- So for a while now I've wanted a way to control my DAW from the floor. Most floor pedals are built for the devices they come with, but this bargain of a hidden gem will transmit MIDI data over USB. It's very flexible and control almost any element of the DAW. So it could change Amplitube patches and effects, Operate the wah/volume pedals... or with a little bit of Reaper ReaScript programming,,, put an entire orchestra at your feet !

I was thinking of getting one for use with a Line 6 POD 2.0 but now you've shown it works with DAW control.......I HAVE to get one. :D hehehe
Glad you found the video useful, it's a great little unit. The software makes is very programmable, so it's really versatile. You can get them very cheap on the used market too, I saw one for £35 the other day !

I had one of these with my amp & it's a bit shite as a guitar pedal to be honest, it lives unused in it's box as I've replaced it with an FB4 to use with my Pod mk2 when I'm not using my Boss GT-6.

The pedals are very 'mushy',,, but the expression pedal is good. I wouldn't rely on it at a live gig, but for a cheap little MIDI->USB controller (which are quite rare it seems), it's pretty good. Thanks SmokinJoe :-)

I want one for my Line& POD which is a classic, just for the sound, despite it's not supported by computers anymore. Only USB, network cable, so it's a foot controller then, and no MIDI...
Yes, It's what's known as 'Class Compliant MIDI over USB'... Which basically means if you plug it into a computer it will work as a MIDI device without any drivers etc. However, to get this to work with the older 'DIN' type midi connectors you'd need some sort of conversion hardware or 'host'.

Your using the foot switch to change chords and not guitar tones? How do you assign the switches to do that?
All I wanna do is play an a bar cord on my guitar and have the foot switch. ABCD sustain that note and then I want a solo over it. How do I do that?
Not many great options for a midi footboard...I didn't want to get the Behringer with its plastic pedals...I'm gonna pick either FBV3 or this one...both seem to work as both are supported by the FBV software.
I used the Behringer on a tour about 15 years ago, so it's quite old tech now,,, and huge. The FBV3 looks very nice.
I just purchased one of these bad boys for use with my spider VI 75.
It’s cool and everything but I’ve noticed that there is like a full half second delay when switching buttons, So it obviously makes your song sound like crap if everything cuts out for a half second while it’s switching.
Do you know what I’m saying?
I should be able to stomp on the pedal at the end of a chord and my very next strum it is in the new effect.
So am I doing something wrong or does this pedal just suck?
Because it is essentially useless if it’s going to cut out for a half second every time I switch effects. That really makes a live performance sound horrible

The pedal itself issues commands to the host immediately,,, there's pretty much no latency there. The cutting out is the processing time it takes the Spider IV to load up the selected sound. Its more a shortcoming of the amp than the pedal,, I dont think there would be anything you could do to alleviate that.

The only way to alleviate that would be to have an amp with a dual processor so that it can switch immediately right??
Otherwise in my situation here the pedal that I have is really just for having preset effects that I love but they’re not really to access and change during a live song right in the middle? For changing in the middle of a song I am probably going to want to get an actual pedal?

There are two Reaper plugins working on the midi. The first one converts the MIDI CC to a MIDI note (because the FBV can't send notes, only CC), and the second, called Scaler, turns a single note into a chord.
Appreciate you putting this together man. Just bought one to control some parameters in amplitube. Got it cheap enough too. Did you have to install the software from line 6 site or was it plug and play so to speak?

Can I plug this straight into a head with regular guitar jacks or do I have to use a USB or ethernet cable?
No, it will only work with a USB host... which basically means it needs a computer to work. It does have an RJ45 socket, but this is only compatible with the supported Line6 amps/PODs.

Hello. I have the same line 6 pedalboard and i have a question. Can I use this one in reaper as a midi controller to change the pluggin vst? I need pass from clean channel to an overdrive while I'm playing im jamulus. How could it do? Thanks and I wait your answer.

Can u use the distortion in the pedal with the keyboard
There is no distortion in the pedal itself as it doesn't have any effects or audio capability, it can only send MIDI commands to the host. However, you can use a distortion plugin on the keyboard track and use it to control that.
