They did not, however, ELIMINATE all four LPL teams (as this was impossible in the format unless both they and BLG were 2-2). BLG was the last team they didn't eliminate, and at both 2023 and 2024 MSI were the team they simply couldn't overcome in a Bo5, and unlike JDG had yet to beat in a Bo5 internationally, as they beat BLG in a Bo3 earlier during the EWC this year. As of this year's World Finals, this roster has now personally eliminated 5 different LPL teams on their way to a Championship.

Chills the whole time The Apex of the World was playing during game 5, your macro explanation is easy to follow, detailed and entertaining at the same time. Good stuff
11:19 - The reason Guma/Keria decide to go back bot is two-fold. One, they may be trying to mindgame BLG's tempo yet again by guessing that Elk/On are returning top themselves expecting GuKe to laneswap immediately to top after Zeus clears the wave and they lose vision. The other reason could be simpler still: they think that from Level 3 they can play the 2v2 lane out now with access to all three skills now that Kalista's Level 1/2 advantage over Xayah/Renata isn't as prominent. Also, if they do end up matching 2v2 bot, this is better to defend Oner from invades based on where the Kindred mark spawns are likely to be, and this is better to defend Faker from roams because the jungle roam path for Blitzcrank is stronger coming from Blue-Side bot. 17:50 - ON doesn't "perfectly block" anything here, T1 are attempting to zero out the Rakan before Bin can get involved but their CC chain timing is slightly off with Gumayusi' Arrow being late. However, as Keria had just used his Q to soft-trade on Rakan, it's on cooldown during this attempted CC chain so it's unlikely it would have worked anyhow. 20:42 - "I honestly can't tell which is objectively better." Watching this game live, my assessment was that BLG's comp would live and die by whether they could quickly perform a "shock-and-awe" snap-engages on T1, either instantly killing their target or chunking them out before T1's reply. Jarvan was drafted to double-down on locking down Xayah (as he was the only remaining viable jungler who can this, with Vi not doing well into T1's comp) and guaranteeing a forced-Flash if done quickly before T1 can get into position. I thought Jarvan in particular is very risky here because his Cataclysm feeds into the CC chains of Galio/Poppy, and the projectile protection from Xin Zhao ult can also be tricky to play around for Knight/Elk. While there is also entirely too much AP damage on BLG's comp to deal with the Galio pick in an even gamestate, and while Knight would have liked to go Sylas to gain access to T1's strong ults, there is too much disruption on T1's comp so BLG opted to provide their comp with more pick-potential, a drafting decision T1 made during the TES series which was used to safely punish their frontline repeatedly. T1's comp is perhaps objectively better because it likely for BLG to overextend in teamfights trying to kill the Xayah as they lack the tankiness to absorb the AoE from T1 even if they succeed. In an even gamestate, it comes down to exploiting vision pockets to achieve numbers or HP advantages before objective fights for BLG, and for T1 it comes down to their choice whether to defend Xayah at all costs or counter-dive BLG and use their superior topside champion matchups to punish clumping. The reason why T1's 3v4 turnaround on BLG works is because 23:44 Knight's Charm-Flash is pixels away from hitting Oner and despite it not hitting BLG decide to continue chasing in order to strafe through mid to Baron. Faker takes advantage of the smallest window of a Flashless Knight overextending before Bin's arrival. Each of Faker's subsequent Galio E's hit Elk, the last at max range at the exact moment Elk tries to fit in an orbwalked auto. Friendly PSA: The word "doven" in English is not any existing conjugated form of the word "dove", so the context in which you're using it makes it grammatically incorrect.
yeah game 5 blg comp is all trying to run into t1 and all of t1's champ WANT that to happen, blg is forced to engage onto xayah gragas galio where they can fully utilize their kits and punish them.
If Knight does not flash ult here 23:44 chasing oner in Game 5, what are the chances A) Faker goes for that play with ahri flash and ult up B) if Faker goes for that play, will Ahri be able to escape?
What I like about this series was that it was like a UFC Championship Fight by which BLG knocked down T1 to take round 1. T1 then retaliated by knocking down BLG and took round 2. BLG Scoring a takedown on T1 in round 3 and put the ground and pound until the bell rings. Game 4 and both fighters are exhausted, it's a toe-to-toe standup fight leaving both bloodied after the round but T1 edging BLG just a little bit. Round 5 and it all comes to down to pure grit. T1 knocks down BLG in the final seconds and lays down a hammer fist for the finishing strike before the referee stops the fight. T1 defends their title.
I mean... not only you are an awesome strategical player but also an incredible person: the details, the similarities with past games. you really bring passion in this game
Even as a Korean and a hardcore T1 fan, I couldn't help myself but be impressed at how well BLG prepared for the finals. Very happy that T1 and Faker won, but even if BLG won I would have said "well deserved". Very excited to see how far BLG can go next year if they keep the same roster!
You can use Shen Ult, Galio Ult and TP during Nocturne ult.. if you cast it basically within the 0.5s of Paranoia starting up. The nearsighted effect from Paranoia can also be blocked by spell shields or removed using QSS.
Just before the Sylas play with Rakan ult at 18:30 you can see first Faker starts recalling, then he stops, waits a while and then goes for the play. We will have to wait for the coms but just like his Azir engage vs JDG last year he calls the play 1 min before. Great analysis!
Incredible breakdown dude. The movements, choices and even mentalities of every player This was truly even more of a game of chess than I ever realized watching it live And way closer also than I gave it credit for Great work
according to theShy, faker made a smart guess (not a wild guess) at 16:50. He walked up aggressive to test the water and Elk zigg use W defensively, which made faker more incline to believe Elk teammate already backed off.
24:25 a small detail i think a lot missed , where Faker held his stopwatch so he could Q first before going Zhonya's. This is big because he had Riftmaker AND a full on Rabadon instead of a Zhongya, making him heal while stalling at the same time.
Dodging Jax's e-stun allowed him to even make that play. Also using galio e to dodge j4 eq was clutch. All these plays including yours cumulatived with Faker living. Faker is soo clutch. 😂
16:48 It's not really that big a gamble - I think it's just a read off Elk's posturing. When Faker walked up while waiting in between last hitting under tower, Elk instantly Ws away. Every single move from that point onwards is body language that says 'I'm caught'. It COULD of course have been bait, but I think the body language is what motivates Faker to make his play
@@miantava Thanks for attempting to champion proper grammar, but I think my sentence needs no correction. You might want to reconsider your suggested correction: 'could have course been'.
@@miantava he said "could OF COURSE" not "could of". If he said what you're trying to say it would be "could have course been" which makes no sense bruh 💀💀
Very well done! You shared different insights on macro timings and explained teamfights much better! Also so glad for the final ending, so many videos just cut abruptly after the win, but the endscreen let us savor the moment! Thank you Polypuff❤️
Fakers performances in games 4-5 was like Lebron in 2013 against Boston in Game 6 of the ECF down 3-2. He was not letting his team lose. That was the craziest stuff I've ever seen and we've seen alot of crazy Faker moments. He was playing like a man possessed.
Knew that Elk sent in hawkshot but I thought it was after it had reached Faker he fired the arrow. The fact he not only hit it blind but also went for the "shadow shuriken jutsu" makes it so much better. Still, the most favorite play is nonetheless Faker's Rakan ultimate flank. Simply gorgeous. Unfortunately, I'mbad at League, so I would never get most of the macro decisions you so insightfully broke down here. I only wish I could watch these finals with your eyes.
The mental resilience these pros have is incredible. Zeus dying 3 times to dives and still winning is amazing. I can tell you for a fact that my top laner would run it down and stay jungle diff after the first dive.
Its interesting that you thought that the game 5 draft was even. I thought it was insanely T1 favored. BLG is all about engage and T1 is all about counter engage. First pick Jax getting countered by gragas galio, picking Ahri into a bunch of tanky champions, Rell having an awful time vs the T1 comp, Xayah being an insane pick because of her ult being so good as a safety tool. Like I think if you are building liandries on ahri, you probably picked the wrong champion. Imagine playing T1's draft into Hwei or Asol. It woud be so unplayable. I get they're picking comfort, but I still think you gotta make sure your team comp doesn't have an insane weakness to counter engage.
My favorite moment was after the opening ceremony when they had the player cinematic. They talk about all those feelings and pressures of competing in the final, and they asked "Where do you go to find the light?" Then they played supportive messages from the competitor's family, friends, and fans. Perfection, right in the feels.
As much I love the analysis in the video, I love the music picks just as much. I loved the use of various sonic pieces and Apex of the World from Fire Emblem Three Houses to talk about game 5 was perfect lol.
This is an awesome video. I watched worlds live; it was a hype game but getting a challenger perspective is something special. It would be interesting to see T1 react to this video to get some confirmations.
2:00 im gonna be real here: i do not understand why gumayusi did not flash sooner, he saw them coming, he knew he was in danger. Why do pros always tend to try to wait with their flash until theyre already at like 100 hp, when theyre already doomed to die? Like sure, if all works out in your favour, the enemy flashes too and you survive, but that just seems like an unnecessary gamble
24:02 I believe Knight doesn't have ult here. He used all the dashes on Guma, the ult icon is still lit up either because spectator error or because ult timer starts after ult period is over.
The ult timer icon is still lit up as well as the dash indicators are above his champion because it is still possible for him to gain charges during that time. But yes, you are correct, he has no charges to use.
24:00 slight correction, Ahri doesn’t have ult. the only reason the client shows it’s up, is because it’s still active for a potential reset. The Galio flash was completely free
If I have a penny every time ON missed Rell's Q on Oner, I would have 2 pennies. It's not much, but it's weird that it happened twice on the last bo5 match in the Worlds grand final
technically speaking it doesnt count … and “100% winrate against LPL in a bo5 at world” as a complete statement they did face all 4 LPL teams but only 3 bo5 in 2023
@@christophermauro-barias7451 T1 has not won against BLG on any Best of Fives as well (Mainly MSI). So T1 and BLG has never faced each other in a BEST OF FIVE AT WORLDS "YET", before the finals match up

ZOFGK MICRO IS CRAZY I think this roster is the best in LOL, when playing as a team, they shine with each other. The five players were perfectly in sync
18:30 feel like sej didnt really try enough to prevent that engage considering they saw faker pretty early and rakan ulting also denies the whole engage as they would charm eachother
13:21 Faker limit testing even for 1 cs. Also, the timing has to be right after the E hits to get it. 16:58 Faker knows that they reset because Elk used his W the moment Faker walked up and faked pressure. It's just full on mindgames from Faker Just finished watching. Really love this type of content from you, your touch of editing tickles my brain just right
After watching both teams struggle throughout the year to get to this point I got to see them both playing at the highest level. There were so many moments of intelligence as well as mechanical brilliance it was an absolute treat to watch. One of my favourite points that Poly didn't touch on was the drafting. The way that BLG drafted was the best I've seen anyone ever draft against this version of T1. The only flex pick they walked into the entire series was a Poppy. Admittedly, they had to give Keria Renata every time he wanted it to make it possible but together with the Varus bans they managed to prevent Keria counterpicks from ever becoming an issue and at the same time outdrafting on top side in most games. Also none of Zeus' more unorthodox picks ever got an angle, unfortunately that's relatively easy to prevent in a laneswap meta. In another timeline we would have gotten a showdown for the ages between Bin and Zeus, who both played extraordinary but were held back by being on the receiving end of punishment resulting from laneswaps.
great video. I'd love to see more breakdowns of series like this. I think you give a bit too much credit for some plays though lol. A lot of their genius is instinctual after playing thousands of hours of this game
Slight mistake at 1:00 sure T1 didnt face BLG in Quarters/Semi/Finals but T1 did face BLG I think during Swiss where they 2-0 them. In way they still ran the LPL Gauntlet BLG(2-0) > LNG(3-0) > JDG (3-1) > WBG (3-0) other than that I enjoyed your video. So which champs do u think that will get the skins lol ?
8:02 I believe they were intending to rush Herald but right as Faker tp's Herald got reset losing the chance to burn it down before BLG could stop them
8:30 well, the only difference between a play and an int is whether or not you make the other team confused enough to not punish you immediately, and, as the consequence, whether or not you success.
16:55 I think the moment Elk commits the Ziggs W early, Faker knew the others were at base since if the the two were still around, the W is vital for the cc chain
what's crazier about the faker sylas play in mid is that in their reviews of the series, both oner and keria said that they had no idea whether smolder and ziggs had flash up or not, they just decided they absolutely had to follow up with faker
good video, just a quick note, it was t1 vs the lpl not because of semis, but it was dubbed during quarters since t1 vs lng was the last game of quarters and at the time the 5 teams in the competition were t1 and the 4 lpl teams, eventually they beat lng and then it was t1 vs the 3 you mentioned. Also t1 beat blg in worlds 2023 in swiss 2-0 in a bo3
At 16:57, I think Faker might guess that the other two had left after seeing Ziggs used W defensively to escape instead of keeping it to catch Faker if he committed.
Game 4: 16:45 Faker got the hint because Elk used Satchel away. Sure Elk could mindgame him and baited that, but Faker still has Flash himself with Elk still being very far up in the lane, chance of him dying to Ziggs, Rakan and Sejuani is quite slim if he plays it out well enough. So this was a good play for Faker regardless, pretty bad by Elk. Oner also sidesteps Rakan knock-up at 17:27 to add to this micro play.
I am far from a pro player nor am I a good analyst, but the moment I saw Bin TP to the ward in the second last fight, I immediately screamed in my heart that T1 need to notice that and re-engage the other three BLG members now or lose the game. I am fvcking glad they did right away.

That ashe hawk shot to bait Yone E was crazy, the highest tier is just such a different game thank you for elucidating how awesome it was Poly!
i love content like this from you, pointing out big brain macro movements and micro mechanics that we mightve missed in the series. I hope this type of content gets big views and is rewarding so that we can see more :D keep it up
best quality analysis with the coolest details focused I have seen
Yamato and Bwipo got some really nice deep dive discussion but your video is such a treat to watch, definitely make more of these please
Yamato only diamond
20:42 - "I honestly can't tell which is objectively better."
Watching this game live, my assessment was that BLG's comp would live and die by whether they could quickly perform a "shock-and-awe" snap-engages on T1, either instantly killing their target or chunking them out before T1's reply.
Oh wow, are you challenger too?
Make a video. We need to see your analysis, Mr. Elf.
I love the ping analysis! It's exactly what i try to do in my games, and it's wonderful to see this level of mindgames explained. Thanks a lot!
I mean... not only you are an awesome strategical player but also an incredible person: the details, the similarities with past games. you really bring passion in this game
Great analysis, really interesting stuff! I'm a long time League player but this was a great insight into T1 and BLG's decision making.
Such a great final. And such great analysis. Thanks for the content!
Even as a Korean and a hardcore T1 fan, I couldn't help myself but be impressed at how well BLG prepared for the finals. Very happy that T1 and Faker won, but even if BLG won I would have said "well deserved". Very excited to see how far BLG can go next year if they keep the same roster!
your video gives me a lot of better understanding about the finals gameplay from both teams, thanks, you got a sub!
You can use Shen Ult, Galio Ult and TP during Nocturne ult.. if you cast it basically within the 0.5s of Paranoia starting up.
The nearsighted effect from Paranoia can also be blocked by spell shields or removed using QSS.
No kidding this was one of the best pro games analysis games I've seen in my life
Most analysis by the streamers are lacking unlike this one. Seems like a lack of worlds content this year.
The movements, choices and even mentalities of every player
This was truly even more of a game of chess than I ever realized watching it live
And way closer also than I gave it credit for
Great work
Great recap video man! You pointed out some really great stuff that I would’ve never noticed.
14:01 likely story, keria
according to theShy, faker made a smart guess (not a wild guess) at 16:50. He walked up aggressive to test the water and Elk zigg use W defensively, which made faker more incline to believe Elk teammate already backed off.
I learned more about league in 25 minutes than 8 years of playing.
This game was crazy, and the only worlds that I got to watch from beginning to end live. And the stuff you’re pointing out makes it even crazier.
@@miantava how are you so confidently wrong 😂
@@miantava he said "could OF COURSE" not "could of". If he said what you're trying to say it would be "could have course been" which makes no sense bruh 💀💀
Excellent analysis, incredible video brother, liked and subscribed, hope you upload more stuff like this
Very well done!
Zeus and keria did amazing stuff this series, and worlds in general too
Knew that Elk sent in hawkshot but I thought it was after it had reached Faker he fired the arrow.
My favorite moment was when I completely forgot this was going on and missed the matches altogether. You just reminded me it happened.
They all want to show up like the unkillable demon king, but it's not that easy.
Yep, that was just very stupid positioning by knight after missing the flash+charm. No reason to be melee range with no movement or cc ability left
"keria chased knight all the way into his house" LMFAOO
ITS GOOOOOOOOOOOOD
24:00 slight correction, Ahri doesn’t have ult. the only reason the client shows it’s up, is because it’s still active for a potential reset.
The Galio flash was completely free
If Ahri didnt waste flash ult on oner. Does she live here easily?
If I have a penny every time ON missed Rell's Q on Oner, I would have 2 pennies. It's not much, but it's weird that it happened twice on the last bo5 match in the Worlds grand final
1:00 this is wrong. they beat BLG 2-0 in the swiss stage. They went through the LPL gauntlet 100 percent .
technically speaking it doesnt count … and “100% winrate against LPL in a bo5 at world” as a complete statement
they did face all 4 LPL teams but only 3 bo5 in 2023
@4thwall826 it does count
@@christophermauro-barias7451 T1 has not won against BLG on any Best of Fives as well (Mainly MSI).
So T1 and BLG has never faced each other in a BEST OF FIVE AT WORLDS "YET", before the finals match up
@HGKuroPhantom no but they beat all lpl teams at worlds last year so it's wrong
I love you Polypuff 😭 best league content creator keep being your beautiful self
12:57 knight bows twice to faker
Was he trolling or is that actual bm? Or joke
2022 - 2024 worlds are absolute cinema. For a lot of us who follow league for well over a decade now, there was never a more exciting time to watch worlds..
The kindred pick was so awesome to see c:
ZOFGK MICRO IS CRAZY
I think this roster is the best in LOL, when playing as a team, they shine with each other. The five players were perfectly in sync
Definitely the best worlds finals in a long time
I’m pretty sure faker didn’t cancel tp here because itd be a risk to dive a galio under tower 6:36
18:30 feel like sej didnt really try enough to prevent that engage considering they saw faker pretty early and rakan ulting also denies the whole engage as they would charm eachother
Why did he do absolutely nothing?
13:21 Faker limit testing even for 1 cs. Also, the timing has to be right after the E hits to get it.
16:58 Faker knows that they reset because Elk used his W the moment Faker walked up and faked pressure. It's just full on mindgames from Faker
Just finished watching. Really love this type of content from you, your touch of editing tickles my brain just right
20:38 Poppypuff confirmed?!?!?!
We all wanna see a 3peat. 🎉
great video.
I don't think Yagao BLG beats T1 at worlds in 2023
8:02 I believe they were intending to rush Herald but right as Faker tp's Herald got reset losing the chance to burn it down before BLG could stop them
8:30 well, the only difference between a play and an int is whether or not you make the other team confused enough to not punish you immediately, and, as the consequence, whether or not you success.
The 3 v 4 turnaround onto Knight was my favorite play of Worlds. That saved the game for T1
great video and analysis!!! :D
16:55 I think the moment Elk commits the Ziggs W early, Faker knew the others were at base since if the the two were still around, the W is vital for the cc chain
such a great video dawg
Congrats on the 2nd Worlds champ Poly!
thank you for actually highlighting blg's good plays as well
what's crazier about the faker sylas play in mid is that in their reviews of the series, both oner and keria said that they had no idea whether smolder and ziggs had flash up or not, they just decided they absolutely had to follow up with faker
6:36 wasnt it more that he would have died if he canceled the tp?
22:41 It wasn't ARAM because they wanted it, for T1 they were forcing BLG to stay so they miss bot wave (or risk getting dove)
good video, just a quick note, it was t1 vs the lpl not because of semis, but it was dubbed during quarters since t1 vs lng was the last game of quarters and at the time the 5 teams in the competition were t1 and the 4 lpl teams, eventually they beat lng and then it was t1 vs the 3 you mentioned. Also t1 beat blg in worlds 2023 in swiss 2-0 in a bo3
Great match. Best one this year actually.
polypuff should be at the next worlds.
Was that kill really game changing?
When i saw Smolder I stopped believing for a second it took luck and all of Faker skill to win with thaf draft there was no engage in the side of T1
I am far from a pro player nor am I a good analyst, but the moment I saw Bin TP to the ward in the second last fight, I immediately screamed in my heart that T1 need to notice that and re-engage the other three BLG members now or lose the game. I am fvcking glad they did right away.
gotta give Medic the props for learning and pronouncing the spells correctly and without stuttering cool small detail if you aren't paying attention enough
beautiful quote in the ending!
Excellent analysis, I´ll go ahead and subscribe for more
Huge Respect to BLG though, they're not just all talk, they're a very formidable team and gave us an amazing finals.
