My God! I have been looking for this book for 50 plus years! I remember when I was about 10 yrs old reading it in my homeroom and science class! So great to have connected again with it! Will look for the sequel also!

It is a wonderful book. You might like Earth Abides. It's very dated but I always liked it. I keep hoping to find an audio of Inherit the Stars, another good read.

Bloody incredible story. Following through the steps as the humans rose from completely desperate hopelessness to an overwhelming super force was the most satisfying thing I've read in a long time. Great narrator aswell 👍👍👍
Absolutely one of my favorite classic sci fi books. I sure wish there was a part 2.

This is the best sci-fi that I have read, heard in years.
Thank you. This one of my favs. I have the original paperback that I don't like to mess with anymore because of it's age. This was a treat to listen to. It sounds like it was done as a radio show because of the episodes.

Those terrans have no qualms about practicing genocide toward the Gerns and nepotism runs riot. I love the story and Mark Nelson is a first class reader.

I completely agree. With the advent of long-term story telling prevalent in modern movies, i feel like this could be a multi-chapter series. If not a full film, maybe a series on a streaming service like netflix or hbo-max.
I think there is enough material to make an awesome miniseries.

The Survivors is a science fiction novel by American writer Tom Godwin. It was published in 1958 by Gnome Press in an edition of 5,000 copies, of which 1,084 were never bound. The novel was published in paperback by Pyramid Books in 1960 under the title Space Prison.

A pretty good read, I would give it a solid 7/10 and would recommend for younger readers. Lacks any sophistication or much depth but a fun read.

I Imagine a lot of the Rejects would stay and maintain training bases on Ragnoroc. . .(Spoiler Removed). . . the prowler Segan, I mean maaan, so yeah I liked it.

Dunbar expedition now I know what my great great great grandchildren will be doing. Why was this called Space Prison? It should have been called Planet Exile. There not prisoners and there not in space.
Or, they could go into business selling talking pets and attack beast.
Why did they not move north with the animals?? That doesn't take a genius to understand. It's a survival technique. To avoid the heat.

2 sun's so it I think was sappost to be hot everywhere pretty much. The animals migrate a far distance more then the people could of traveled
