    I wanted to use the kick-ass music we all know and love from the sick promos many of you have already seen. That ALSO means I went into this knowing the video would be demonetized.
    Please make sure to leave a like, comment, and share around for ya boi. I need to eat. Not this month, but, next month for sure. 😬

      @@XDeej Hey man, huge respect. I'm curious, when you upload a video to your channel that gets demonetized for copyrighted content, are you still able to monetize all your other videos without issue and still be qualified for RUclips Partner?

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  7 дней назад

      Yeah, it doesn't affect anything other than this video. Some music will automatically block it from being shown in certain regions, some will automatically get a video demonetized, and some simply can't be used at all. Just depends on the rights holders and their standing instructions through the content ID system. I did something similar for a video I did on Overwatch where I used all Overwatch soundtrack music.
      Unless you go out of your way to skirt the rules, it's not usually an issue as long as you're careful with what you're using.

    You absolutely shouldn't have skipped over the 2024 run. It is his most important run. That run is what makes him the goat forever, it's like Jordan's sixth ring, even if it's so recent the odds were so high, so much stacked against him yet Faker showed the world.

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  8 дней назад +10

      I feel like there were a fair few things that happened in 2024 that definitely would have changed the tone of the video in a way that conflicted with the tone I was looking to deliver. If nothing else, I left some things out there to cover if I end up doing a follow up, but there was also a ton of stuff that already got cut from the original edit. This video could have been almost an hour if I kept everything in.

      The most unfortunate aspect of creating this video now is that it will likely be 'out of date' come the 2025 season, for better or worse lol. Even still, as someone who isn't really into league myself, I felt like I had to dive into the legacy a bit more once I realized it wasn't just a typical "he's the GOAT" level of simplicity.

    I’d never really cared for esport, even as a 50yo gamer. But then Arcane hit. It still wasn’t enough to fuel my interest when Season 1 ended, but after watching Season 2, a 2-part, 3-hour long documentary on this Faker guy popped up in my feed.
    Watched that one, then another, then started to watch the LCK replays and what do you know? I am now a T1 fan.
    This video showcases once again the mettle displayed by champions, regardless of discipline.
    Faker really stands out in terms of achievement , work ethics and personal character.

      I really love watching the best in the world do what they do... Even if it's not something I'm normally into. I think once you get to a point where you're not just world class, but you're a cut above all of those that are, just watching them do their thing is something special. I don't play league, and I'm not overly familiar with it by any means, but good stories resonate with folks regardless. I completely agree with you.

    26:15 tbh no one thought it was fakers final year. Despite having injuries he himself assured everyone that he found a treatment for it and the thought of retiring is still too far for him

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  9 дней назад +2

      By all accounts from those close enough to offer actual insight, he was diagnosed with CTS, which has a range of treatments from something as simple as physical therapy all the way up to surgery, and has an notoriously difficult to determine prognosis. Now, I'm sure LOTS of people didn't want Faker to retire... and Faker was probably number 1 on that list. But, I've done the research... and I promise you lots of people were also confident (at the time) that 2023 was likely to be his last shot at a world championship, and for super reasonable considerations. There were questions about his salary vs. value, his declining performance in previous years, and his age compared to the league average. After just barely limping into worlds, no one was expecting them to win, let alone Faker having another shot down the line.
      I'm glad it wasn't his last year, and I'm glad he healed and ended up winning even more, but the speculation wasn't just surrounding his injury.

    Samsung team wasn't that young they where at that time a team looking for there 2nd wolds championship since the blue and white days, they even got a crazy story after the sister team was disallowed and only one team only

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  5 дней назад +1

      I don't think they were 'young' per se, but after the restructure, the team as it existed took place in 2015. Since the sequence took place in 2017, it means that that iteration of the team had only existed 2 years, which in my opinion, is relatively new compared to most of the teams they were going up against. Maybe you disagree with the framing, but I don't feel it's entirely inaccurate to refer to them as a 'newer' team in the context provided.

      I know my version and perception of the story. That's all. I just wanted to deliver it in a way I hadn't seen done. And yes, I had to use footage from T1 and Riot at times. It turns out that the people in the video did not in fact want to offer exclusive interviews for me.

  • @link16600
    @link16600 8 дней назад +1

    I strongly disagree.
    You here say "he simply wasn't Faker". Yes it is ofc true Pobe isn't Faker, they are different dudes, yeah sure. But you say it to mean, in a way, that he wasn't good enough and so is the main reason T1 wasn't winning as much as when it's Faker playing. And here is where i disagree, Pobe was, individually, "good". He didn't throw games and did a good job. The problem was not coming from his skill etc, but from the entire team.
    ZOFGK was very special, mostly at that time, because 4 were kinda "rekless rookies", their play-style was very agressive and unique (comparing to typical LCK players), and they all have champion-pool that match that specific style.
    And this wouldn't work in any other team, no other team in the world can have 4 players going ultimate-bravery on professional competitive games. The only thing that allowed them to play that way is Faker, because of his leadership and game knowledge.
    First, he just knows everything. He knows if they can take a risk, if it will be punished or not, he knows where opponents will be before they even think about moving to.
    Second, he offers 4 others the space they need to play their style. He is able to attract 2, 3 or even 4 ennemies to him alone, and survive and/or even trade-kill, offering lot of space and time to his mates on the map. Having the "global taunt" effect helps others a lot to play the way they like to, on risky and/or exotic champions.
    And third, all those combined, with his legendary name, provides those 4 young over-talented headless-chikens a lot of confidence. They know they can play freely because they can count on him if it turns bad, they know he is here to guide them etc. And that aspect is very important for players who are kinda "new" to the professional scene (second season only for some of them).
    So it is not because Poby was playing bad and that they missed Faker skills to win games, it is mostly because they missed his aura.
    If you watch those games, like i did, Poby wasn't bad at all, like, for real the dude would 1v9 every games in LEC or LCS. But the 4 others were clearly not playing the way they used to. They were hesitating and scared of every move etc. Just because they lost the self-confidence that they have when Faker is here. Actually, Poby wasn't the one who was the worst during that month, the botlane was seriously questionnable for exemple.
    Faker is no more a skill based player that 1v9 games and solo-wins trophy (don't get me wrong, it often happens as we saw in 2024 Worlds, he was a machine), but a tactical leader and a captain who unleashs his team-mates potential.
    And here is the problem : T1 can't replace him. Like, they could have picked the most skilled player in the world, the guy wouldn't have made better than Poby did. And when Faker will retire, T1 will have to adjust their game-style and strategy.

      1-7 with Poby... 8-2 with Faker...
      Despite me saying in the video that Poby was plenty skilled in his own right, he simply wasn't Faker. You can slice that 1,000 different ways if you want to, but it doesn't make what I said any less true.

      2024 had a lot more to it in terms of context, and also would have resulted in a sharp shift in tone for the video. In the end, the decision was made to remove a lot of what we had for the 2024 season (as well as other sections throughout the video) to keep the story I was trying to deliver tight while providing an opportunity to dive deeper into 2024 and beyond if I was able to do a follow up at some point. When/if that day comes, the other 15 minutes or so of already edited segments will probably get used for a proper sequel project.
