Great tips! I have one. Was looking for a way to view the material associated with the current selection in slate without using the "Pick Material" or "Get Material From Selected", turns out that if you go into the left side bar, in the "Scene Materials" tab and right click over the title you can choose "Filter Selected Objects" and voila!!
Great tip! Thank you! Will be very useful to me. And to add more, you can right click again and deactivate "Show subtree", so only the materials of the selected objects will be shown on that list, and not all their maps and childrens, which polutes the list.
I don't know if anyone pointed this out but, for me, one of the best "tricks" is to hold Ctrl while dragging a node to "insert" it within a link. Say you want to add a color correction. Instead of linking everything all over, just hold Ctrl as you hold it over the link and a symbol should appear. It should appear already linked in place. Don't know if this helps, but it is quite useful in my workflow.
Cool, thanks for sharing these! Regarding trick #10: no need to select all the nodes and do Shift + click to copy the material, just select the material (not the nodes) and do Ctrl+Shift + click, done :)
Some mix from the classic view and this slate view would be great for archiviz! But, if you are not the master of Python programming, forget it....anyway, we are waiting for some New Years suprise vids! Congrats bro!
