Had the privilege of seeing them live about 5-6 years ago, one of the best live shows and bands I've ever seen. So much energy for a two piece. If anyone wants to hear some more awesome two piece bands with great energy check out White Stripes, Black Keys, and Middle Class Rut. Might've heard of some of them but show support so we can keep great music alive!
@glosticmescalina wow. thank you so much for posting lyrics that we can all clearly hear. I would have been lost without this. now If I can only learn to read.
The story behind this song is a night where big record companies wanted to see them play and perhaps make them really big stars. However, it was a big night, and Joe and Scott couldn't play that well that night. They just couldn't do well that one night, out of all the nights. Great song, really got me into these guys. =D
I'm a NIRVANA FAN (diehard) and I love this song! It's great. The reason I like Nirvana is becuz It wasn't just HEAVY ROCK it had a melodic feel to it, this is what this song has.
I saw these guys in 2000 ( i believe it was 2000), at a little club in Lancaster, PA. It was a great experience, right the front of the stage, until the moshing started. They were very cool, seemed nice.
local h was big in CT, they played all the old 104 fest. i remember the first year they played, they were on in the afternoon and rocked it better then the band that headlined the show. after that they were alwas on the radio. i saw they live about 6 times i think
you said it. I forgot about this band until I was writing a paper for my Graduate thesis and I Was writing a sentence with the words "local history" but i made a mistake spelling history so i hit backspace a few times and was left with localh. I was like oh shit thats a band I used to like! I came straight here to listen!
They've been together for a few years now man. I've been hearing Bound For The Floor for years on the radio. I just recently figured out who these guys are. And I've heard that the drummer left.
My senior year in highschool (05-06)I got really into them and they played a couple shows in Effingham & Charleston, Illinois. I saw them in a "venue" that was the back room of a bar with a tiny stage and shitty sound equipment, the room was big enough for 75 people and there was probably about 100 there. They fuckin rocked that shitty gig and it was one of the geatest shows ive ever seen. I hung out and talked to mark for like 30 minutes afterwards. It was unbelieveable
Wow these guys seriously rock. I can't believe I've never heard of them before. I'll be supporting for sure. Hey you guys should check out "Navicula", from Indonesia. They are considered the "Pearl Jam/Alice in Chains", of Indo, and they are very worthy.
wow, I always loved this song, as well as "bound for the floor," but I never knew it was Local H. Are they still around? Just another reason why the early to mid 90's was epic for rock music.
FYI you can't forget a band that is still together and touring. They're releasing a greatest hits CD on April 5th with a tour to promote it. Check out their website (localh dot com) to pre order the cd and see if they'll be close by for the tour.
I for one, am a HUGE fan of 90s music. I love bands like Weezer, Nirvana, Local H, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Bush, Beck, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Oasis. All that shit. I fucking love it! Its emotional, its REAL. I love two people bands because there is no catch its just there. Bands like Local H and The White Stripes are awesome. Thats it really. And im not comparing any of these bands or anything I just think they are all awesome in thier own way.
Not rotting man. They are doing it every weekend here in Chicago. Missed out on the show tonight, but Im jamming their shit in the garage. There is even a link to their show under the 'like' bar for the New Years show
this may sound stupid, but I was probably 10 or 12 when this song came out, and I was always getting into trouble at school for stupid shit. I always felt like these guys were sticking up for me whenever I heard this song. Great band!!
they where very big when they came out "just in the states" but it wasnt a band that got replays on mtv after the 90's so most of the NEW kids have no idea about them.
On their albums, the guitarist just multi-tracks the bass lines using a normal bass guitar. Live, though, what he does is he has bass pickups on his guitar, thus creating two output signals. He sends one signal through an octave pedal into a bass amp, so that plays the bass line. Then he sends the other amp to his normal guitar amp. Yeah, he plays the bass and the 6 string guitar at the same time, it's pretty badass.
not only was the label subject to merger but all labels were subject to the sudden shift to "hip-hop" and how much money can be made at the expanse of "artists" who work as hard as these guys and others that ended up folding under "mergers"
@420Guitar420 come to the midwest they play once a month in chi-town/milwaukee/gary they do it for fun, not because theyre washed up like alot of bands, and theyr shows are insanely awesome... like 115 burbon st in chicago.... youll never be at a more fun show
yah mon, the 90's were one of the best decades. it seems to run in 30-year cycles. the 60's were the best before then, (doors, floyd, animals, king crimson, you know I could go on) good enough to bleed into early 70's, and 30's before that, with jazz/blues/swing/big band really making their mark, although they started earlier. Not sure about 00's, only music before 30's that I really like is ancient Chinese/Korean.
Great band who got the shaft due to record company Merger. Along with With Weezer's Pinkerton, Pack up the cats was the most underated CD of the 90's This might sound crazy but if Dave and Krist of Nirvana ever wanted to pull off a Nirvana reunion like Queen did w/Paul Rodgers..This is the one guy i think can do it! anyone agree??
Not to make this a competition, but I'm almost 35 and I'll bet I get down more and harder than you. Life does not end at 30, I'm having more fun than ever. All you youngsters have a lot to look forward to (as long as you use protection, haha!)
One of the best videos of ALL time! one of a kind, This band is so under rated
makes we wish we were still in the 90's. 90's were awesome, and its clear, we are not letting it die!
Had the privilege of seeing them live about 5-6 years ago, one of the best live shows and bands I've ever seen. So much energy for a two piece. If anyone wants to hear some more awesome two piece bands with great energy check out White Stripes, Black Keys, and Middle Class Rut. no matter what this song is a classic can never take it away
this takes me back, waaaaaay back.
love it. thanks.
Doesnt matter what anyone says this band MADE 90's music god bless local h!
So sad this song never went far! I've always loved this song, and it has some real truth to it!
i saw tlocal h for the first time last weekend. great show.scott and ryan are awesome!!!
@glosticmescalina wow. thank you so much for posting lyrics that we can all clearly hear. I would have been lost without this. now If I can only learn to read.
more than 98% of kids who watched this and clicked a thumb are awesome. this is a citadel of ROCK!! yay for ROCK!!!!!!! 90s forever!!?!!!!!
Good to know these guys are in Chicago that's where I live! I'll check them out sometime
Forgot all about this song Brings back memories!
The 90's was the best decade to ever be around Alternative was at the High Point, and music actually meant something
Local H are one of the best bands I've ever heard, Pack Up The Cats was a masterpiece in my opinion, as was As Good As Dead.
The story behind this song is a night where big record companies wanted to see them play and perhaps make them really big stars.
However, it was a big night, and Joe and Scott couldn't play that well that night. They just couldn't do well that one night, out of all the nights.
Great song, really got me into these guys. =D
2 guys playing very hard and loud music makes for a great time love local h :))))
I'm a NIRVANA FAN (diehard) and I love this song! It's great. The reason I like Nirvana is becuz It wasn't just HEAVY ROCK it had a melodic feel to it, this is what this song has.
They are still active. Don't know why people on here don't think they are. They just released a great album last May.
local H... you didn't fail us and we'll never forget you.
Do what you do, Love your work boyz!
I saw this band with the white stripes, my ears are still ringing from thier greatness haha
Amazing what great sounds you get with only 2 guys :)
Sick - thanks for posting this. Do more if you can.
Saw them at the metro Sunday and Scott f-ing rocked!!!
Even Local H's pop songs are too badass for mainstream radio.
The 90's... You really can't compete with it, unless you're the late 60's.
I saw these guys in 2000 ( i believe it was 2000), at a little club in Lancaster, PA. It was a great experience, right the front of the stage, until the moshing started. They were very cool, seemed nice.

Local H is sooo under rated !
They've been together for a few years now man. I've been hearing Bound For The Floor for years on the radio. I just recently figured out who these guys are. And I've heard that the drummer left.

This band is so great, but it's so underrated! They should get more radio time!
I do miss good 90s music.
this song is so youthful and pleasant

FYI you can't forget a band that is still together and touring. They're releasing a greatest hits CD on April 5th with a tour to promote it. Check out their website (localh dot com) to pre order the cd and see if they'll be close by for the tour.

Chicago rocks!

It's Brian, friend.
Is there a word bigger than Epic? because this song is that
they rock!
@MrUgotpranked No, they're from a suburb of Chicago called Zion. Gotta represent my city
Great band who got the shaft due to record company Merger. Cool, have you heard any of their music?
Two Great duos. Check out Two Gallants also. I found them through advice from Scott Lucas

Not to make this a competition, but I'm almost 35 and I'll bet I get down more and harder than you. Life does not end at 30, I'm having more fun than ever. All you youngsters have a lot to look forward to (as long as you use protection, haha!)
I love this song. They also did another version of this song that had different lyrics that was just as good. What the hell was wrong with Joe!
Great Band
