I know you've heard and read too many times what I am about to write, but I have followed carefully every single step in this video, and for the life of me I can't get to properly work my devices. My issue is with the first pairing Sena 30K to the BMW Module (2020 K 1600 B). I start by having the Sena 30K (phone pairing) to the bike's module. I select Helmet1 on the bike's module, then pair it, the bike says Connecting, then Successful, but the 30K's pairing lights (blue and read) keep on blinking. I wait and wait and it appears that the pairing doesn't complete, the 30K times out and aborts its pairing. I get no error on the bike's module, but it doesn't complete as I get nothing -- no music like you do in the video. I then continue to pair the 30K to the Navigator VI, and it does work fine, the iPhone pairing is also successful. You may then ask, so what's the problem then? Well, when I make a phone call I don't hear the person I'm calling, or when I hear them, they can't hear me. I can hear music from my iPhone, and get GPS directions, but the phone calls are the issue. I have gone through the steps in your video more than two dozen times (unpairing, upgrading firmware, even restoring factory values on the 30K) all to no avail. So in this configuration - if Sena battery died, is there a way quickly switch playback back to the motorcycle speakers? Thanks!

Headset 2 can only be connected to a OEM BMW Headset. Been this way since 2011. There are easy go arounds, with SENA headsets you use the SENA intercom for Driver passenger. and SENA's music sharing if you want to share you BMW Audio with your passeneger

I am the only one that is paired the same way as per your video, she is only paired with me, using INTERCOM PAIRING, so we can talk together. But, as you know the K1600 passenger seat is higher than the driver seat, so her helmet is always in the wind even if I put the windsheild up, she gets hit by the wind. As soon as I am over 30 MPH, I am always hearing wind noises in my headset, if I have music playing the wind noise will shut the music because of the AUDIO MULTITASKING feature.. How can this be adjusted ? Thanks
You need to look at page 37 and 38 in your manual 18.1 to 18.6 the answers lie in those features. In this video at the end of pairing your headset to the bike, you put the ignition to OFF, is this also a game changer if i've followed all your steps but without shuting off the bike. Thank a lot again, your videos where life saving !!
GREAT Somebdy is paying attention ;-) The "phone pairing", & "2nd mobile phone paring" do exactly the SAME THING. There is no set way but I find it hard to explain this to viewers, just makes it more confusing to them. Ignition has to be on to connect to "Helmet One" for the BMW system (duhhh ;-) ). The Nav as to be ON to connect your phone and headset. Ignition has nothing to do with this step. You could do this with your NAV, phone & headset at your desk in the house. NO MATTER what SENA you have 10, 20, 30, 50 or SRL etc etc the ALL connect the same way There are FIVE Bluetooth connections 1. Phone 2. 2nd Mobile phone 3. GPS 4. Phone selective 5. Hi richard , sorry i have a question that if i do all the step like in the video i could play music on my iphone through bmw speaker by bluetooth ? Im now using a adapter stereo bluetooth with the Aux port but sometime the sound quaility came very bad ! You have any suggestion ? Thank you and have a nice day
Hi Nicolas I am sure I do not understand the question. Your BMW has a Speaker/Bluetooth "Switch" Change it to Speakers and you do not need ANY Bluetooth as you are using the speakers. Change to Bluetooth and that turns the speakers OFF and now you need to listen through a Bluetooth headset.
Richard Battles here is the link of my set up for stereo audio ruclips.net/video/ISxDCOM27-c/видео.html , and this is the link of the product UGREEN Bluetooth Receiver 5.0 Wireless Auido Music RCA Adapter for Home Car Music Streaming Sound with 3.5mm and 2RCA Compatible with iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus, iPad, Samsung S8 Plus, Note 8, Tablet, Laptop www.amazon.com/dp/B01J5DYWTW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6.JwFb8CK3RJD

Hi. I have model without navigation. I was try to connect smartphone but system asked me to write code. Manual does not mention about any code. Can you help please?
Your "Bluetooth headset" to BMW system "Headset One" using "PHONE Pairing"
Hi Richard. Thanks for the video.
I am trying to connect everything as you said but with Apple Airpods instead of Sena. I am not making it happen. I guess AirPods are not 100% compatible with Navigator. And now, when trying to return to my motorcycle normal radio use (with no headset or Airpods), no sound gets out from motorcycle speakers. The Bluetooth logo never disappears from the dashboard. Do Yo know how can I put the motorcycle speakers back to work?
Thanks.
Go to "AUDIO" Press the multifunction wheel to the right. The Scroll UP to "Loudspeaker" Choice ON.
Hi Richard am I correct in saying that unless you have a BMW helmet with built in system then you cannot pair both helmets with the K1000 GTL on board system? Thanks
Mark
Headset 2 can only be connected to a OEM BMW Headset. Been this way since 2011. There are easy go arounds, with SENA headsets you use the SENA intercom for Driver passenger. and SENA's music sharing if you want to share you BMW Audio with your passeneger
I already connect all but, i can only control the music via my phone connecting with an aux
Thank you for your help Richard, now all works as it should on my K16, Nav V, Sena 10U and iPhone.
Next Episode......
My wife bought me a Shoei Neotec II and Sena SRL 2 for Christmas, I've tried setting this up on the K with "Pair Helmet 2" but the bike returns the dialogue "Not Possible" I'd like to be able to wear either helmet, any thoughts or should I be using a different method?
Helmet 2 can only be used with an OEM BMW Bluetooth headset. You can go through the process with the second helmet using Helmet 1 and it will work with both helmets as long as one is OFF!
@@Richardrka1 Thank you for the quick response. I've done as you suggested and it works - awesome! Your assistance is much appreciated and faster than my BMW Motorrad dealer.
Best wishes for an enjoyable festive season and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

How did you connect a smartphone cradle to the steering?
Hi Erkan, I do not understand what you saw in the video that relates to your question
Hi Richard,
Again nothing as change much since our last discussion three weeks ago, everything is working fine. I have only one thing that is a bit annoying:
Me and my wife always ride together, she is my passenger. She as the same helmet as me, Shoei Neotec 2 with SRL.
We had the same issue when Kathy started riding with me and now our sensitivity levels are set to accommodate the different riding postions we have. ALSO mic location is a big part of this AND I assume you have the foam covers on them. Richard
@@Richardrka1 Yes I do have the foams, I will try to tweeking the settings by trials and errors by looking in the manual at the pages you gave me.
Many thanks again !
Pierre
@@Richardrka1 which manual are you referring too, I have the same wind noise issue and it is driving me nuts, my passenger doesn’t have the issue though. I looked in my sena manual and those page numbers refer to group intercom and it doesn’t have the sub section numbers you mention?

I have audio on my rt, I listen to the music from the speakers. All I want to be able to do is make and receive calls and use the nav 6 to see who is calling. Do I still need to pair the headset to the bike?
NO ..... connect your phone to your Bluetooth headset directly. and that's it
Richard Battles thanks - but then I cannot see who is calling me as phone is in my pocket.
@@khilanshah300 You can mount the phone where you can see it, or you can connect it to the NAV GPS and connect your headset to the NAV GPS and look at the screen for in coming calls and answer them from the NAV GPS.
I’ve connected my phone to the nav 6, and sena srl to the nav 6. I can use the nav 6 to make and receive calls but the sena controls do not answer or end the calls. I have to do this with the nav 6. Is this correct? Thanks
@@khilanshah300 YES
Thank you!
Hi Richard, I followed your video step by step and everytihing seems to work, I would have been lost with only the owner's manual from SENA. But I have a couple of questions, first of all have a 2019 K1600 GTL and Sena SRL with the Shoei Neotec 2.
1. In this video your first step is to pair your headset to the BMW module/Helmet one, under phone pairing, but in an other video titled NAV VI OVERVIEW, you pair it under 2nd phone paring, is this a game changer or not ?
NO MATTER what SENA you have 10, 20, 30, 50 or SRL etc etc the ALL connect the same way
There are FIVE Bluetooth connections
1. Phone
2. 2nd Mobile phone
3. GPS
4. Phone selective
5. Media Selective
To connect to your BMW you only need two of these 1 & 2 OR ...... 3 read your manual on GPS paring ;-)
What do you do with the other profiles .... Watch this toutorial I did while bored to dead crossing South Dakota ;-)
ruclips.net/video/UyADZqtDCO8/видео.html
If you can get this into your head it will make understanding the BMW a lot better.
Bluetooth was not designed to be connected to your BMW audio system
It was designed to be used with your phone .... stand alone
Example ..... Connect your phone to your GPS and your Headset to your GPS as per intructions and NOW you cannot use the app .......... WHY ...... Think about it.
THANKS for paying attention
Richard

I just spent 2 hrs trying to get a 2018 BMW K 1600 GTL to play my phone's music out of the speakers on the bike. FAIL. Did not buy the bike because of that. Is it possible? I don't want to listen through a headset. I want to listen to those massive speakers on the bike!
Hi Alex, Turn on your loudspeakers which turns off the Bluetooth, Change to AUX or USB, Open glove box, plug in phone ...... BINGO!
@@Richardrka1 Thanks. We did notice that the bluetooth symbol disappeared when we turned on the speakers (not sure why you'd want to turn them off!). I'm guessing that wasn't ever bluetooth from a phone for playing music anyway. Are you suggesting then that the only options are plugging into aux or playing from a USB stick? That would mean no control to play music from a phone via the bike's interface. This is very disappointing for a $30k bike!
@@aworden Hi Alex a little negative are you ;-) You can control the phone from the AUX setting screen ....
