- This is a lifestyle I grew to get used to. Living in a van poses its questions, so I answer them in this video by showing you a day in my life
My name is Krystal and I am a studio portrait photographer, going to college and living in a van. I'm sharing the journey for my personal documentation & to inspire others to pursue what they desire regardless of the setbacks.

I love how for once I watched a video of van life that actually shows the struggle, like all of the other girls (not hating) aren’t doing it because of the struggle, mainly bc they have the option and opt out for the “easy and fun route” sis rn actually gotta struggling/ hustling/ studying and this is what we need to see more, people to who we can relate more

No job, just go to gender studies twice a week? Sounds wretched. I certainly wouldn't want to live such a hard life, having to attend a college with a 24 hour gym, pool. Lord knows how this girl survives.

YOOOOO IM TRIPPIN RN!!! Im a freshman at UNT and I've always wanted to do what you're doing, so I looked up "living in a van in college" I started watching. and when you went into the REC I was "wow that looks a lot like UNT" THEN IT WAS ACTUALLY UNT. that's crazy...

OMG NO WAYYYY I only went 1 semester but wow. Yup I’ve surprisingly never found another teen vanlifer at UNT. a few adults around Denton but yo that’s so cool. You should totally get a van and do it!!
Oh I graduated in 2017. Been thinking of doing vanlife for grad school. I miss Denton T.T

I work full time at an Oil refinery and live in my Tahoe full time. Soon I am going to fully convert it. It's not a van but it's an excellent amount of space for one person. I shower at Planet fitness. Best part about living in a vehicle is I don't pay rent. You can't beat that guys.

Im doing the same thing out in New Zealand! Glad to see others doing it and making it work! Other people need to realize that just because something is different, it doesnt mean its wrong or hard! We still have a routine, it just looks different than the average persons. :)

I hear that, I went to college for 2 years and had to stop because I had to get a full time job to pay someone to live in my overpriced apartment. It was depressing, I’m going back to college now and saved up enough to buy my van. The real suckers are the ones that pay someone else to live.
I'm finally making the jump and buying a van to move into next month! Thank you for this!

once you showed the gym I knew where you were.. and then you showed UNT sign. UNT is responsible for the highest student debt among all texas schools, so yeah you'll need to live in a van!
Wish I had thought of this in school...would've helped pay off some of my student loan debt smh what if...impressive

This just came across my recommended videos...clicked the video, saw the rec center and immediately realized this was where I graduated from!
You make living in a van look intriguing. I'm also a college student and can see myself potentially doing this in the future, at least for a semester or two!
My main concern would be how do you deal with the heat? I'm also from Texas (although closer to Houston) and worry that I would melt during the summer.
Is it difficult to find places to sleep on campus? Has parking services ever given you trouble for being parked overnight?
Madelyn Rose i did get in trouble once but it was my first time parking somewhere non-stealth. i eventually figured out the right spots (walmart, hospital, near the dorms where others overnight park)
I currently go to Unt and it's so cool to see how you utilized your car.
Great video - lots of good info for those with fears and anxiety related to simple things.
I live in a bus and travel and all of the same problems are solved in the same practice manner.

i’m not hating but i don’t recommend using the hand dryer on your hair
they suck in the poo particles
that are in the air and spray them back out
never use a hand dryer !!!! xx
And make sure you never flush the toilet or else the poo particles get put in the air.
When do you think you would start working on the van to make it more livable instead of a bed put into the van hook up the solar panels in having a full size kitchen side of it / bathroom?
My son is using a 5'x10' trailer for his dorm room in northern New Hampshire. MUCH cheaper than renting a room.

If you have insulation in your van (almost everyone does) it shouldn't be too bad. maybe a small heater

That's smart. I'm just thinking about what happens if you needed to get into the toilet quickly. Do you just park near that nice gym or what. With this you can have some good savings for a home that you actually own rather than burning it down on rent. Cheers for the smart girl.
When I was going to college back in 1996 to 2002, I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment. The rent was quite affordable, and tuition was quite low as well. I guess, your generation stuck in a very tough spot.
This woman is the definition of beautiful, what in the world.
My wife and I are going to voluntarily do this. We've been talking about living out of a van, at least while in school, so wtf would we pay someone rent when we could have an adventure every day and save a boat load of money? Easy choice for us.
You can buy three meals a day if you purchase correctly. Honestly I can do so spending less than what one meal at a restaurant would cost. You can get three meals for less than $5 if you do it right.

No disrespect sincerely no disrespect but I’ve been watching these vids about two years an point is I think a lot of ppl living n cars use the space as a restroom. I’ve been under the weather lately an have been attached to the bathroom I can only imagine if I was n a van wat I woulda had to do an I think who really wants to tak about pooping n a car

What happens if it gets too hot or cold in the van?

Come on girl it's very easy to make cheap meals you could make something very easily and quickly with just a little stove top all you would need is a little butane also so many channels on RUclips show you how to make easy quick meals. Nice video thanks for sharing

"Well - I can speed because there are no other cars on the road" "I guess I can go into the 7/11 without shoes and a shirt because no one else is inside" "I guess I can smoke next to the door because no one else is outside" RULES ARE RULES ALWAYS...
Because people are changing in there most of the time. They don't want you taking selfies and someone naked in the background. But she was recording because no one else was in there, she wouldn't if someone else came in
