I agree. Did she hire someone to kill him then take her own life or did the man arrested murder him and then killed her because she knew? So confusing. I hope they get answers for the families and if the suspect is responsible, they ensure they make it more clear than what this news story did. They were all over the place.

At 18 yrs old in 2012 he took me under his wing and taught me as much as I could comprehend with electrical, hvac ect... we would go bowling every Sunday at 5am for dollar bowling then go have breakfast at nations and talk about the future. He was hilarious, kind, strong, encouraging, had flaws like everyone but always worked on himself and wanted the best for his friends and family even at his own detriment. last I talked to Mike was in July and if I had known it would be the last time I would hear his voice idk what I would do. The report gave some info. Not enough for most of the comments though. It seems possible the marriage was abusive. Likely the husband was the type with secrets & people feared for the woman’s safety. It tells us they were at least separated. That he was found dead after a week of being reported missing in September, & that she was found dead more recently “likely by suicide”. It tells us a man has been arrested in CA & that they are investigating it as a possible murder for hire plot. Could be that some business partner or someone else like even an overprotective father hired someone. Or could turn out the suspect is trying to claim it as a hit when it wasn’t. Lots more to come.

I live in Northern California and have followed this since it was first reported that the CHP commander’s husband was missing. The story came out in bits and pieces that are not making a lot of sense. They had a large house that I think was in CA or could have been in TN (local news didn’t make that clear) Husband left about a year ago for TN and she was supposed to retire and join him. Well, it seems he got himself a girlfriend in the mean time. It’s unclear if 😮this prompted the divorce, but it seems likely. After the husband died, the cop came to the girlfriends house and she reportedly walked right in and took her dead husband’s dog (shared custody apparently). This prompted the GF to call the police and Mrs was arrested and put on leave from CHP in CA. The man who was arrested is interesting. Was he dating the girlfriend and the husband butted in so he was killed. They’ve mentioned several times how he was a violent stalker. Or did the Mrs hire him to kill the estranged husband. She may have because she would have to split her California pension with him because they were married so long. I’m sure she didn’t want that to happen. The only positive is no children have been mentioned.

So with the horrible reporting here....Title is completely wrong as well. Kathleen called the police because she thought her friend the woman cop was in danger, later he disappears, they find the cop dead, and now the cop had a lover who killed the husband.....yet the friend of the cop feared for her life, and not the husbands. Talk about a friend who cannot read a relationship between two people....calling the cops probably got him killed in the first place, since it spoke of marriage issues and once he went missing, first person they are going to investigate is the spouse...thus she hung herself in shame. Is that the story? Not sure but that is what I pieced together here...even though the title makes it seem like a friend of a woman was found dead after a check was done by police....but Kathleen is alive?? guess I am confused.
