When my daughter was young, I use to put her pictures she colored on the fridge. when her friends came over, I told them if they signed the pictures they colored, I would hang theirs up. Well, I ended up with an entire wall in my living room covered with children's coloring book pictures. and the kids had smiles on their faces as they looked for theirs. I would switch out old with new ones or my entire house would have been wallpapered with them. My daughter is 46 now so thanks for causing me to relive that wonderful memory.
@@roketynoramallorca2882 thank you for your reply, it made me edit my comment to make it clear I was referring to the pictures they colored not their actual photographs.
In the mid 80's when I was about 15, my Dad took me to see him live. Ever since, I've been a fan. Carlin was a genius philosopher disguised as a comic. God I miss him...
The stuff I have is stuff I have collected for years just the right amount of stuff to show the story of my life. Nothing in storage. When I do travel it's just what I need.
I tend to overpack too, but it's more of a Boy Scout thing, "Always be prepared." I don't know if something will happen, where I may be stuck somewhere longer than intended. I've had that happen before, snow storms closing the airports in NYC. Got stuck in my hotel for an extra 2 days. But I had 2 extra pairs of pants, 4 extra pairs of underwear, 3 extra t-shirts, 3 extra pairs of socks, etc. I'm not paranoid, or a cynic or anything, where I assume something bad or stupid will happen that screws up my schedule. I just subscribe to the philosophy "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it." There's no extra laundry to do, I organize clothing into bags before packing into the suitcase, so there's room for everything. The extra stuff is kept separate, so if I don't use it, it just gets put away when I get home, it doesn't have to be cleaned. It's really just a peace of mind thing. And this doesn't even touch the organizational skills of my wife, who usually packs everything for our trips.
George Carlin’s comedy is more cerebral than the comedians nowadays. He was always like that though. A lot of play on words and starting with something simple and then expanding it to a ridiculous level. I loved George Carlin and his type of comedy because he didn’t worry about offending people and just sort of told it like it is. You should do the bit he had off of the beginning of Parental Advisory Explicit Lyrics. Had to do with language.
Although he never went to college George was brilliant at dissecting language and semantics early on in his career with bits like "A Place for my Stuff", "The Difference between Football & Baseball " and "7 Dirty Words". In the 90s, during his brilliant second act of his stand-up career he started dissecting society while still exposing the hypocritical semantics of our socio -political, theocratic, and economic mores.
George was a comedic Yoda, for me! He helped form the sense of humor I still have! This routine was actually from an album called "A Place For My Stuff".
From "A Place For My Stuff", his 9th album in 1981, after a 4 year hiatus. That album marked a fairly sharp divide in the collection of 20. I have most or all of the peices from about 10 of them
This was always one of my favorites, along with Driving, and The Hippy Dippy Weatherman. Actually the whole 1978 George Carlin Again show is hilarious. Come to think of it, there's not a single special I don't like. I think you guys should just do all the specials in order(cut up into blocks of course)so she can see the full evolution of Carlin comedy. But that's just the crazy idea of a Carlin addict. And Merry Christmas Alexis and Burch
Great reaction to one of my all time faves. I have numerous Carlin albums on vinyl. The irony is, I have too much stuff piled up in front of the record bookcase and can’t get to them. Drat. Merry Christmas Alexis and Burch, Joe Spiegel
The problem with stuff is that it accumulates over time if you are not careful. "Oh I might need this someday!"-- into the closet it goes. Never need it.. but if you ever do it's there.. along with 600,000 other things you might someday need. You want to get rid of the most of it just so you can update your 'I might need it someday' storage with newer/potentially more useful stuff. It's a never-ending cycle. The one good thing about it though.. is when you get to gather all of that stuff together and dump it on someone else.. making it now their problem lol
Robin Williams,Whoopi Goldberg,Billy Crystal used to host Comic Relief on HBO every year to raise money for the homeless.Stand up comics & sketch comics used to do their sets.Whoopi,Robin,& Billy used to do funny Broadway type musical bits
No cards? Not keepsakes? Man, Alexis has it figured out! Edit: Omg I can't wait to see her Kinison reaction. Good one Burch! Hope you both enjoy the rest of the holiday week.
So one of my greatest revelations was finding out they had these places in Europe called 'stores.' If I get over there and find out I need a pencil, I just go to one of these 'stores' and buy a pencil. Amazing! 😉
Sorry, this isn't about George, but a live music performance by FRANK MARINO "LIVE AT THE AGORA THEATER " The tracks are "STRANGE DREAMS" and 2. "The Answer". Frank is an unsung guitar master and just didn't get the recognition he truly deserves. Enjoy !
great comedy, my favourite australian comedian is celia pacquola, if you get a chance check out the two best aussie christmas songs, white wine in the sun by tim minchin and how to make gravy by paul kelly, both lyrically describe the true meaning of christmas for me, family
Thanks for that. Carlin indeed dug deeper as the years went on. Ya'll might enjoy this - it's a video of Louis CK's speech at Carlin's honorarium, and it's a touching take on the comedian's prowess and his influence... ruclips.net/video/R37zkizucPU/видео.html
Oh Burch, before Alexis is too far along to review for awhile. You'll have to show her Robin Williams at the Met talking about child birth. You can go wrong with George Carlin. Look forward to the next.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13

Carlin was a man before his time. All of his stuff hits hard, and holds true to this day. R.I.P George.
I disagree, he was always right on time. Just had to listen. Like with Rice Crispys.

That’s wholesome.
George reinvented his comedy at least three times: from clean to dirty, from etymology and language play to comedic actor, to full social commentary.
This was my favorite bit when I was a kid
Merry Christmas to you Burch, Alexis and respective families. May it be a peaceful and happy one.
Thank you and Merry Christmas Paul
George on Saving the Planet 🌎🌎
Carlin. My favourite comedian of all time. Guy was pure genius. The goat. Rip.
Classic George, RIP thanks for the memories. 👍🙏🙏
"They're stuff is shit and your shit is stuff!" Truer words have never been spoken.

Great timing because lots of people were gifted more stuff. 🤣😂
Hoping you both had a wonderful Christmas!
Saw him do this live after this album came out in '81. Funniest man on the planet.
Love his Icebox Man

I had forgotten about this bit by Carlin, thanks for the reaction. Merry Christmas ✌️
George is a timeless being.
Reminds me of Steven Wright who said, "You can't have everything... where would you put it?"
highly encourage you to show her more Carlin things x'd is so fun

I got stuff, lots of stuff, more stuff than Alexis would ever dare to think of. lol.
Once you hear him do the Hippie Dippy Weatherman or his Hair Poem you never forget.
George Carlin and Lenny Bruce are my 2 favorite comedians of all time.

Thank you and Merry Christmas Darin
Airplanes and flying is my favorite
You _HAVE TO_ do Bob Nelson's routine about football from 1984 at Rodney Dangerfield's night club. It's hilarious!
@Flickering Box I have the vinyl called "A Place for My Stuff". I wish I could articulate like Carlin could.
Carlin was a master of the English language. A comic genius.
Merry Christmas!
And merry Christmas to you Bill

Merry Christmas ypu guys 🖖 you gotta watch his bit "4 groups that gotta go" so good 😂

Go where the food is!!!!!

10:54 you know the vacation is over when you've run out of clothes.
You should do Robin Williams.
George Carlin is the master.
You should do Jim Gaffigan too. He's the best when it comes to food.
And Robin Williams... he was so outrageous! Not about food, just in general.
Bacon 😂😂
In my mind his best "word humor" is the bit called "Advertising".
Check out Fussy Eater from George, anyone who has ever dealt with a picky eater will relate.😂
One backup jeans, two backup shirts and underwear. I need my stuff.
You should show her the "losing things" bit
Sorry, this isn't about George, but a live music performance by FRANK MARINO "LIVE AT THE AGORA THEATER " The tracks are "STRANGE DREAMS" and 2. "The Answer". Frank is an unsung guitar master and just didn't get the recognition he truly deserves. Enjoy !
Been a great fan of mahogany rush since the 70s he was the reincarnation Jimi Hendrix
If you're looking for more stuff with George Carlin to look into, I'd suggest Bill and Ted's and Dogma. Both, superb pieces of entertainment.

you guys have to his bit on the difference between Baseball and football it kills me to this date
If the two of you haven't reacted to George Carlin 7 dirty words, I'd like to see that reaction

George Carlin - *losing things* please 😎
I saw him in vagus 😂 a guy I like right now is dusty slay.
Will check him out SR
@@flickeringboxofficial 😎 cool ! He is great.
A lot of times with comedy you’re not laughing cause something’s funny, you’re laughing and saying to yourself, Yeah, ain’t that the truth
carlin aged like wine and his best work was always political or social commentary.
harsh critique of consumerism; well deserved and to the point of our 'civilization'.
Kinison?! lol Oh boy
So does Alexis have a drawer with plastic bags from the grocery store or full if rubber bands and batteries
Oh Burch, before Alexis is too far along to review for awhile. You'll have to show her Robin Williams at the Met talking about child birth. You can go wrong with George Carlin. Look forward to the next.
Could you Please React to one of these George Singleton " DAMN GOOD WOMAN 'OR Justin Moore " BACK THAT THING UP " VIDEO TY
Younger Calin was a bit more 'observational'
I think that is how I would put it.
React to Bill Hicks. He was the best.
First bit we are doing is the Waffle House :)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
Pleeeeeaz react to his bit, "religion is bullshit" if you haven't yet!!
👍👍👍👍👌✌️🙏🎄
Carlin on religion
Fluffy racist gift 🎁 basket
I don't like stuff either.
Mid 80s was a bad era for carlin. He cut the ponytail. And was still on carson, but wasn't funny
Five heart attacks will do that to a man. It's amazing he lived so long.
I thought he was pretty funny, but I was young, what did I know? 🎉
I prefer the cynical George.
👉Your set has too much stuff.
☯Better turn Miss Minimalist loose on it...
I used to pack way more than I needed. Not any more. I went on a 7 day cruise last year and I fit it all into a carry on suitcase and a back pack.
"Carlin on campus"....Did this bit much better...
