Thank you. First time I comment on a tutorial to say how amazing it really is... Thanks again!
Glad to hear that and I really appreciate it 👍👍
For anyone using msi motherboard and not able to get this to work
Please follow the settings:
1. Set "EUP 2013" as Disabled in the BIOS Power Management menu.
2. Enable “Resume By PCI or PCI-E Device” in the Wake Up Event Setup.
3. In Windows device manager, go to “Network adapters” -> "Power Management” tab, and checked in the boxes [Allow this device to wake the computer].
And make sure the Ethernet/LAN drivers are downloaded/updated

I found this after a wake on lan search, and I have to thank you for a great video. I think I'm going to try a wol app as that will be the most convenient. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Currently building a home server made out of spare PC parts and its running fine.
This morning WoL came to my mind and i never actually used it.
Found your video and also found something similar in my router when it came to WoL
Entered the mac address and the server instantly booted. This will make things so much easier!
Thank you good sir for this excellent video and the explanations :D
You're very welcome and thanks for sharing your experience 🙂
Thanks! This video addresses all the major problems that got me stuck when setting up WOL for my desktop. Great video.

@@Behfor i Also used alexa for this with the Wol Skill but my mobo doesnt support when its on shutdown mode :(
Really wonderful 🎉
Thanks 🙏
Your videos are very didactic and have always helped me.
They describe standard situations that we lay people need very much. I last met
with a non-standard problem when waking the notebook remotely on a LAN but also over the Internet using the "Wake On LAN" function.
The laptop wakes up, works, the fan spins, but the screen is black. When you turn on the Remote Desktop Access program
the actual status is displayed on the screen but remains black when the program is switched off.
The screen can only be woken (turned on) by physically pressing any key on the notebook.
Can you help me?
Thank you M.S.
Thank you for sharing this and it is good.
Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Hey Behfor - Great Video - I'm running DD-WRT for years now and use WOL/WOW a lot - I use the DD-WRT app which allows you to have an icon on your home screen to wake a device up which is really nice as you don’t have to keep logging through the web interface - Now the dilemma I have - I want to upgrade the router with AI-mesh system with merlin installed - I'm wondering does the Asus app support WOL/WOL or do I have to login to the web interface every time I use WOL/WOW
Hi John, I just checked and the WOL option is available in the Asus app under the network tools menu. Thanks.
@@Behfor awesome - Thanks for letting me know - keep up the great videos
You're very welcome 👍
Brilliant!!
Thanks 👍
Nice animation
Thanks :-)
this tutorial is great not much blah blah blah. presentation with simple drawings does the trick and easier to understand for not so techy guys like me. this deserves million thousand likes.and subcription will watch more of your videos. i search you tube for this stuff since i have problem with my laptop at home that i can't remotely access anymore using chrome remote access since its no longer online according to chrome. but i can clearly see via the ipcam from where i am that it is powered on. that laptop is connected to my internet router via wifi. that laptop is also connected to my smart tv using hdmi cable and sadly my chrome remote connection to the said laptop is no longer working, maybe i need to reset my laptop at home but i am a thousand miles away. my wifi and internet at home is working as well since i can still control my other smart devices at home. WOL and WOWLAN wireshark are my take aways on this tutorial which i will explore. Big thanks.
You're very welcome, glad you found this video useful. Thanks for sharing and good luck 👍🙂
Can I connect my Google nest mini to my pc to turn on/off? If so what apps or programs I need to download?
Great video. Maybe another one explaining how to use another PC as cloud?
I remember when we used hand sanitizer on all our groceries
This video was made in the middle of all that! Thanks 🙂
Your video is great. I have a question. Can i wol every day at the same time woth timer or simething automatically?
Is there a way to do WoL over VPN without a router capable of sending a magic packet?
My pc support wol and it's ok when i am in the office. When i am out, and i want to use wow, is sufficient connect router, or it has to have particular function to send the packet? Thanks
Yay! The plant is back!!! **fist bump**
Lol, yeah it's back :-) *fist bump*
I am having this issue right now I have Synology drive on my Mac and PC and I want them to do back ups at 3 AM in the morning on consecutive days. but I noticed that at 3 AM Synology does not wake up my PC or Mac what would be the best way for my scenario? I don’t wanna have to wake up at three in the morning to wake up my computer, I also noticed that while the back up is happening if it’s within the timeframe for the computer to go to sleep it just goes to sleep and pauses the back up what can I do?
Nicely explained. Can we do the same (WoL) through WiFi connection or through internet from remote location. would laptop or PC to be in power off or hibernation or sleep mode be okay? Is laptop Warren, if flapped down would not come in way for WoL? Thanks.
I guess that for wifi it has to be in sleep, but on lan it might work even powered off
Awesome
great video but i have a question. Maybe i didnt understant but if i want to control a pc that is not connected in the same wifi ( a computer in my office when i am at home) what should i do? i would follow the same instruction you say in your video ? i should connecte with a vpn?
I bought a AC86U for the VPN capabilities but I can’t access my LAN clients. With openvpn connected, I can see that the IP on my iPhone becomes my home’s IP, yet I cannot see internal clients. Any guesses?
nice video ... could have been better if you had shown how to send magic packets from mobile and laptop which are wirelessly connected through wifi
Any solution/workaround if the computer doesn`t turn on when shut down ? My case is that the computer is turning on only from sleep and hibernate, when shutting down nothing is happening, so any solution ? Thanks!
I don't have the magic packet option. I was able to enable my wol on bios, uncheck fast startup. This is the only missing from my pc whenever I click properties under network. What will I do?
I am same you, when I am in from my lovely computer, I have to clean everything and everithing have perfect 😊😊.
Great! Thanks for sharing :-)
I love your beautiful persian accent and your useful video my dadash.
how about WOL without any routers?
is it possible to wake my computer using public IP which is generated by DHCP?
the reason why I asked about this is just there is a problem with using WOL after few minutes after shutdown
should I check up my arp table?
Can anyone tell that does it only work on wired LAN or wirelessly (through Wi Fi) also?
Thank you for this video ! It was helping me
So, I have a little question ..
Are you Persian ? (Persian accent is famous) hahaha

My target computer is connected to a wireless router that is serving as an extender WOL isn’t working for me, should I use WOWL?
I would start with taking a packet capture on the computer in question while sending the magic packet! Because a simple packet capture would show you if it is receiving the magic packet or not! If it is receiving it and not doing anything then I know the issue is the computer itself. Thanks
Personally I use teamviewer on a Rpi that acts as my pi-hole as well.
So if for whatever reason our firmware or hardware does not support waking from S4 / S5 then we are just out of luck and can only wake from sleep or a requested hibernate?
Yup, unfortunately that's how it is.
mine works only on hibernate for me... i have the s4 cleared, still only working on hibernate. any sugestion ?
I did everything as you do. But with wireshark I see that only magic packets sent via the fritzbox interface are received but not from Apps like Remote Pro or WOL2 etc..
কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই
That was helpful
Glad to hear, thanks.
@@Behfor packet capture🗣️
Great..
Thanks :-)
Is there a method to wake up a PC/Laptop that don't feature WOL? I know some have USB wake up methods.
Hi, is it possible to do this on VMWare Workstation?
I have a Z370 gaming plus and I only managed to wake the pc from ss3 s4 but not s5 which is shutdown even though Erp was off. When the system shutdowns, the Ethernet adapter stops blinking. Can anyone help?
Will it work with wifi wireless adapter or only Ethernet?
followed all the steps but there is no "wake on magic packet" option in the advanced tab. did some searching around but couldn't find an answer. Is there anything I can do? Thank you so much
+1 please help
@@Engineer-Abdulla i updated my motherboard's BIOS and it fixed the issue
Hey man, I need your help, my pc doesn't let me turn up the magic packet. What can I do
lol shakes head "aint walking"
Love your sense of humor, you should sanitized an eyes :P to inspire some people for even better protection.
Thanks 😁
172 destination unreachable ( port unreachable ) showing in Wireshark when trying to use wake on lan. What to do?
i dont see magic packet on wireshark can you help me ?
why my setting on ethernet control panel there is no wake on magic packet ?
Hej! I can’t seem to get it to work. I have changed every setting you did and I checked so my computer is receiving a signal and it does. I don’t know what else to do.
Does it wake the computer from hibernate?
Can I set this up with an automation if so how
Does anyone know if TEAMVIEWER can WakeonLan via WIFI or only Ethernet connected only?
My pc won't wake up on lan after i installed recovery software (reboot restore) previously it can WoL. The other pc also installed with recovery software but it can WoL, any idea what I should check? Both PCs are using Windows 10 Pro and the software is identical as I using the same Windows image..BTW I already subbed your channel. Thank you in advance
