I love it because even though there is only one instrument, you cover all the aspects of the piece and Handel composed this piece for a choir and a full orchestra!
Very well spoken, Graham Daniels. I always played, but for the choir to sing. Jonathan managed to gather the accompaniment and the choir part at the same time. Amazing. Master's attitude.
Yes, the ultimate multi-tasking instrument
It’s beautiful even more when you realize that when there’s organ playing, all choirs of angels in Heaven are singing
Mozart arranged it for full orchestra from what I understand. The original is a fairly small ensamble in comparison with strings, harpsicord, and trumpet.
That is what an organ is made for
And He shall reign forever and ever! Hallelujah!
Thank you for this! God is good!
A gentleman from our church played it every year at Christmas and Easter. He has developed Parkinson’s desease and just two days ago had a stroke. Hearing you play this brings me joy as I pray for him and also for my husband who is battling cancer. God is good!!
I love the way he reaches for One More Stop just before the final bar. And the footwork is FANTASTIC...
I love Handel’s Messiah! A masterpiece of euphony!!! I am a devout atheist!
I love the work too! I saw it live tonight and the program notes describe it as "transcending any dogmatic bounderies". As a Pagan I certainly get to speak on this; I wholeheartedly agree with the program notes.
A magnificent start to 2022!
Majestic, as His Majesty deserves!
Lovely tempo
Это время будет всегда , пока есть музыка
That was absolutely beautiful. On the organ. What a blessing
Had to sing this in high school choir. Hated to sing it, but awe inspiring to hear.
Amen!
Reminds me of the 1st time I heard the Messiah in Hull, in that very hall. With the late Dr, Alan Spedding and the Hull choral society
I remember when our "new" organist performed this on Easter Sunday in our church (my home town is very small about 1.500 people).
Unfortunately he was playing here only for 3 years. And next one isn't even close.
This should be played the entire year. Not just for the Christmas season. It is such a wonderful piece!!!! ❤
Often played at Easter as well as Christmas
Fantastic !
My that organ has some real punch , thank you for sharing
Scott è una GRANDISSIMO!!!!
I love coming on RUclips and finding something new on the "Scott Brothers Duo" page. I'm sure your admirers also got used to these beautiful gifts every week. There's nothing like starting the first day of the year with Handel's Hallelujah. And you, Jonathan, who is from the composer's land, honor your homeland and the beautiful composition, a piece of this wonderful Messiah oratory, which the world will never tire of hearing. Thank you so much Jonathan and Tom. Happy 2022 to you and all of us! 🙂
Händel was actually German, but he got the British nationality when he started working for the court of King George if I'm not mistaken
Yes, you're right. 👍👍 I got used to seeing Handel as British and forgot about this detail. I was unfair to the German people. I apologize. But luckily the two countries are on the same continent. 😬 😜 😀 😂 😎
What a wonderful way to celebrate the first day of the new year!!! Jonathan an amazing musician, as is his brother. I have never encountered two brothers with such enormous talent! Gina Dodds, Bellmore, NY USA
When I felt more like a "De Profundis", you provided the best antidote to my sadness with Hallelujah!!!
Bravo! Bravo!
great pedal work
Great music and fantastic organist !
Beautiful!
W-O-W!!!
Clever use of stops, so all comes out clear and part melody on pedals , altogether a really enjoyable performance as usual. Again many thanks for Tom for first class sound and editing. What a fantastic start to the new year.
The Lord is risen, Alleluia!
Perhaps the best arrangement I've heard. MAGNIFICENT!
Hallelscottbrothersduoujah!
This Handel’s piece not only by the Scottbrothersduo brings tears to my eyes!!!
Ich bin begeistert und liebe diese Musik und liebe das Orgelspiel. Herzlichsten Dank Jonathan!
Fantastic.... the greatest halleluja song worldwide... thank you, from the lovely performamce like your others videos... 🙂...
I wish you a good new year 2022 and a lot of grets from south tyrol/italy 🙂
Meu Deus ... imagino os anjos, arcanjos, serafins e eu também louvando a Ti!! Glórias ao Grande Eu Sou que vive hoje é sempre e eternamente! Aleluia!
I'm so grateful you're able to find instruments that can do your talent justice! What a stunniung rendition!
Great Jonatan 👍😇
This particular organ sounds incredibly powerful!!
Every town hall should be so grand!!
Happy and Healthy New Year to all!!
Straordinaria melodia che prende il cuore! 💗
Resoundingly Beautiful Power Forward

wow!!
This masterpiece he play with exquisite skill is full of the joys and glory and solemnity
Stunning, I used to sing the high notes as a Treble in the Humphry Davy Grammar School choir and I've loved it ever since. Really nicely portrayed on the organ as always
Another great performance/transcription of one the most well known/loved movements of any choral masterpiece!
Wish I could have heard it in person with those deep base note going through me for want of a better word and body and soul become as one with the divine music . Sigh . Really terrific Jonathan and of course Tom .
Magnetic tune.
Glorious.
A really magisterial, uplifting transcription and performance. Bravo!
OperaNut 1756: Your wording is superb!!!
Großes Stück, grandios gespielt.
Amen!! All hail to the King of kings and Lord of lords -- our great God & Savior, Jesus Christ!! Come, Lord Jesus!!
Just amazing! Thank you!
Wonderful playing and with your new shoes on??? Well done that man.....
wonderful, thank you sooo much
It is very likely that this amazing song will be played on the Day of the Apocalypse.
To think that he wrote this in just a day is beyond incredible.
SCOTTBROTHERS DUO they are Kings of Kings and Lords of Lords Forever and ever Hallelujah Hallelujah!!!
Absolutely definitely supremely approved by G. F. Handel himself!!!
Magnificent playing- appreciate your talent!
Just beautiful! Thank you!
Gracias Jonathan, gracias Tom por los momentos musicales en el año que se fué. Lo mejor para ustedes en este 2022. Abrazo. (Juve Flores.) desde México.
Thanks Jonathan. Great way to start the New Year.
Jonathan, What about "Worthy is the Lamb That Was Slain"
The Messias - Handel oratory has several beautiful ones. There are even some parts that would be good for Easter. We're already fixing things for his head rsssss...
@@deborasgomes2022 Oh Please. Dear Me.
God is in the presence of Hull City Hall
Absolutely glorious!!
Superb!
This is wonderful, Jonathan!! Next, may you transcribe the Amen Chorus/"Worthy Is the Lamb That Was Slain" for organ?
Also, Happy New Year to one of, if not *the* best organist of our age!
THE best, hands down and thumbs up!!
Magnificent! Magnificent! Magnigicent!
Wow exelente, magnífico 🎉🎉
Qué mejor manera de empezar el año que con la música de los hermanos Scott!! Feliz Año a todos!!
Perfectly understand the organ and the sound is soft and quiet.🙏
This is beautiful and great skill! I admired to play like that when I was younger... Didn't get the training
환상적이네요.
너무 멋집니다 만세
While probably more of an Easter anthem, the glorious Hallelujah Chorus is uplifting any day and in every season. I’ve sung the tenor part many times in church and college choirs and always thrill to hear this heaven inspired chorus. As always, Jon and Tom brought new life, beauty and force to it. Thanks so much for going the extra musical mile all through this difficult pandemic. A fully blessed New Year to you two.
Great job of keeping the vocal parts fairly intact…marvelous playing !
Fabulous. A beautiful piece for New Year. I could almost hear a choir singing along. Just amazing. Thank you for sharing Jonathan.
Happy New Year 😀😀😀
La configuración de sonidos está muy bella , es acorde a la magnitud de la obra ,gracias, felicidades.
I love this chorale and you have plaved it well . The Messiah is one of the greatest Christian works ever written. Soli deo gloria
Fantastic acoustics...Beautiful church...Such Happy music to hear in these perilous and unhappy times.Thank you Handel and Johnqthon and Oh Tom for the wonderful footage
This is actually a city hall, not a church. Awesome to see a city preserve something like this, especially considering the inner workings of the organ had to be entirely rebuilt after being destroyed by the Nazis (as I understand this is more of a Compton than a Foster&Andrews).
Wonderful played as always Jonathan! 😁👏👏👏👏👏 Happy New year to both of you!😁🎊🎉🎆
Jonathon, a truly magnificent transcription that captures the wonder and awe of this masterpiece.
Tom, your videography captures the grandeur of both the music and the cathedral (Hull City Hall).
❣❣❣❣❣
Although Messiah is wonderful listening anytime of the year it would have been appropriate near Christmas!!
👌👌👌❤️
This is like a song for kings and queens.
Welcome in 2022!
Superb, and a vast improvement on the version with choir and orchestra, as usual.
I wonder how many years that solo reed spends in silence, waiting for its moment in the spotlight?
Many thanks.
Fantastic performance on a glorious instrument! I'm torn between this instrument losing its illuminated "buttons" in favour of the drawstops on the new console, but for me the drawstops win hands down!
❤
Brilliantly played on a magnificent instrument! Always love seeing and hearing you play, especially the Hull City Hall organ of my
home city.
Sadly I was unable to attend your November 2021 concert there with the Hull Philharmonic, was the Glinka Ruslan & Ludmila Overture on the programme your wonderful organ arrangement?

I used to be soprano in the choir. After I ended up on the organ, I don't even know what suit I am today. Maybe "soprauto", soprano + contralto hahaha...
@@deborasgomes2022 First is for Soprano,
Second is for Alto,
Third is for Tenor and
finally is for Baritone. Got it?
@@joshuasanchez7577 It's been a long time since I sing. I think maybe I should still be a soprano. What I do know is that I've saved the choir and church by singing several times. It is part of the organist's job. Hehehe... 🙏🏾
An excellent playing of the composition. If I could offer one thought as to improvement, it would be that John should insert strategic pauses throughout the piece so as to give the acoustics of the building time to reinforce the song. Insert pauses so the acoustics can work their magic. A second thought: when recording these songs, the Scott Bros need to turn up the recording volume. If its too loud, we can always turn it down, but once we're at 100%, we can't go any higher.
Absolutely stunning
