Masterful display of power, tactics, ans patience. Chapeau a vous, JA!!
How great is Valverde. In his 40s, passing on the sidewalk. Anyway, Julien's legs have been insurmountable.
Best Julian Alaphilippe 🏆🇨🇵
Alagoynhas Bahya 🌴 Brazyu 🇧🇷
The best attack and counter attack ive seen this year so far, these two guys are superhuman
Allaphilpe Era!
Et de deux pour Juju, non... ?
It's telling that the multi-win veterans Valverde and Alaphilippe hold back while the newbie Roglic goes too soon . . .
I love this race for this final km! Congrats Julian!
When Roglic attacked I was like no way! Winning from there shouldn't be possible. He was looking very good but I was right. He went too soon. Maybe next year with more experience. Alaphilippe is the nex king of the Huy! Also, I'm curious where Pogi would have finnished. It's a shame he couldn't race.
Roglic has won many races attacking early like this. Julian was stronger today, that's it
@@CBMaster2 yeah true. He didn't really have any other choice, Julian is faster in the sprint.
@@viktorgombos4975 according
I don't think Roglic went too soon. I just think he got surprised by seeing Alaphillipe was there at the summit, passing him. Roglic could've won. He just needed to get one or two looks to the rest behind to manage the distance.
When he saw Alaphillipe he still sprinted, what means he had something left. I think it was inexperience in this race that costed him the win.
Alaphillipe on the other hand was always looking behind controlling the race what shows he learned to not spend any unnecessary energy before it's needed, and to not relax until he's safe. At least in this race. 2020 LBL is not included in this comment ofc😂
This comment is not by any means taking any merit from Alaphillipe, but Roglic could've won it with more awareness
"Winning from there shouldn't be possible" It is possible. In 2011 Gilbert destroyed everybody when he attacked at the same moment ruclips.net/video/g5WWb9OPfgc/видео.html
Valverde passing half the bunch on the pavement is just crazy. But he payed for it in the end. That's why you have to be in a good position at the start of the climb.
I noticed that too. He did that also in the Pogacar's win in Basque country, he started the final climb in last position and somehow fjnished third, cant believe an expert rider like him does this kind of mistakes
@@blackpaint9093 yeah he did it there too. Idk why. I think he simply didn't have the team here to put him in position. The same thing happened in 2018 I think, when Alaphilippe won his first one.
Bala FOR EVER
@@viktorgombos4975 completely true, Valverde has an insane condition but not a team that can help him too much. In the Liegi he will.definetely end up in the winning group but no way he wins in a sprint, Roglic is just too fast, so sad about his accident in 2017, he lost basically what made him invincible in the Fleche and in the liegi, an insane explosivity. Age is coming but in this way i would bet my ass that he can podium in the TDF
@@blackpaint9093 He didn't lose all of it. In 2018 he won a word championship with his sprint, and he beat sagan in a slightly uphill finnish in the Vuelta too. I think it's not the crash, it's his age.
Great race by Alaphillipe
Nice that he didn’t cheat and deviate from his line and take roglic out-as he has done several times b f
Let’s hope he is growing up
Well, you don't see that every day. It's been a while since Primoz Roglic got out-sprinted on a summit finish like that and by the world champion no less. Good riding by both him and Julian. This is why cycling is a fun sport to watch: it's never over until that final line is crossed.
Not exactly a mountain side 😂
It's also experience, Valverde for example won this race 5 times, 4x came up short but ended on the podium. 16 participations 9 times 1-3.
Alaphililippe:
15-16: 2nd
17: not present
18-19: 1st
20: not present
21: 1st
22: 4th
These men know how to ride this race, off course putting in the wattages is important. But also knowing when to accelerate.
Roglic is made for this kind of finishes, yet odd enough this was the only time he did it. While combination of La Fleche and LBL is great.
// Bad roads, dilapidated houses,... my God Wallonia is ugly!
Roglic lose this race only that , attacked 100 sooner that he should.

G.O.A.T 🐐
Merckx is the GOAT
The best attack and counter attack ive seen this year so far, these two guys are superhuman
JULIAN!
alaphilippe's return
Glad to see top riders in good form. Great race!
Y el Bala 3° con 41 tacos
Thanks! Regards from Colombia.

Magnifique 😍👌🏼
Show!!!👏👏👏👏
Bravo alainphilipe
Woods doesn't get caught in the pack on that final climb I believe he takes it.
Juli lovely 👊
encore juste son levé de bras !!
Et les commentaires ??? -_-
Way to go buddy!
bravo Alaphilippe

Chapeau for TOP 3. Roglic made this race, that was close :) Alaphilippe another win for king of puncheurs. But emperor of puncheurs Alejandro Valverde - look how behind he was at the beginning. Look how he gained few places by skillful riding on pavement 1:37 and he managed to be on podium. Shame for Hirschi and Pogacar, who couldn't join the party after their team was excluded with covid suspects. Shame for Pidcock, who was still 6th but he lost energy when he crashed and needed to chase the peleton.
Errrr. Valverde got dropped by Alaphilippe.
@@frankburn6312 Yeah, maybe because he started the climb way outside the top 20 and also he is 41 years old. Alaphilippe was very strong tho, he deserved it. Roglic was too, but he attacked too soon.
Julian au top 👌
I was a little scared for Julian with that celebration - camera angle made it look pretty close!
You know, it's just his usual thing. He makes you have a heart attack every time by raising his hand way too soon xD
The last kilometer is all that matters in this race!
Espectáculo!!!! Lou Lou is the best all arounder cyclist right now.
Can he do cyclocross, can he do mountainbiking? I know a cyclist that can ;)
@@Wisselwerking right, but haven’t seen MVD in yellow in the final week of a TDF yet...
@@Wisselwerking Alaphilippe was a cyclocross and mountain bike racer prior to his pro road days.
@@emarqz True, and Ala is most certainly one of the best cyclists out there. Luckily for us there are a lot of good cyclists. Never a dull moment
Ugh
If Alaphillipe had a better team....
Alaphillipe has the best team in the world around him
@@svitkramarros471 not for a 3 week race. Hopefully that'll change with Remco Evenepoel and João Almeida gaining the star spots. The team might get some help for them soon. They're the best for the one day races tho.
Better team??? Do you want Merckx, Hinault, Anquetil and Indurain working for him??? LOL
Mad climb. Damn!
Gracias!

What nonsense! If the Spanish youth were better, Valverde would not have performed for a long time.
