first time i listened o pearl jam was in 1991... i've seen them live 4 times and have every single album they ever made (which is way more than what you can say from a group like Local H)... in fact i believe they are the best band today on the account of talent, form and material... and yeah people have told me they are great, they are called people with musical knowledge! know anyone?
It is short for Local Hospital. In the cd booklet for As good as dead there is even a pic of it in Zion, IL (where they are from) as well as one for Fritz's Tavern for which their song Fritz's Corner was based on.
"Okay, I understand but I don't wanna be your friend... I don't need another friend, I've got too many friends." Just sent this song to my ex-girlfriend-as-of-today. Love it.
HOLY SHIT! Just saw that they're playing Exit/In in Nashville, and I just fucking lost it. This it the best night of my fucking life! Got my tickets printed and now I'm ready to count down the days.
You're absolutely right. Eddie Vedder was merely the popular dude at the time. Insert whomever is popular at the moment, and that's the point he's making.
I think I read some where what Invader was saying. Also he mentioned that he was frustrated with his band not getting any attention. He felt part of it was because they aren't from Seattle like the grunge bands. However you look at it Local H rocks and the only song most people know by them is Bound for the Floor which is really sad. Their stuff is amazing.
They dont have one, Scott Lucas put bass pick ups on his guitar and plugs into 2 different amps so it makes the guitar and bass sound at the same time. I've seen them live in concert, its a really good show
I'm 34, like both Local H and (love) Pearl Jam, am not married and don't have kids because I have yet to meet the woman who can convince me to settle down. You might want to try to realize that you don't have all the answers. When you're 40, you probably won't want to rock out all the time anymore, though I saw PJ twice this summer, and they certainly still do. Have a great day!
Bound for the floor is the first album I ever purchased and still one of my favorites. Any rock fan should check it out especially 90's grunge fans. Pack up the cats also a pretty good album. The drummer in this band (Joe Daniels) is awesome! Watch him smash the shit out of those drums!!!! Seriously that's how its done!
I don't actually drink soda all too often. I chose this moniker because I wanted to listen to music on Yahoo! Launch in a ninth grade class (we regularly got laptops). I couldn't decide on a username, so I went with the first thing that came to mind, and my teacher just so happened to be drinking a soda. Voila, here it is. Regardless of how obvious something may seem to be, it isn't always correct (the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics are excellent examples of this).
Well... in regards to Emo, I'm sure I feel the same way about it, as the 80's hair metal generation felt about Grunge...they couldn't stand to see their music fall. Sadly enough, the music that defines us, doesn't stay the same forever...in any genre
at their show in rochester last night, there were some drunken idiots moshing when they played this song and one guy punched one of them right in the face, so scott and brian just stopped right in the middle and said "woah, no punching, alright? and why the hell are you moshing to eddie vedder anyway?!?" that was one of the best moments of the show i think.
As well, I'm 17, and it's been five years since I hit puberty, so it's moreso annoyance with the people thinking that they're somehow insulting Eddie Vedder when they're just referring to him.
I've heard Scott say in a few interviews that it isn't actually about Eddie Vedder. It's about all of the Pearl Jam knock offs that were making the rounds at the time. The one he specifically mentioned was Seven Mary Three, though I'm sure there were others.
@waelkyrie I love all those bands too, and I agree that overall there's no "best" decade for rock or music in general. But I think he means that in terms of mainstream acceptance, the 90s were great for alternative rock kind of music.
Okay...I don't see how someone could actually say anything about this band is better than Eddie Vedder...The guy is literally a legend and will go down as one of the greatest rock frontmen of ALL TIME, that's not my opinion, that is factual at this point. This band sounds like another nirvana-wannabe throwback
@cortXjester301 : i wish there was a gigantic questionmark next to the thumb signs. Hendrix. Want to rethink your "best decade for all forms of rock" ???????????? *slams head into cement wall multiple times*
I saw Pearl Jam at madison square garden this summer. The only garden Local H plays is the Olive Garden. And Pearl Jam has only themselves to thank for being so amazing, not the peppers.
Heh. I screwed up majorly with my last reply. First I misread your's and thought it said "prepubescent angst", and secondly I thought it was an attack against me, seeing as how I forgot I mentioned it in mine.
@cortXjester301 : i wish there was a gigantic questionmark next to the thumb signs. Hendrix. Cream. The Who. Rolling Stones. Pixies. Clash. Velvet Underground. The Kinks. Crass. Black Flag. and on and on the list could go. Want to rethink your "best decade for all forms of rock" ???????????? *slams head into cement wall multiple times*
@odeamusic i love pearl jam and local h but this guy is singing, playing guitar, and has bass pickups on his guitar so hes playing bass too, 3 things. ed ved only sings and occasionally plays guitar also. i used to think bands i never heard of weren't as talented as bands i was just discovering, but then i ate shrooms and it gave me an open mind
Pretty much. Once again keeping in mind that I never once said that they didn't have talent. But you apparently only listen to the one band. Still don't know why you keep coming to this video. I know I don't watch one Pearl Jam video over and over, at least once a day. Cause I don't have that kind of time.
yes,2 people, but you could'nt tell it if you did'nt know it. even live if you close your eyes you would think there were 5 people on stage. scott is a great guitarist & tunes it to sound like a bass when he wants it too
im a big nirvana fan and i just like to say that i love this band, local h writes good songs too even though theyere sometimes called nirvana wannabees
If everyone could live forever we'd all sell out in some way...I think it's called growing up or some such shit....I dont know if Ibelieve in it though.
i'm actually quite curious to see just how many things you can do on a pearl jam song... i guess everything but actually listening to the music... which i guess would be the proper thing to do with a band of such talent...
This is one of the first songs I ever liked. I grew up listening to this band, and loving it.
this is one of the best rock songs ever im gonna have to see these guys i frickin love this song ive already replayed it like 10 times
best rock songs ever i think i am not even playing. i loved alternative and i went to high school 95-99.
Almost 21 here. First I ever heard them. Thank you, linkage.
bet that was a great show!! I saw them at rockfest here and once at a bar with a local band called cruxed!!
first time i listened o pearl jam was in 1991... i've seen them live 4 times and have every single album they ever made (which is way more than what you can say from a group like Local H)... in fact i believe they are the best band today on the account of talent, form and material... and yeah people have told me they are great, they are called people with musical knowledge! know anyone?
I saw them back in the mid 90's and they rocked. This is a cool ass song.
I love the way the guitar sounds in this one.
They dont make music like this anymore.....
Zion, Illinois' best power duo!
I just saw them this past weekend! at the clearwater in west dundee, IL
It is short for Local Hospital. In the cd booklet for As good as dead there is even a pic of it in Zion, IL (where they are from) as well as one for Fritz's Tavern for which their song Fritz's Corner was based on.
@leftydog11 wow you totally gave an example of what the song was trying to say...good job
"Okay, I understand but I don't wanna be your friend... I don't need another friend, I've got too many friends."
Just sent this song to my ex-girlfriend-as-of-today. Love it.
nice simple video. i like it. and the song.
wow these guys play some nice music... and the drummer really hits it :P
its actually a really cool video as well... 1997 didnt have the luxury of all the post production we got now
HOLY SHIT! Just saw that they're playing Exit/In in Nashville, and I just fucking lost it. This it the best night of my fucking life! Got my tickets printed and now I'm ready to count down the days.
@Lithium101
I was at that show too, like how Scott said that he sounds like "funkhouser" because he was sick.
You're absolutely right. Eddie Vedder was merely the popular dude at the time. Insert whomever is popular at the moment, and that's the point he's making.
I wouldn't say it's all bad, but the 90's are the best decade for all forms of rock
I heard High-fiving MF on the radio, and loved this band ever since.
yea chevelle! yea local h, saw them in merrionette park, IL this past weekend
@wreklessabandon i saw them in jersey probably 7 or 8 years ago. the opening band was chevelle.
I'm glad YOU were able to answer for him. However I meant the lengths of the songs. Which is the whole case in the first place.
I totally agree man, Im pissed that I cant find that album anywhere
I LOVE LOCAL H! This song is brilliant!
I'm glad no curse words are being thrown ignorantly in this, lol
man i frgot how cool these guys are. i got to rebuy this album
Seen Chevelle open up for them in Atlanta about that time.
They dont have one, Scott Lucas put bass pick ups on his guitar and plugs into 2 different amps so it makes the guitar and bass sound at the same time. I've seen them live in concert, its a really good show

this band is friggin awesome i will like to make a band like this .
I don't actually drink soda all too often. I chose this moniker because I wanted to listen to music on Yahoo! Launch in a ninth grade class (we regularly got laptops). Damnit.
That message was meant as a repsonse to a posters question on another page of what Local H meant.
still love it as much as i did the first time. :)
@TheBabysoup April 28th. Tickets were only like 14 dollars too.
i LIKE THIS SONG!!! FANTASTIC!!
Well... in regards to Emo, I'm sure I feel the same way about it, as the 80's hair metal generation felt about Grunge...they couldn't stand to see their music fall. Sadly enough, the music that defines us, doesn't stay the same forever...in any genre

that was one of the best moments of the show i think.
my ears are ringing as i watch this because i saw them last night
yep. vintage 90s rock right here.
@CelticFireChild ..sounds plausible. this came out during pearl jam's johnny appleseed days...so why not.
As well, I'm 17, and it's been five years since I hit puberty, so it's moreso annoyance with the people thinking that they're somehow insulting Eddie Vedder when they're just referring to him.
I love you Marley! this song is to you!
I've heard Scott say in a few interviews that it isn't actually about Eddie Vedder. It's about all of the Pearl Jam knock offs that were making the rounds at the time. The one he specifically mentioned was Seven Mary Three, though I'm sure there were others.
This song is so..good!
yes, yes...but what's possibly mosre startling is the fact that gravity travels at around the same speed as light...diabolical!
@waelkyrie I love all those bands too, and I agree that overall there's no "best" decade for rock or music in general. But I think he means that in terms of mainstream acceptance, the 90s were great for alternative rock kind of music.
They haven't split up. They have an official website. The last album they released was 12 Angry Months in 2008. Not sure why you can't find them ...
@death377 they already had it it was called the late 90s i think anyhow saw them last week or so in hobart IN and they still got it
any 2 man band that plays this good gets my respect
@wreklessabandon
naw, I knew of this band back in high school, and im in San Francisco. really dug some of their stuff.
i love this song
it's asking either a girlfriend, the record companies, or the media...I'm not sure which one the song is aimed at
This song is energizing :P
Gonna see them soon!!!!
One of the best bands ever
I wish this vid wasn't censored! This songs mad sick!
Okay...I don't see how someone could actually say anything about this band is better than Eddie Vedder...The guy is literally a legend and will go down as one of the greatest rock frontmen of ALL TIME, that's not my opinion, that is factual at this point. You Guys Are Awesome
@PuppyLove7512 Joe runs a children's clothing store in Chicago.

Well lets not get ahead of ourselves.. lol.. But they we're pretty kick ass
Wow, this sounds a lot different from what I remember of it.
Seems like anyone outside of the midwest missed out on this band----- really sad
@leftydog11 wow you totally failed to realize that the inflection in verbal sarcasm does not translate into text
greatest 2 man band there ever was :)))
An awesome 2-man-band.
@tcloudx3
that is the name of the song. neither man is eddie vedder
Pretty much. Once again keeping in mind that I never once said that they didn't have talent. But you apparently only listen to the one band. Still don't know why you keep coming to this video. If everyone could live forever we'd all sell out in some way...I think it's called growing up or some such shit....I dont know if Ibelieve in it though.
@cortXjester301 I'm with you on that.
@bazookajoe1944 Did you just say the Pearl Jam is commercial?
i'm actually quite curious to see just how many things you can do on a pearl jam song... i guess everything but actually listening to the music... which i guess would be the proper thing to do with a band of such talent...
check out scott's interview posted by bombers66
