  • The victorious advance of the two panzer groups paving the way for Army Group Center has created an insurmountable gap between the mobile units and the foot-borne infantry, most of which is still busy in clearing the pockets around Vitebsk and Orsha. Unable to progress due to a lack of fuel and infantry support, this week the panzers of Army Group Center are forced to a standstill. And nobody knows for how long.

    I don't have the pocket at Veilikie Luki either, so definitely behind your schedule. Still, I've learned a lot from your tutorials - much appreciated!

      The pocket at Velikie Luki much depends on what the AI does and (more importantly) if the AI leaves gaps in between its lines. In this campaign, I have been kind of "lucky" in having the AI behaving normally. In all my previous attempts, I could just walk into Mogilev and Orsha without a shot being fired, as the AI would somehow focus its attention on the 12th Panzer Division south-west of Vitebsk.

    In my mirror game, on T3 I could not take Smolensk, so I just surrounded it. I took Orsha, not Mogilev, and crossed the Dnepr further south at Zhlobin. I didn't get the pocket you got at Orsha, I got a much smaller one just to the north.
