I would love to have stuck around for the second tune hehehe. Edit: Been a PG fan for over a decade, still an endless supplier of motivation and influence. he's getting there. still too "wordy" for this song. amazing, of course. but I felt Martin's solo was better for this song. It's not easy to ditch the speed once you've got it and especially worked at it for so long. I'm guilty of the same thing. don't have near the speed but enough speed to experience the trap. the instant you play for the sake of playing fast instead of complementing and uplifting the same way, I think the emotional buildup to goose bumps can get interrupted for the listener and the emotional power is temporarily lost (particularly with this kind of song). Engaging the emotional part of the listener's brain is key. once you get too technical, your left brain engages more. Why women don't go to see Rush. Same reason approaching a woman with a spreadsheet explaining why you should date = fail. If you can tap into and maintain the emotional connection, it just builds and eventually combusts into one of the most memorable songs ever. And as a guitarist, it's so hard to know when you are doing it because its like being able to drive 120 mph on the autobahn and being told you have to slow to 55. Not as thrilling, but you can better appreciate the scenery : )
@@ImranKhan-xp3ih I think if anyone can, he can. He seems like he's open minded and always trying to improve. He needs deep breathing exercises and maybe a beer to chill out and relax more for this type of groove.
