A tune I haven't learned until now. That's the Tool I love dearly! Been absent for a while since I'm finishing my first song recording ever (!!!). Hopefully it'll be finished and released by the end of the decade. I'm very excited to share this with you, has been a lot of fun to compose! I suppose this will be the last cover this year so I wish you all happy holidays and a good start into the new year! If the community post function works properly again, I'll keep you up to date of what is going on. As a little holiday gift, the guitar only version will be available to every patron regardless of the payed amount. Cheers :)

So simple but so effective. The chorus riff is one of my all time favourite riffs, and even though it’s the same riff the last time it comes in it just hits differently, so much more power in it.

Haha thanks man, will do! I've been playing with a Line 6 Spider IV for about 10 years, so I decided to treat myself with the Kemper and the other studio equipment. This rack has been one of the best decisions I've made :)

I’ve always played the d note from the verse and intro on the open string rather then the fifth fret of the a string. Makes more sense considering the chorus is definitely open when it becomes a chord? A minor point considering it’s the same note. I can’t say I’ve noticed how Adam plays it live.
Adam plays it on the fifth fret, but it's entirely up to you how you want to play it :)

The thing is the open D String sounds way brighter than if you play it on the 5th fret of the A string
I didn't wanna be "THAT GUY" and point that out, but I guess really either way works I play it a tiny bit different though but sounds the same-ish 😆 good job bro!

Nope, he’s one of the only people out there playing the verses right, or pretty damn close. I think what you are seeing on other videos is that most people play more than is really going on, they don’t realize some of the audible notes are a delay repeat thats driving the verses, and they try and play those notes.
Pushit must happen! One of the best guitar solos of Tool happen in that song.

The opening is a volume swell into feedback with a flanger and delay not a pick scrape.

@John Gates It's the sound of the Aenima album. That quivering and oscillating you hear from the guitar is a Boss BF2 flanger. It's a modulation pedal.

Nice cover. I would do the bends different for the main riff though. You're kinda doing two bends a little fast though it sounds like. I would bend it up real slow then release it really slow and on the last one bend it really high and then hit that D note. I like the Epiphone too. I have a quilt top Epiphone from 05 I think. It's just a Les Paul classic but if I put in a Seymour Duncan pickup in it it would be killer!

Hey Max, do you have your guitar recordings available as isolated tracks? I'm looking to play the drum part along with the track, but I can't find any tool stem tracks and your cover is really awesome so i would appreciate it if they were downloadable somewhere.
I have isolated guitar versions on Patreon, yep. You can use those tracks for personal use of course, just don't republish anything :)

Thank you! The Kemper is doing most of the work, I'm equalizing and compressing just a bit. I did quite a bit of fine tuning the Diezel profiles :)

Thank you! Backing tracks for Tool songs are almost non existent. There are some isolated tracks for Vicarious and Parabola, but that's pretty much it.

You've had this video up for 4 years at this point. Had RUclips playing in the background while working and this happened to play. Sounded like every other time I've heard Stinkfist, but I had to take immediate pause to see what I was hearing, because the opening pick scrape sounded just a little bit off, but cool as hell! I never heard that rise in pitch and it sounded way too clean. But I love what you did with that scrape! Great cover, my man!
