But reducing production means they are anticipating reduce sales so that will hurt revenue? So how can this be good news? And with weak demand, I doubt a price increase can be achievable.
Broadly speaking, the EV industry need a next gen battery technology if EV wants to go mainstream. Otherwise short of govt regulation forcing consumers to buy EVs while banning legacy gas vehicles, its tough.
Because lower production also means lower cost. By reducing the cost of materials used, they similarly match the reduced demand in terms of revenue. This means that their revenue won't be affected in the negative.
Think of it like this, instead of wasting 300m to build 300 thousand cars, and only 200k of them are expected to sell. Why not just make 200k cars and get rid of the loss from production leaving only revenue? What they're doing is the smartest move to ensure that they aren't atleast losing any profit, meaning you won't lose any money, but there's still a chance in a rise of revenue with the new biden administration announcing its $98B EV charger building and renovating plan announced in January.

If you think the price of Tesla is going down, you should not consider it a hold. I sold out of my Tesla position completely in December 2023, and I am very happy I have not taken the ride down! I think home investors (or pros) should not play semantic games with stocks rated "hold" that are not going up. I am easily beating the averages and it is due to taking a common sense attitude to investing.
Even completely discounting robotics, self-driving, battery production, etc, for Tesla, can you compare (e.g.) Ford apples-to-apples with Tesla?
For example, look at the debt Ford has vs. Tesla cash pile.
Not saying that in itself would bump the P/E from single digits to the 30s, just saying that it might me something worth mentioning when comparing companies in the same industry.

Demand has been slowing across the auto industry not just EVs. In China this is due to a slowing economy, in North America it's been due to high interest rates making borrowing for cars expensive. This is important because it does not reflect demand for EVs specifically due to consumer preferences or anything like that.
Yeah, but the remaining folks who still do want to buy a car, it should an EV. And outside of China, it should be a Tesla. The slowing of demand _should_ just impact ICE, outside and China and Norway.

If they fail to make environmentally friendly cars in the future, they will eventually decline in the market. Tesla has the ability to produce environmentally friendly cars most affordably and efficiently. I recommend that you set aside any prejudice against Elon and try driving a Tesla at least once to evaluate it. For the sake of the Earth.

This is the wrong time to buy their stock. The situation might be very different a year from now, but now is the wrong time to buy Tesla stock. Things change. Yesterday's great stocks don't necessarily continue to be good stocks.
I’d make the argument that now is the best time to buy this stock. Share price driven down due to inflation (macro). Especially if you view the company as a tech company and not just an automobile company. Their investments in AI can’t currently be monetized and this will not last forever. I’m a bull that thinks the company could 10x by 2030. I’m DCAing
Tesla on sale due to Wall Street’s tendency to price target stocks purely on their current trend. Follow my thought here… Wall Street’s core purpose is to encourage transactions, not to help people build successful portfolios. If you don’t understand Wall Street’s focus on transactions to feed Wall Street infrastructure their commissions then you are totally duped by the real way they are monetized! Great time to BUY TESLA!!
TSLA is much more then only a EV company, what about energy storage, fsd, and Optimus robot? I appreciate your videos, but for me this video makes no sense. You cant compare Tesla with Ford 😅

Tesla needs to get their Cybertruck ramped up and announce their next GEN car and get FSD fully operational so they can start making robotaxis. Just selling cars and meeting or missing the analysts' predictions is insufficient to move the stock far.

I understand with less supply, that does force prices up if people do want to buy EVs. And I do realize in general, the market for EVs is slowing down, at least for now. My biggest concern on potentially buying the stock now vs later is the presidential election. I read in the media (for good or bad) that if Trump is elected president, the media has stated he would remove EV subsidies, and open up more oil drilling, and remove the mandate date to go all electric. Whether that will happen or not, I don’t know but if it does, I would think it would be an extreme negative for all EV stocks, especially Tesla. That’s why I’m very hesitant on buying right now.
That’s just the media. When did Trump say he would remove EV support? He isn’t against EVs, he just said the obvious. He’ll support whatever wins.

Overall, I don't like car companies. Too capital intensive, cyclical, competitive, riddled with oversupply, and poor negotiating power with workers.
