Here are some random thoughts I had about the film because I really wanted to comment and show my support:
I love how in the scenes on earth there are jars containing what looks like a tree or moss inside, and then at the end of the film we see the mother and boy paralleled. The boy initially sniffs a fruit from a tree and then lies in front of a very old looking tree which appears similar to the moss / mini tree. The boy is seen sniffing the pot earlier on in the film, maybe he is trying to get used to his future environment? Maybe the new environment is a simulation, and so because technology in this film appears to be able to simulate the senses, maybe that jar of moss is linked to the simulation, maybe the boy can smell his mothers scent and be comforted by her while he is in space?
"I am you, and I am me, I am every person that will ever be" - aah i love this quote, i have also had thoughts like this before, and to this day I still believe that we are all the same being. Anyway I think this quote symbolises the Boys way of coping with separating from his mother, its his way of knowing his mum will always be there. It's also interesting how shortly after the monologue there is a shot of a green house and then spray painted on it are the worlds 'killed the world'. I think this is a direct reference to the greenhouse effect and climate change. I also think its interesting that it appears after the monolouge which makes everyone out to be one person, maybe the director is saying we are ALL responsible for climate change.
i dunno these were just some random thoughts, if anyone does see this comment, please comment aswell because it helps the you tube algorithm allowing it to get the recognition it deserves!

Can't explain how much i love this, Ö is on another level this is EPIC 💚
I think this story is roughly about the world after an apocalypse of some kind or major world event, and the kid is either sent away, ‘saved’ or recruited to leave and go to space (maybe to continue humanity or find a new planet). The hyper normal it yos the secret garden on the ship, which can only be a simulation which is curated and limited, and not as expansive as the natural world stil Lon earth. The electronic music (with water sounds) in the secret garden segment simulate or even are a way to express how the natural world/natural elements from earth sound and/or feel, but because electronic music is produced in a time where electricity exists, there’s an electronic/digital way of viewing natural elements (which is also how the boy may view it having grown up with some form of digital and electronic media). This does still remind him of home (Earth), and in trying to simulate Earth, becomes hyper normal - like the mean average of the natural worl balanced out, rather than raw and as it occurs on Earth.
Maybe it’s just on my mind, but I can’t help think of climate change when watching this.
