In football every star relies on a ton of talented players at other positions to win. For the NBA 1 or 2 key players per team have leverage over if you have a 10 win season or 50 win season. So ownership in the NBA allows more and the media has to be in good graces with 5-8 big named players to get breaking news or big interviews. In the NFL every year a young healthier player is also out for a job to steal from a worn down version whereas in the NBA stars don’t have much threats from incomplete one and done college kids coming in.

The problem is LeBron and Anthony (I show up occasionally) Davis not Darvin Ham. If it is the coaches fault you would replace 31 coaches a year, there was only 1 winner last year, Michael Malone. The player’s salaries are way out of hand. Most people struggle to get a 3% raise. Some of these players are getting 40 million dollars a year and only playing half the time because of injuries. It seems the players that are only making 5 (holy shit) seem to never get injured. The people trying to get a 3% raise are the ones buying tickets. Lower ticket prices for the people so they can afford to take their family to a game.

Whistle on nearly every possession. Foul calls when there is literally no contact and on obvious fouls no whistle or wrong call is made. I'm really excited about the teams, but the refereeing as it is, I lost all interest. And I agree at this point I'm so so bored with LeBron and the Lakers.

  • @wmden1

I'm old enough to have watched NBA since the early/mid 60s up to around 1990. What little I have seen of the NBA, in recent years tells me that the NBA is ruining the game of basketball. The officiating, or lack thereof, is a large part of what is ruining it. Players, who only think of the money and fame, and not the game itself, or their fans, are also big contributors to that ruining. I haven't watched a whole NBA game since around 1992. I have watched a few women's college games. Right now, they are more fun to watch than NBA, but some of the officiating there is questionable, at times. I will say that, at least they still call traveling, although, it has to be pretty obvious, when they do.

They only have about one and a half superstars and inconsistent role players. But, the main issue is that they are all Hollywood actors putting on a show. They fired the coach. Darvin should just tell them honestly, "You can't get ham out of a turnip."

After LeBron had the Lakers make one of their worse trades ever (for Westbrick) they are going to let him get his friend to coach the team and waste a pick on his son who couldn’t even crack the starting line up on a bad college team?!?!?! Why are the Lakers treating him like he is in his prime and in in the middle of winning multiple championships for them?

The NBA is garbage. The real game of basketball disappeared 20 years ago. I know so many people who were NBA addicts who have completely given up the game, including myself. I lived and breathed basketball for 35 years and couldn’t be less interested than I am now. What a shame.

Player-centric NBA started with Jordan, who was created by Stern. Celtics got old, Pistons partially disbanded and then the Knicks were put in check by new rules. It was brilliant for marketing. Fans were drawn who accepted Jordan bias, but many left, who didn't like the rigging. Imagine how much schooling Lebron would have gotten from the 80s Pistons or 90s Knicks.

There’s a huge difference with this nba crap and Kyle Shanahan, Shanahan and Lynch were dragged, were asked questions about it, had ppl wanting them fired or ppl saying they would’ve been if they weren’t lucky with Purdy bc I guess stupid ppl think just the first pick is the team and the later picks are out of a hat. That somebody else built the 49ers and Shanahan simply drafted Lance.. it obviously sucks for the kid, I thought he can be something but like them it dawned fast that wasn’t the case. There’s so many ways it can go but moving on as fast as they did despite the value used is why the 49ers are successful. And they don’t escape it regardless, it’s part of the story no matter what happens but anybody who thinks they should be over paying Lance right now to leave a hole in the QB dept chart needs to wear a helmet or admit the real reason it’s still being brought up. Was Lance a victim? Making millions of dollars? Were the Raiders victims of JeMarcus Russell? Is Montana a victim of Yoong? Or is that all football and the winners continued bc that seems to be what’s fair in that situation. Completely unlike big sports media putting access or personal agenda first while protecting players and ruining coaches but let’s really spell it out, all the jackssses pushing the DeJounte Murray “Poppavich won’t win again he’s mean and old” were part of the problem. Stephen Jackson in the media openly and obviously grudging against Poppavich over choosing Ginobili years ago. The narratives about how players like Kawhi and LeBron had to be coached a certain way, all that stupidity lends itself to this situation and what we are seeing. College players making millions today, which is fine and it’s fair, but they’re still sitting out bowl games bc they’re about to make millions of dollars. We all love players being protected physically but the Super Bowl saw multiple injuries and a week of practice on a shit field, the offense is just being catered too and we have QBs who are celebrated bc they pretended like they were going to go out of bounds and didn’t after the defense who thought they QB was going out of bounds let up. Bush league crap from a position that doesn’t need extra help at this point when there’s never been a better time to QB, like just imagine Aikman and Young and Montana and Kelly playing now, Marino would’ve been unstoppable. A lot of what’s happening is helping and it’s for the best, or at the very least fair. It’s still getting out of hand or going bad or being taken advantage of and to top it off we now need to know who sports media likes, cheers for or is personal friends with so we can decide if ppl are being honest when reporting. It’s ridiculous and getting worse, the dodgers signing everyone is actually so bad for the sport of baseball whether they win or lose imo, and ppl were happy about it. Sports in general are going in a bad direction, basketball could be going in another direction with some of these players who seem to want competition, bc that could really save a bad struggling product.

"Blame the coach first" isn't the entire NBA like this video makes it out to be.. it is mainly a problem with one team, the Lakers and Lebron. Trying to paint the entire NBA based off one team is misleading. The sports media have been very critical of NBA stars, Russel "Westbrick", DLO needs to go, etc.

This is the first time I've seen these two guys. (I wish their names were posted on their pictures more often - I haven't seen their names at all.
Is the guy on my left named Bill?
Is the guy on my right named Jack?
Anyway, that's what I'm going to call them.
I don't know which one may be considered as the top dog here but Jack certainly acts like he's the top banana. It seems to me that Jack keeps trying to prove his supremacy in the duo. He MAY be more in the know but he could be a bit more respectable himself. They're talking about this right now because of the guy (Patrick Beverley) who disrespected the fan by saying if you don't subscribe to my podcast I won't talk to you..
There was that one point when Bill said ....something...prick... And Jack (for the 100th time) cuts him off and then even refers to it by saying, "I did step on a great segue...." But he mostly never finishes his sentence and then he never says ", ..you were saying....."I wish he would try a little kindness and even feel a little humility.
There is a great level of content and I will give it a couple more chances but jeez! get real!
ANYONE please tell me if you think I'm wrong. (or like this if I make a good point.)

No, you have it wrong. It's about who you know in life. LeBron is a franchise killer. That bubble championship was a joke. The Lakers are going to regret this decision. They should just cut ties with LeBron and start a hard rebuild. They did it with Kobe. Why can't they do it with this fake ass goat.

LBJ aside - games in first round this year were much better, much more physical, refs have swallowed the whistle - thats 1 of the reasons Suns didnt have a chance against wolves - wolves are bigger, stronger and better on D with 2 bigs in the lane .
So if its your political opinion that games suck without even watching them its your right, hack after BLM crap I almost stopped watching NBA. Ive been watching less and less of playoff for years, following just a few teams I liked until this year.
Even end of this season league decided to zag finally with foul calls. That 1 little adjustment has changed a game for better - players are skilled, the trick was to stop foul bating and camping on the FT line.
As for Dravin Ham - he didnt forget how to coach he never knew how to, this is his first gig actually. Hes been really bad in every aspect. They had success despite of him. Brings us back to having political opinion - LBJ has fired all the coaches to devert blame, most of them were good coaches, so Darvin Ham is a good coach that got fired cause of the same thing. Both things can be true - LBJ is diva that fires coaches and Ham is a bad coach, and this is the case.
To sum it up if you want to talk about basketball and you start it with I dont watch games it kind of makes your opinion irrelevant, reason being you missed all the things I said, which are apparent to anyone that does watch.
As for ratings, who knows if theyre gonna come back up, even if the product is better, they alienated half of fan base, but quieting down on politics and changing game towards more defensive balance is a good start.
