a trade, and guess who his coach is??
Yup. The same Scotty Bowman!
And BTW, Talbot was an integral part of the early Blues defense corps. Scotty used Talbot all the time.
Pro hockey players are wired differently than most of us!!
If Claude Lemieux had been traded to the Red Wings the season after the Draper hit I am not so sure the Wings players would've been able to put that behind them.
When Do You Think Tij Iginla Will Make His NHL Debut? Will It Be This Upcoming Season?
Nope, goes back to CHL, tries for a 100 pt season.
Celeb, Levshun, & Lindstr might be the 3 draft picks from this yr's draft class - that I see making the NHL this yr. The rest are atleast a 1 or 2 away. Cattn might have a small chance also of making the Kraken.
omg my name is Yannick (Yan-eek) and I go by Yan so every video you tak about Jan Jenik my brain gets crosswired because I'm SO unused to hearing my own name lmao
Can’t wait to see the absolute cluster that is Buffalo Sabres hockey roasted on this channel…
Hi Shannon, is there a reason why teams would sign their prospects to their ELC if they have no intention of playing them in the NHL that first season? Surely that's just burning 1 or more years of that dirt cheap contract. Are they able to put off signing the ELC to a later date? (I'm a Brit so I'm not massively in tune with the rules.) Ta
Players who sign their ECL are eligible for the main camp, not just the development camp. Likely someone like Pahrek won’t make the Flames but being able to attend the main camp with the nhl guys is good for his development too
If the player doesn't play in the NHL, the ELC contract is extended for a year. Possibly up to 2 years for certain situations. If the player isn't offered a contract, its possible for them to re-enter the draft after a couple of years... there is that factor too.
The prospect tournament is pantiction bc flames attend is more telling for me what prospects are ready ahl are nhl.
So is CapFriendly going down today? It’s still up and I am internet archiving so many of the Oilers pages right now
why those pages are gonna be out of date v soon and puckpedia has the same info
Tonight
You really don't need to Internet Archive that. It's literally going to be outdated info by tomorrow
@@choppergunner8650 just for nostalgia
@@choppergunner8650 I am also archiving my archair GMs lol
I remember Perron trying to take Kadri out with a flying elbow immediately after Kadri scored in the game where he had a hat trick, Round 2 of the Avs' most recent championship season. Perron is a great player, but he tends to overreact and do stupid shit with high injury potential.
Parekh does look a bit sad...
So what is the plan in Detroit then? They seem to be doing a lot of nothing. A lot of those free agent signings last year did not go well and their depth issue doesn't seem that well addressed yet either. If Trouba was really their golden ticket move this year, then I have a lot of questers about the Yzerplan.
The Yzerplan is in the toilet. he's rebuilding via trades now and UFAs. Drafting in the top 5 is over anyway since the team will not tank anymore.
remember when pierre dorion said that the rebuild in ottawa was over and they'd be in the playoffs? spoiler alert, they VERY did not make the playoffs that year or any year since. yzerman doesn't want to repeat that fiasco
Strongly disagree. The only bad free agent signing from last year was Justin Holl. Even he would admit that was a mistake. This year, the top 6 has improved with Tarasenko. Goaltending has improved with Talbot. Berggren and Edvinsson will be with the team full time. They still have Seider and Raymond to sign this summer. I believe Stamkos was their guy going into free agency, but seeing what Nashville gave him, that would not have been smart considering the Seider and Raymond deals that they need to figure out. Yzerman also said that another trade is possible this summer. As long as the team continues to improve on the ice, which they have been each year since 2020, then we shouldn't be jumping to these conclusions when they haven't even played a game yet this season.
Tell me you don't follow the Wings without telling me you don't follow the Wings lol
@@kylecam22 I am not a fan of the Compher signing. And I know Copp was 2 years ago but that was not a good deal at all.
I mean at least he doesnt look like a freaking serial killer in his mugshot. Way too many people (ironically esp people who regularly smile) look like they're a serial killer or they're about to kill someone in their drivers license photo or photo id picture (this is the ID Ontario uses for those of us like me who dont drive). Apparently the reason they don't let u smile for Gov't id is because it messes up the photo system police use to ID u if u commit a crime.
I know Shannon has said that he likes what Yzerman is doing, but I really don't know what Yzerman is doing. I look at Detroit's lineup, and it's alright, but I don't see the end goal.
Yzerplan: hire the biggest amount of goalies possible
And the Hawks give up on another draft pick. Entwhistle, R. Johnson, Stauber. Tell me again why I should be excited about all these draft picks they've accumulated over the past few seasons? Other than this Russian clod the rest of this draft will never see the NHL. Tell me I'm wrong and I have 1 response: Everett Sanipass.
the fact that Chicago passed on Demidov and then tried to get him at #4 via a trade with Columbus just shows how they dropped the ball. Bedard-Demidov could have been very scary.
There are draft picks that work out and draft picks that don't work out. Alex Vlasic being a shining example of a recent draft pick working out wonderfully.
Accumulating a plethora of draft picks is the best way to ensure the ones that do hit, hit big. Not every player you draft will become a staple in your lineup.
I have a lot of faith in the young guys in the system currently.
Yzermans long term plan is loooong term. Wait for it....waaaait for it.....waaaaaaaiiiiiit for it 😅
I think Adams is a worst GM in NHL.
