As a cowboys fan yall are forgetting the reason our team hasent made a Super Bowl in all these years.. yes Dak and before him Tony have had their issues.. but the real reason is Jerry Jones. Our GM Jerry never builds around his guys.. last year we needed a good RB we never got one.. we needed run stoppers never got them.. even in the romo days we couldn’t stop the run.. romo needed another WR but Jerry never got him one.. how can you expect Dak let alone any QB in the league to win when you tell them you need to do more with less. What team has had Super Bowl success doing more with less… long story short.. how can you expect the cowboys to make a deep run when their GM Dosent try to construct a roster that will address the teams obvious issues.. Jerry has been doing this for decades now..

Many. The ravens, eagles, bengals, chiefs, 49ers, Bills, Etc. For those organizations it’s about winning the Super Bowl not just making it.
I have been of the same opinion, Jerry sandbagged his team either out of spite, or to lower Dak’s price if he wants to resign him, or pure incompetence.
It’s prob some combo of those tbh. I also think this helps Dak/MM if they move on after the season because the rest of the league sees the deck they have been handed in this contract year from Jerry
I am a life long Cowboys fan and I always cheer them on and hope for the best regardless of circumstances but I also have been involved in football most of my life as a player, assistant coach and for 27 years as a sports injury Dr. so I like to think I am realistic and objective in my analysis and expectations. As such I will be shocked if the Cowboys are a really good team this year because in all honesty despite 12 wins 3 years in a row they haven't be a really good team for all of McCarthy's tenure (not that its all McCarthy). Truth is this team is sub .500 vs winning teams since McCarthy took over. They are consistently among the most penalized teams, they are sloppy and mistake prone, they are rarely well prepared for big games, they are amongst the worst in terms of clock/game management and situational football and their playoff performances aside from a good game against a very mediocre Bucs team have been abysmal. This year they have had a fairly significant reduction in overall talent level so I would be pleasantly surprised if they are a legit playoff caliber team.
Name me another team that has drafted four All Pros and seven Pro Bowlers in the previous four drafts. They are all still on their rookie contracts. I mean, they are all 25 years or younger. More are on the way!
The Cowboys don't have to overspend in free agency to get better. They will be much better simp0ly by virtue of their young players gaining a year of experience. The Cowboys are not declining, they are getting ready to explode.
The Cowboys are also great at finding undrafted talent. Last season, everyone was concerned about the kicking game and scoring field goals. So all they did was go out and sign a freeagent that ended up 1st team All Po in his rookie season.
The Cowboys have been cursed in the playoffs to be sure. However, so long as they continue to make the playoffs it is just a matter of time before they put it all together. Once they do that, it will open the floodgates for them just like in the 70's and early 90's.

Years ago, on an NFL Network show, I remember Marshall Faulk making a comment that was something like "there's a lot of teams who aren't trying to win a Super Bowl, they're just collecting money". Dallas is that, with Jerry.

There is absolutely no reason to believe any of the east teams improved more than Dallas did. Hurts will have a lot to prove losing his HOF center, there was a ton of drama for them last season between their WR’s and QB. Kellen Moore…. We were all elated to run him out of town, then he failed to elevate a supposedly more talented offense in SD, now he’s going to a team with a QB that can’t throw the ball outside of slants or comebacks off of broken plays… all the other balls go into the dirt. NY didn’t improve, Washington is still Washington. We got younger at Oline, we have backs that can run through contact at the goal line instead of getting arm tackled in open space. We have the exact same WR core minus a hobbling Gallup. This is the offense that was ranked number 1 last season. Defensively, we have actual linebackers that perform like linebackers. The only ? On defense is whether or not Parsons can show up in weeks 8-17 and in the biggest games (playoffs). And whether or not Diggs can hold up coming off injury. Every other aspect of the defense will be improved especially against the run and discipline. There will be a lot of people that have been talking shit all off season jumping on back on board half way through the season… i wish they wouldn’t.
The eagles literally nailed the draft, to the point that angered Micah, they upgraded at OC and DC, and they signed one of the best most dynamic rb in Saquon. What are you talking about? The cowboys lost their DC who build their defense and signed Zeke. lol

I agree with most of your take on here. Jerry is fed up with Dak. He’s gave him a loaded roster is whole Career. We’re I disagree is it daks fault. Hes had multiple chances to take this team on a run in the playoffs.
McCarthy took an 8 win team and turned it into one that wins twelve games perennially, he should be safe.
Prescott has choked in three of the last four playoff games, he shouldn't be.
He was brought in to win a Super Bowl. Who cares what he has down during the regular season.

@eldub422 when you spend 2/3ds of your money on offense, the defense will have compromises. That defense was designed to support a high scoring offense by stopping the pass. It doesn't work when your QB gives you nothing for 80% of the game but 14 points for the other team.
Green Bay was the worst team in the playoffs, with the worst defense and a non existent pass rush. Dak should have put 30 on them in the first half, not given them 14.
Who did Dallas lose really nothing the issue with the team last year was the run defense and they fixed that with the linebackers and all yeah this was the #1 scoring offense so how did they get worse...Cowboys will win the NFC East

Questions about Jordan Lewis plying the a lot and the safety play is also very questionable in this new Zimmer defence.
Also, what Quinn’s defence was very very good was getting pressure on the QB and having their outside corners squat and jump many routes playing catch or sticks techniques.
