I left unity for unreal until 2 days, then i came back just bcz of u guys and the atmostphere that unity has made and the place unity has taken in my heart
I have some ideas on WallRunning too:
First, we make the walls we want the player to wallrun off of and we give it the tag layer "Wallrun". Then if the player is touching the hitbox of the wallrun, we turn off the gravitational force or the rigidbody component. We make gravity towards the wall so that the player is always on the wall. As long as we are pressing the movement keys and touching the wall, we stick to it. When we aren't touching the hitbox of the wall or jump off the wall we turn on the gravitational force or the rigidbody component.
Now the brackeys have gone, you are only our hope for these amazing tutorials.

What? I thought it was Dani and not mirrors edge.. Anyhow, I'm sure Dani made it increasingly popular. I have always seen people asking about this feature, on discords, brackeys comments etc.. But I agree that he isn't Albert Einstein, even thought he might look like him :D
I love Dani, but hate that mentality. Something that RECENTLY becomes popular becomes the benchmark and WAHHH THEY'RE COPYING THEM THEY AREN'T ORIGINAL.
It's a mechanic lol. If you could copyright game mechanics, we wouldn't have SOOO MANY PLATFORMERS lol.
He didn't invent it, but Unity wouldn't have thought of including it if it wasn't for Dani to make it popular

@@pontiffsullyvan That’s totally valid, but I merely hate that people would claim Dani is the inventor and that Unity is stealing his idea, where Dani just thought it was a cool mechanic and literally said he got it from playing Mirror’s Edge(which is obvious tbh)
But yea it’s true. Since dani rarely does tutorials, it’s nice to have SOMEONE do it in the context of Unity :)

Edit : actually after i completed the video i found out that i made wall run before....but i wanted to make wall running on a curved surface.
Yeah, a basic wallrun isn't that hard. Getting something as fluid, polished and robust as titanfall 2 isn't quite so easy.

I needed this to replicate the code and logic into roblox lua so I can create the game taht I wanted, its a little bit harder bcs You can't really adjust the gravity the way u want so yeh

So what if I want the main character to have a spotlight working as a flashlight at the tip of his gun. I am currently creating a game using URP with a labyrinth having walls and my character has that spotlight in his hand. The problem is that the light coming out of this spotlight does not cast a shadow through the walls of the labyrinth but it casts a shadow through the player's hand. Also with a cube in the scene, the same spotlight casts or does not cast a shadow through that cube randomly when changing the rotation and scale of that cube. I've read that some URP lights don't cast a shadow to have better performance but why the hand has a shadow. Also, how can I get this spotlight to cast a shadow even using URP?

Hello! How can I do it so the player is still attached to the wall even if they turn the camera to the other side? eg: The player is running on a wall on the right and they look at the left but don't fall. Thanks!

Im having a problem with my FPS micro game. Every time I hit the hoverbot, it slowly loses health until it dies when I just hit it once. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Wall running only works when slightly looking at the wall you're trying to run on. The moment you look away you drop. Is there an (easy) way to increase the view angle while wall running?
I tried to figure it out.

These full projects you give out Unity is awesome to look into and learn from - really great resource!
BUT!
It's 2020, please don't use the old Input.GetAxis()... and please don't concat string with "X " + "Y".....we have $"{X} {Y}" now you know in C# :)
If you, as the game engine, keep these old habbits in your newest sample, people will keep doing that way - and we won't move forward as fast then.
Don't get me wrong, I REALLY like Unity - that's also why and want and expect the best from you (Unity) :)
