News flash for those who think this video helps car thieves: professional car thieves ALREADY KNOW about GPS tracking devices and how to find them, they also already know how to bypass the door locks and the engine-no-start security. The speed at which a car can be entered, started, and driven away IS the primary factor for a car thief when casing potential vehicles. A thief with this device in the video would use it to find cars that DON'T have 3rd party tracking devices installed, not to target cars that do.

For the majority of us viewers, I believe the easiest way to find the GPS tracker is to look at the device in our hands. Google and Facebook already track you unless you have that turned off and check to make sure it is turned off after EVERY update.
Hi Daniel. As a cybersecurity expert that happens to run a wireless test and security company I can concur that you are absolutely correct. Security and privacy will always be counterbalanced by convenience. Some people want these features and some don't. The ones that do must be educated and informed that they could be tracked and hacked easier than those that do not turn on all features by default. Of course this product is about individuals being tracked by other individuals or organizations which is much different than Google or Facebook business models but the same principles do apply. Thanks.

Sorry you feel that way Jim, but we primarily sell to law enforcement agencies on both local and federal levels if that makes you feel any better. We do also sell to customers concerned about their privacy rights being violated by these same law enforcement agencies and others, but as you can imagine, we're not in the business of screening every customer extensively. Since we only passively detect RF over the public airwaves, I can confidently state that we are in no violation nor even close to contributing a privacy or security risk to any parties involved. The benefit of detecting GPS trackers is only a side effect of this device which is primarily sold to correctional facilities for the detection of contraband phones.
harryoakley Vehicle theft is at an all time 25 year low so I don't see how we're contributing to anything like this. There is always a balance between citizen rights and criminal preventions. The smart and honest pros simply use a sensitive receiver which will immediately tell them if a lengthy search is required or not. If a GPS tracker is detected, then they will initiate a search. Otherwise it's a waste of time to search a vehicle if you aren't sure you're going to find anything.

You can hire a private detective to sweep your vehicle and yourself. They would probably be using our product or something similar and it will probably cost several hundred dollars for a single sweep but you have instant peace of mind. Otherwise you can perform a lengthy search yourself for trackers. Here are some tips: www.bvsystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/gps-trackers-product-brochure.pdf
This won't work if your in a suburban or city area or if tou have a built in GPS device I to your car (like mist do) or if tou have any other GPS device such as your pho e ect near it
It will work but it is much harder to hone in on a specific signal when you are in a busy RF environment. That is why we always recommend users to drive out to areas with minimal RF activity. And vehicles with built-in GPS devices do not behave the same as a GPS tracker. They do not emit cellular in the same intervals because they are not doing the same thing as a tracker so they are easier to identify. And as far as your own phone, duh. You wouldn't believe how many users forget to turn off their phones when they are searching for any kind of trackers that emit RF cellular, Wi-Fi or BLE energy.
That would depend on the GPS tracker and its settings. Some trackers are only active while a vehicle is in motion (although some claim that stepping down on bumper is enough to trigger the accelerometer in GPS tracker) while other trackers transmit all the time. We would recommend waiting until vehicle is in motion at least 15 MPH in order to ensure that tracker is actively transmitting.
Hi Ninga. We sell products like these to law enforcement, military and government officials but get criticism from regular citizens for offering tools that "violate" their privacy rights. So we get critics from both sides. We do sell to private citizens but they make up about .01% of our customer base so there is little chance of our products being used for illegal purposes but the same thing can be said about knives or guns too. Videos like these go much further to educate citizens and law enforcement on the technical tools available and not so much for criminals. Firstly, criminals already know all about these devices. Secondly, there are many devices available legally for 1/10th the cost of ours. This is because our products are all factory calibrated and made entirely in the USA for multiple wireless security applications, not just GPS tracker detection.
@@Bvsystems Technology should not be blamed, it's the human intentions, I've seen so much cruelty in this world that I could no longer trust my parents
Since our GPS tracker detector does not connect nor transmit anything, it is not possible to detect it. Most GPS tracker detectors are also just receivers so they cannot be detected while in use.
When searching for hidden GPS trackers, we always recommend putting all nearby cellular devices into airplane mode (or just turn them off) in order to avoid confusing cellular signals with GPS tracker signals. But even if you cannot find or turn off a cellular device for some reason, our GPS tracker detectors can identify and distinguish between the typical RF energy that cell phones emit and the brief and infrequent pings that GPS trackers typically emit. It takes practice, but users can visually identify these signals compared to common cellular signals by using our cellular receivers.
We do not sell GPS trackers - we sell GPS tracker detectors. GPS trackers are very inexpensive (usually under $50 but require subscriptions ranging from $10/month up to $50/month) Our GPS tracker detector (detects all cellular signals as well) is called Yorkie and it's a one time purchase for $1450.
Hi .in about 1998 I got a device to put in the car to detect speed camera's and police radar guns. If I can find it would this detect hidden GPS tracker?
Hi Trevor. This device is built and designed for detection of contraband smartphones smuggled into prisons and government facilities. Since GPS trackers use those same cellular bands to communicate live too anyone tracking their fleets, secured vehicles and other mobile items of value, this device will also detect hidden GPS trackers.
This assumes that the GSM module is on, which it only is when in standby to receive commands; otherwise it turns on in intervals, or when the radio-silent GPS module detects significant movement. I'm just an average Joe yet know this, and you're an expert in the field and don't? Ok.
You are correct and yet our customers continue to detect and locate GPS trackers during these brief intervals and of course while vehicles are on the move. We just introduced an update allowing users to also identify unknown AirTags and other BLE personal trackers used for stalking that you might be interested in since average Joes are affected by this too.
@@Bvsystems That's truly great, but the percentage is under 100%, probably well under. Not exactly. Due to RF interference caused by different materials it must pass through and other nearby RF transmissions, there is no way to accurately control a detection radius by distance. But Yorkie includes attenuation and threshold control allowing users to adjust for general distances and only alert when a strong (usually nearby too) signal his detected. In other words, it's fairly easy to distinguish between signals originating from 10 to 20 feet away compared to signals originating from 50 to 100 feet away.

Well at least you got our company's origin date correct ;-) Car theft is way down since 1972 as well as from just a few years ago. Since we're selling to law enforcement and private investigators, I like to think that our security products have actually contributed to this reduction in theft.

Thanks.

Why don't you publish a vid on home made IED's while your at it.
What a load of crap. What your device really does is enabling criminals to steal cars without having to worry about a tracker.
harryoakley Vehicle theft is at an all time 25 year low so I don't see how we're contributing to anything like this.
@@Bvsystems What if the tracker is asleep or in battery save mode? Trackers rarely connect to network, unless there is an event to report to the server.

It should be a felony to place this shit on Someone’s vehicle
great info! does car have to be on and/or also moving when using detector?
That would depend on the GPS tracker and its settings. Some trackers are only active while a vehicle is in motion (although some claim that stepping down on bumper is enough to trigger the accelerometer in GPS tracker) while other trackers transmit all the time. We would recommend waiting until vehicle is in motion at least 15 MPH in order to ensure that tracker is actively transmitting.
You need to be careful what you post on RUclips. This video will do more harm than good. Thieves will appreciate your video.

Car Thief: Special thanks!!
i need a gps tracker detector detector so i know when my tracker is being detected. do you sell those?
Since our GPS tracker detector does not connect nor transmit anything, it is not possible to detect it. Most GPS tracker detectors are also just receivers so they cannot be detected while in use.
Will it still detect one if Onstar is on the vehicle or will that mess it up?
When searching for hidden GPS trackers, we always recommend putting all nearby cellular devices into airplane mode (or just turn them off) in order to avoid confusing cellular signals with GPS tracker signals. But even if you cannot find or turn off a cellular device for some reason, our GPS tracker detectors can identify and distinguish between the typical RF energy that cell phones emit and the brief and infrequent pings that GPS trackers typically emit. It takes practice, but users can visually identify these signals compared to common cellular signals by using our cellular receivers.
Very informative, can u tell me the cost for this GPS tracker?
We do not sell GPS trackers - we sell GPS tracker detectors. GPS trackers are very inexpensive (usually under $50 but require subscriptions ranging from $10/month up to $50/month) Our GPS tracker detector (detects all cellular signals as well) is called Yorkie and it's a one time purchase for $1450.

You are correct and yet our customers continue to detect and locate GPS trackers during these brief intervals and of course while vehicles are on the move. We sell wireless test, security, safety and cybersecurity products. One of the side benefits of products that detect cellular energy is that they can also detect active GPS trackers. That's the only claim we've ever made. We've worked with every single government defense department you can think of and many state and local law enforcement authorities and haven't heard a single complaint nor had a single return for a failure in GPS tracker detector because they understand (and know a lot more than you and I) about their needs and how to use tools we provide. Can the range be adjusted too a specific perimeter ?? Like can I put say I want 10 feet or 20 feet from the device ??
Not exactly. Due to RF interference caused by different materials it must pass through and other nearby RF transmissions, there is no way to accurately control a detection radius by distance. But Yorkie includes attenuation and threshold control allowing users to adjust for general distances and only alert when a strong (usually nearby too) signal his detected. In other words, it's fairly easy to distinguish between signals originating from 10 to 20 feet away compared to signals originating from 50 to 100 feet away.
what does the tracker use for a power source?
GPS trackers are small and portable so they use internal batteries. Our GPS tracker detector is also handheld and uses internal batteries.
Does this work for all trackers?
Yes, any tracker that communicates wirelessly to cellular base stations. Some trackers simply log GPS data and must then be retrieved in order see that data so these devices would not be reliably detected by any means other than visual.
