Great video, DJ! Thanks for referencing the D'Amato piece too; it's a great read. And I was lucky enough to play a round with Gary, and he's an incredible story teller. Would love to see more NLU in Wisconsin!!
I grew up in Hartford, but moved out of state shorty before the course opened. I was fortunate enough to make it back for the US Open and it was amazing to see the topography of the course. If I remember, they really didn't move any dirt when the course was built. Instead the course follows the natural contours of the Kettle Moraine. Also, it's pretty cool to see Hartford called out on NLU.
Great video! I sat in the front row of the grandstand by the 15th green for the final round of the US Open. The pin was cut in the right side of the green. There weren’t many birdies on 15 that day. Missing the green to the right was almost a guaranteed bogey or worse.
Play wise Erin is better ...... Sight wise ..... Whistling Straits....scenery is better.......I was a caddie at Both courses ...... And they are both worth putting on bucket list to play ...... Those and the other Kohler courses ...... And also ..... Bandon Dunes...made sand valley so they are all Great ....
Torrey Rufus interesting. Yes both are on my list. The wind at whistling looks like it can be a force but have to try to play there at least once for the views. SV looks sweet
They are all great courses ...Wisconsin is definitely a great golf destination...... I have played all the big courses in Wisconsin ....... And have never been disappointed ........ Best thing for Whistling is to do a stay play for all four courses ....... They have a rental to take a day trip to Erin Hills ..........if it were me i would play Meadow Valley at Black wolf run then the Irish and whistling then move to River and BLR and finish with Whistling .......then either on one of the days you play the two first courses run down and play Erin Hills ....... Or stay a extra day in or around Hartford then play Erin Hills .....
You're incorrect about only being one golf course there. There is 5 other courses within 10 minutes of Erin Hills. There is about 10 others slightly further in the area. The 5 listed below are played by locals more than any other courses here. 1. Hartford Golf Course 2. Washington County Golf Course 3. Scenic View Country Club 4. Kettle Hills Golf Course 5. Arrowhead Golf Course
Washington County is a great track. Love that course. The only other one I've played on that list is Scenic View. It was just ok. I've heard Arrowhead is fun.

I live 1 mile from this course! Awesome video guys!
DJ We need more content from you. Give us some unseen footage from Strapped please
Watching this in prep for my trip to EH next week. Can't wait to see Na's comments on setup on the LIV tour!

You gotta stop at Ox & Cat's Bar and Grill after a round at Erin Hills. Great local bar with awesome food.
Wisconsin has the greatest golf courses!
looks fantastic. really hope we get a few midwest/great plains tourist sauce seasons at some point
Love this place, I described it as magical!

Erin Go Bragh, Ireland until the end of time. The motto of my football team, Hibernian FC
What's better Erin Hills or Whistling Straits?

"made double on the last two holes from the middle of the fairway to shoot 84"
No comment from Dad? Come on man!
For a US Open course the tee boxes were disgraceful and some of the greens didn't look that great either.
Pure
Lol. "Hitting your 80 something shots...." I wish.
"Hitting your 80 some golf shots and going home" *Handicap detective would like to know your location*
DJ- “hitting your 80-some golf shots and going home”
Soly- *scoffs*
Most boring US Open in History. Kinda feel like the course deserved better!
Brooks Koepka would disagree
210$ for a round of golf.. you got to be kidding me.
That’s actually cheap compared to most other public former US Open venues. Pebble Beach is $500+ for a round
Spencer Von Rueden Believe they just bumped it up to 650
Maximilian Förster totally worth it if you get a chance. It’s that good.
