    Looks good, but your propane stove is going to get mighty hot, and I'm not sure the plywood is going to stand up to it. it's going to char overtime and may catch on fire

    • @DiscoFang
      @DiscoFang 6 месяцев назад

      It's not even plywood, that's a melteca face. Definitely not heat resistant.

    Why no grey water tank? It’s a grubby move to just let it run onto the ground.

    Super impressed at the entire van build but even more impressed with your project management and organizational skills. Building and presenting this project in such a coherent and economical manner is no easy feat. Your videos stand out far above other RUclips projects that meander and stall. Very well done. Congratulations. One tip: Try to look at the lens of the camera when you speak instead of the monitor. Otherwise, it looks like you're speaking to someone off camera and not engaging the audience. If you need a reminder, attach a reminder to the camera like a note (which says 'audience here"), a drawing (maybe a happy face), or a little plush toy or something in line with the lens. Talk to that and it will look more professional.

      Thanks so much for the feedback! We film on an iPhone so we're definitely trying to break the habit of looking at the screen rather than the camera haha! We're so glad you've enjoyed following the build 👌

    Hmm... I think the design would work out well enough, though the sink and fridge being so far from the actual cooking area is a bit inconvenient. Also the single burner stove will make it hard to cook anything other than single pot meals, though I guess a small rice cooker of some sort would help with getting real meals done if you've got enough solar for it (also good for if you don't want to go out to cook). The lack of ventilation holes for the mattress is a bit concerning though, because a mattress needs to "breathe" to prevent mold forming since a van is likely to build up condensation. Still, it's a pretty decent design. 👍

    • @masonandsarah
      @masonandsarah  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! Another single burner stove could sit on the bench top next to the current single burner stove too if required 🤗

    • @ChibiChula
      @ChibiChula 2 года назад

      @@masonandsarah True. Or whoever uses it could get a Japanese style rice cooker/steamer with a double layer basket that could cook a full meal for two people with no risk of fire in about half an hour. I believe those come in 12v versions specifically for use in cars. Very convenient if you want to cook inside the van safely on a rainy day. Might need an independent battery with a folding solar panel to run it (because I'm not sure your current solar system would be enough power for the cooker plus fridge) but it would be a good backup system to have anyway. But maybe that's me being paranoid, lol. 😅

    Just found your channel. Great build. 👍 will you be putting those breather thing-a-ma-jabs, for under the bed mattress to prevent condisation and mold?
    Really like your layout and design. Very different from what we see here in the States. Again very well done 👏 🤙💪👍

      Hello from Aus!! Yep, we plan to put some holes in the bed base for the mattress to breathe.

      They were produced from 2005 until 2017 essentially the same with a few tweak updates. The 4WD models come with 2.5 diesel until 2007 when it was updated to the 3.0 diesel and also a 2.7L petrol motor. The petrol/gas is the same motor as the Tacoma and Sienna and a few other Toyotas in North America. If I was importing to USA I would not touch the diesel.

    • @DiscoFang
      @DiscoFang 6 месяцев назад +1

      Except import into USA is restricted until 25 years old. Canada has a 15 year rule so you may start seeing these more and more.
