That was actually a very good video for me. I never used a wah. Dont have one in fact. I guess I need to go to the music store to get one. Really like those pinched harmonics with the wah. And it will certainly gives a new flavour to the music I usually do. Thanks for this video.
It was actually very bad video cause low impedance wah pedals can only accept signals from low impedance pickups. Crybaby wah pedals don't work with EMG pickups. Kirk was forced to commission a wah pedal to work with EMG pickups.
One of my favourite uses for wah is on Dance Little Liar by Arctic Monkeys. Alex uses a wah in conjunction with a quick echo with medium amount of repeats. While playing the note he pulls back on the wah and mutes the note, making a cool raygun type effect. Give the track a listen and you'll see what I mean.
You couldn't tell this wah pedal was rejecting the high impedance signal. This wah pedal was designed to work only with active EMG pickups. The tone pot on kirk's guitar is 20k. The tone pot on this guitar is 500K. The KH wah pedal DOES NOT accept signals from 500K pots. That's like pouring jet fuel into a lawn mower. Do you understand this sound fault problem you have, caleb? You Can't even hear that KH wah pedal Can't handle signals from 500K pots.
You didn't mention one that I personally love - using the wah as a step filter. Play a short, measure-long riff multiple times, but each time step up the wah slightly so it builds up. Great for taking a turning what would otherwise be a simple or uninteresting riff into something dynamic and cool.
I too wear New Balance shoes. They come in wide sizes as well, which makes them very comfortable. In regard to the wah pedal, I really enjoyed listening to this. I just got a wah pedal for Christmas, but haven't yet dived into giving it a full tryout. After watching this video, I was inspired to start working with it more. I have never said this about anyone's guitar sound before, but I heard a hint of Gary Richrath in some of the harmonic sounds. Gary was an underrated guitar player for REO Speedwagon, from 1970 thru 1989. He used to get some very good harmonics on some of their songs. RIP - Gary, you were one in a million!

There are plenty of Dunlop wahs with knobs and switches! I just picked up the jimi Hendrix fuzz wah and not only is there a knob, there’s are switches to engage the fuzz and another to select whether the fuzz comes before or after the wah. There’s also a tiny knob on the bottom to control the volume of the fuzz
