Whitesnake needs to be in the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame. Who agrees?
Mac Chapman yup
Coverdale is, with Deep Purple
Jon Sykes??
Mac Chapman ........after Iron Maiden
Me.
This is probably the sexiest hard rock song of all time!
Absolutely 💯
Album came out in 87 when I graduated high school….54 years old now and this song still rocks….stands the test of time
Oh my gosh yess man I was born in 2003 right around when this was filmed of them playing live so I wasn't even barely a thing and i never lived thru the 80s wish i could of its my favorite era and years is easily the old times 80s oldschool stuff. I live for this stuff. I definitely have an old soul Honestly i love hard rock and the 80s I play music and guitar, and Whitesnake is my favorite band from the 80s soooo good killer songs and albums and stuff Can't go wrong with this stuff I Just got a les paul Gibson and I've been rocking these songs on it 😂😎😎🤘🤘👍💯
Right there with you @herbie9123
Class of 87. It was both a hell of a year and time.
Got that right brother
Slow n easy..slow n easy.
Still Of The Night was one of the best rock and roll tracks ever.
IS STILL one of the best rock and roll track
Best driving song too…….. makes you want to floor it on the highway
Agree
Dok su Paranoid i Smoke on the water himne!
Tommy Aldridge this legend is 73 years old and still beating those drums like they owe him money
Thank you John Sykes for creating this wonderful guitar riff.
One of the best rock songs ever!
What’s so wonderful about it? It’s a typical 80’s power chord with some noodling.
@@sspbrazilYou act as if playing it didn’t requre any skill.
@@danielet.7527 I’m sure it takes skill, just not that interesting.
@@sspbrazil okay poser
@@harpyfridge I don’t hunk you know what that word means. I genuinely don’t think John Sykes is that interesting of a guitar player, he doesn’t even make music anymore because he got stuck in the 80’s and he lost his hairspray.
Just wondering how these grandpas sounds a lot better than youngsters nowadays
Most of these guys have been around for awhile. You’ve got 2 generations of ass kickers on that stage!
One of the Granpas Reb Beach of Winger, check him out when young, Reb Beach cutting loose, original
Totally agree 💪💪
Experience
What music today? Lmmfao!! Wigger rock, Modern crap rap and Techno shit? Most modern music sucks it's not music
One of the best live performances ever! From the highly recommended 'Live In The Still Of The Night' London, 2004 show!!
Doug Aldrich Amazing!
Sure Is! 💯💯🤘🤘👍😎
That guitar solo is something else! 🎸
3:10 how is that riff even legal ? Absolutely fantastic
Absolutely, awesome. Agree. Love this part too.
John Sykes mate wrote it and played all guitar coverdale needs 2 guitarists now days haha
I love this piece. This song is so beautifully arranged.
John Sykes told that he wrote this riff while he was in the kitchen with his mama, haha very interesting fact
YES! Gives me a Natural High…love it!
By far their best song they ever did. 2004 and sounds like he was still in 70’s and 80’s form. It wasn’t until around 2015 he lost his range. Simply amazing and one of the best singers ever. The things he did before deep purple , during deep purple, white snake, Coverdale and page , was legendary.
I think what makes this song really special are not just David Coverdale’s incredible vocal abilities but also the monological, almost paranoid narrative of the lyrics, paired with that dynamic riff that shifts it a psychedelic, almost surreal atmosphere.
Most massive electric guitar sounds ever/ Coverdale's voice is at it's Zenith here !!!###
" Be safe, be happy and don't let anybody make you affraid! "
🙌✨❤️💫
Man this video with headphones, you feel like in heaven
FACT!!
Always with the headphones for this one ! DAMN !!!
Indeed bro...
Hell Yes 🤘🤘🤘😍😍😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍🤘😍
TRUE! 😍😱
"Can't keep away" Even after 30+ years! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😍😍😍
I love playing this on the drums, even though Tommy kicks my ass and I'm 55 and started in the mid 80s. I suck compared to him, he's really underrated on drummers charts.
Honestly, that's one of the top best bridges I've ever heard in a song
There is NO better version of ANY song ever written or performed....period. 10,000,000,000 thanks to you DC, Be safe, be happy and don't let anybody make you afraid....the best performance video of any song ever performed any where or any time.....amazing!
Who’s listening in 2021 😎♥️
😀🤘
I will let my son and grandson hear it
🤘🏼
☝
O yeaah 🎶👋
Tommy Aldridge is an absolute beast. Amazing he plays like that at his age.
My mom always had WHITESNAKE warped in the car !! I'm 35 and I listen to this song at least once a day .
Rock keeps you young
Legend amazing live loved it
Absolutely legend!!..a quite underread!
I came to see Tommy.
everyone talking about the guitars and drums, but can we take a moment to acknowledge how awesome Marco Mendoza's playing is here, he is on fire
great Bassist
True
Still one of the greatest breakdowns in music history! Absolutely Incredible!
It simply doesn't get any better than this!! Power, precision and presence.
Uploading this in HD is a gift. One of the best concert in rock history, for sure. Playing the songs as good as the studio version or even better, absolutely huge
THIS IS THE GREATEST SONG THAT LED ZEPPELIN NEVER RECORDED
Necesito que Dave Coverdale y Robert Plant sean hermanos
AMEN.😊
it's been nearly 2 decades since this phenomenal performance. damn! time flies.
Doug Aldrich is the absolute best replacement for Sykes. His style and tone is on.
He's actually a little better
He gets it
That guitar tone omfg
SantiCamtasia Hell yeah 🤘
@@Jimboishere11 you only need a Marshall '78 modified by John Suhr with a furman pq3, a Marshall Super Lead with Mark Cameron mod., a Custom Shop Gibson Les Paul R7 GoldTop modified (with Grover tuners, a nut bone, stainless steel frets, medium/high action and not regular at all, Suhr Aldrich pick ups, these pickups must be near to the strings, tonepros tune-o-matic system, go with the creamtone wiring too), a strymon delay, huh? oh.. well... a bit exspensive LOL
oh, I'd wrong the delay.. the Eventide H9 it's all what you need.
@@stefanofranco154 Only??? Haha 👍
@@stefanofranco154 Utter Bollocks.
Anyone reading his post who is learning guitar, I urge you to ignore the utter shit he has copied and pasted from god knows where.
Yes, it's on a Les Paul and that's about it. All you need on your combi or pedal board is a little gain, chorus, a tiny bit of reverb and a little delay and of course a lot of practice to get the tone through your fingers. The dirt can be achieved through the bridge on high volume without a pedal if you prefer not to use high gain or distortion.
That's it.
How is Coverdale's voice so good in 2004????? And the song is still in the same key! He hits all the notes.
He is awesome man
@niqab12no it doesn't
This video was pitch shifted, he's actually singing a semitone lower. Still impressive though.
Doug and Reb. ✌️🤘 Coverdale the best of Yorkshire Gold. 🏴🇦🇺
Let's hear it for the great Tommy Aldridge!
tambor76 absolute beast!!!!
Agreed 👍👍
Groove monster.
The guy is an octopus
@@twiggyb67 lollllll agree
I could create an endless loop from 3:10 to 3:45 and listen to it all day long. Put it in background of a bad ass action hero movie, at the beginning intro or during a "kick bad guys' asses" moment, and this would play so nicely.
Arcydzieło. Coś niesamowitego. Ciary na całym ciele, od początku utworu, aż do samego końca. Uwielbiam!
When a song can send multiple shivers up your spine!
One of the greatest band in history..
One of the truly most epic iconic legs dart rock songs and performances ever
One of the all-time greatest live performances of such a classic song...other than the seemingly endless and downright close-up facial shots of the audience. Sheesh!
Una performance live di questo livello in ogni aspetto musicale e per ogni musicista é semplicemente assurda, incredibile ed emozionante. Nell'olimpo dei live di ogni tempo. Grazie per questo regalo. 🤟🤟🤟🤟
When music had passion and soul, this song is epic, David C is a legend in my books, when music like this was at its peak, nothing today compares. Whitesnake forever!💪🤘👊
For sure!!!!!!!!!
Yes, real music is almost dead these says unfortunately.
Coverdale is such an underrated front man. Insane voice, great stagecraft. Just an amazing performer.
David always has great charisma on stage. It's too bad he couldn't maintain his vocals over the years. This whole DVD had 'studio magic' all over it.
Man, one of the best transitions from the bridge to solo!
FANTASTICI WHITESNAKE !!!!!! ...AND OF COURSE DAVID COVERDALE !!!!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR WONDERFUL MUSIC !!!!!!
This is the greatest live DVD they ever put out
John Sykes is quite possibly the most underrated guitar player in the history of music.
Odličan je on gitarist, ali imaš presveto trojstvo Iomy, Blackmoore, Paige, pa onda sve ostale...
I always watch this and dont get bored, it sounds awesome
I still get chills hearing this song. I remember hearing and being blown away by Sykes and just the overall talent and production on the entire album. This lineup is killer here. David sounded incredible and after seeing him back in '97 w/Vandenberg and Farris on guitar this was a million times better. His voice was tired in '97 and in this clip he completely smashed it. It was lik being 17 all over again. Easily one of the timeless hard rocks songs of my generation. Anytime I play this with a band it never gets old. Ever.
Thank God metal is alive. Thank u Mr Coverdale and your team.
Who else came for the guitar solo
Aidan DeNeui Just you. I came for Tommy's power drumming.
(Give me)Sykes please. This was merely good.
3:10 baby
Yeah man, that solo was awesome, and he's the second best guitarist on stage, lol.
I also love Tommy Aldridge ;)
This is unbelievably good
Who else thinks that this is the best version of this song ?? way better than the original... Like a fine wine has aged exceptionally. Love this live 🙌 🔥
I Think This Version Is One Of Their Best! Easily!
That's not a wine it's a Whiskey in the best wood 👍
No one can replace John sykes
ni de broma, su voz da verguenza
This song has aged like a fine wine, unfortunately David Coverdale has aged like a fine cheese.
God bless you, Mr. Coverdale!
Oh wow!!! From the Philippines....
Excellent Beautiful Sublime Inmortal WS... Rules Forever 🎼🥁🎙️🙏🎶🎵🛸
Has got to be in top 5 heavy metal vocalist of all time!!
I wonder if there is a list of the best metal band singers?
@Dafyd Maddz For me, the best metal singer of all time is Steven Duren known as Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P.
Then probably, Dio and Jorn Lande follow with Rob Halford.
@Bee Ehess matter of taste dude
@Bee Ehess I didn't speak about Coverdale I spoke about Blackie Lawless. Cuz he's criminally underrated people's usually forget him. But for me no one can stand near him. Killer voice, unique tune and raspyness. he can sing ballad or raging badass song. His voice carry so much feelings. And he's among the few who sing so freely like a wild child (even now). I invite you to hear "I wanna be somebody live" or "widowmaker" and "the idol" or "Hold on to my heart". Now if for you only Freddy Mercury exist... well it's your right. he's was a good singer technical with powerful voice does it makes him the best? in Metal clearly not, in Rock you can argue a life you won't find an answer.
Dickinson, King Diamond, Kiske, Halford, Dio all the others are on one less level
One of the best performance ever.
Music that is good for the Soul, you can see it in the people’s faces
Still one of my favorite songs and always will be.
TOMMY A - Never gets old.....
Sorry for being late to the party on David Coverdale. I like his voice. This song sounds like if Robert Plant of Zeppelin and John Oliva of Savatage were combined.
Excellent show guys,
I tried to imitate that vocal ranges for a few times and the day after I had a sored throat. :)
Here I am again September 2019, great song.
The song makes me feel half my age and twice as happy
Can’t keep away...
Brilliant Performance!!!
I LOVE the way David Coverdale changes the song from rock to soul at around 2.05. It completely alters the atmosphere for a while. It must have been an awesome concert!
2004??? My dad was alive and I was happy Greece was the champion of Europe what a year !!! Good days happy people ❤❤❤❤ now 2024 what happened to humanity?still alive still of the night ☮️
He sounds better here than live videos from 1987.
Still here I 2024 🤘rock never dies...like the goodies really
Jesus, those are two great guitar players!
Thanks for putting an ad in this, really appreciate it.....
This is an incredible live version!
Got to see WHITE SNAKE in Memphis Tennessee great concert
Sing it David Coverdale! Love Whitesnake!💜
I saw them live during their Slip of the Tongue tour. My God David Coverdale is one of the best vocalists to hear sing live.
Great playlist
One of my all time favorite WS songs.
I don't often listen to Coverdale and Whitesnake, but when i do so does my entire zipcode.....you must turn it up, it's the law.....
2:13 Reb Beach' guitar sounds amazing, like Eddie Van Halen's "Cathedral". The editor could not show it properly (he put images of Doug Aldrich).
People in the comments, stop making fun of David's shirt and jeans! It was in style (sort of) at the time in the mid 2000s. Kind of.
I think one of the things that is lacking In Society these days, is that the younger generations have never actually had the experience of witnessing true rock "Gods" up on stage like we gen x (and earlier) have, and I think that maybe if they did, I would be interested in what they make of that phenomenon. Would it inspire them, or would it just go in one ear and out the other? Who knows. Long live Rock and Roll...and Whitesnake, of course.
David Coverdale for life. The best and age is just a number. Spirit is eternal as evinced by this song.
Yes, he sounded awesome in this video which was filmed in 2004. However, quite predictably, he's human, and he sounds nowhere close to this in more recent performances.
@6PERRYFAN4 - sadly, agreed! But you know what, he's been doing it for 40 years so kudos to the man. Plus the wall of sound and sheer caliber of musicianship behind him is astounding. No, DC's voice is not what it used to be but they are still worth a ticket price :)
Hari Menon agree
At his age and for as long as he's been doing this, it can't be easy for him to wail all night. I take my hat off to this man. 😎
Tommy Aldridge, the one and only. He has played with the best of the best and still stands out behind the kit. It's amazing
Awesome
Agreed fn Amazing! Everything is Powerfully done! Audio, Visual etc, Lead guitar, drums, vocals, bass, rythum, editing! In my top 3 easy. They are not young lads, Still Prime time, Right here, right now! WOW! 🤘👀❤️
Coverdale was already an old man for the metal scene in the 80s....but kills it in 04...wow
Ronnie James Dio was born in the early 1940s and was much older than alot of bands from the 70s
LOL..silly statement....Coverdale was 26 when they started White Snake and middle 30s when WS was hot. 30s is far from a old man...He is the same age as Halford from JP and others...
Coverdale always looked old. He was 26 but looked 40..incredibly he’s better looking than a lot of other peoplehis own age now go figure 🤷🏻♂️
Shut up kid, a old man in the 80s, you weren't even born dkhead
@@rugbytimothy1315 He's a stupid kid bro, he wasn't even born in 87 when this song hit big! Lmao
3:45 This part here send shivers up my spine. The cohesion of the group in the flow, the badass tone of the guitar, Tommy's groove. It's fucking amazing.
Man what a lineup. This band is tight. Aldridge sounds fantastic.
Everyone did a tremendous job in this show. 👏👏🔥
Dam right they do. Hall of Fame all the way. They're BADASS 👍☺️☺️☺️
Parabéns, você merece mais e mais.
Love this .... captures the magic of a WS gig, perfectly.
Absolutely brilliant show. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Music will never be any better than this. When music reaches its peak, inevitably this world needs a reset. Embrace the end.
Half of those 1.7 million views are me over the last 9 years or so.
The more I listen to the more I find it's a piece of art.
Temblando de emoción!! Ya no se hacen maravillas como esta!!
Noo .olvídate..esto es espectacular..te llega a los huesos
The editing on this video and the audio quality on this video could have been so much better. This legendary song and band deserves so much more.
Only a handful of bands on earth can perform impeccably on stage as in a recording studio... Whitesnake can deliver that 101%.. What a band and what a Song!!!
Whitesnake Forever Number One in ROCK MUSIC !!!!!! THANK YOU Mr. Coverdale for this !!!!!!
Electric guitar is the best creation of the 20th century
Mindblowing performance, ever for a not superfan like me. Holy hell, what an energy!
awesome, powerful track!
1987 I was 15 and blasting this out my bedroom window when my parents was out. Feels like yesterday
