  • I'm back with a half-face experiment to test the many and incredible benefits that retinol promises us all: wrinkle removal, a perfect skin glow, acne free, sun spots and hyperpigmentation fading. It's a lot! But will those benefits make a noticeable difference when applied to only half of my face?

      Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
      *What is the Gospel?*
      The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
      For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      Romans 10:9
      9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
      JESUS CHRIST can come anytime!

    hey B. so, your skin should slowly get use to retinol. When you just start to using it as a regular product it can damage your skin. And also the percentage of retinol in product is important. You should start with small dose like 0,5% concentration retinol, then when your skin is good with that, you can use higher percentage. Also, at the beginning you should use it in longer intervals, like one in two-three days. This is really powerful ingredient, so people should know the basics in order to not burn or damage their faces. Hope it's helpful ;)

    I just want to point out a few things. There is no one way to applying retinol. Different factors come in to play when talking about how and when to apply retinol bc it can be very different for everyone. Like the rule of applying it before or after your moisturizer? Mixing them together?? On damp or dry skin??? All good ideas! You just have to remember to execute them correctly, or your face will most def suffer. But if you're skin is anything like mine, very well adapted bc of regular retinol/retinoid use over the years, you really don't have to wait until your skin is fully dry before applying it. This is mainly good practice for those who are beginners in their retinol treatment or if you overall have sensitive skin. Allowing your face to dry up like so is going to help fight back any irritation, inflammation or redness or sensitivity that could occur bc your pores are simply closed up tighter.. allowing less product to absorb🤷🏼‍♀️ So me personally, I apply my retinol serum while my skin is still "damp".. and before my moisturizer. And I don't have any reaction. But again, this is not for everyone! I've been prepping my skin with retinol for years.. I just wanted to let people know there is more than one correct way when applying your retinol. All depends where your skin's at on the 'retinoid potency spectrum'🤷🏼‍♀️ except yes, always apply retinol at night, no matter. And apply a good spf the next day.. after you've washed it off in the morning. (A lot of poeople forget this step!) I hope this has made sense lol

      @sherbert85 Год назад +1

      @@_INVU_ I would not exfoliate the same night as applying my retinol. If you need to exfoliate, do it in the morning before. And yes after the shower! Like I said, if your skin isn't that sensitive or your face is just used to the potency.. then yes, you can apply your retinol while it's still damp. Just make sure you've applied all other serums before. Remember, if you're new to retinol or have sensitive skin, dry it up first!!😉

    I have been using retin a for about 4 years. My acne is completely gone, my discoloration is completely gone, I no longer need foundation and my nose black heads disappeared. • @_chapternumberone_8782
      @_chapternumberone_8782 2 года назад

      what do you mean tons of water? because you should always drink enough water and that depends on your body size, lifestyle and overall health. Drinking for example 3/4 litres of water if you never exercise, are very thin and have good immunity/ no illness is too much. Athletes could maybe drink that much. While drinking so much water, you are flushing out minerals from your body you need. its damaging your body. So please guys don‘t give in to this drink tons of water trend.

    Your skin turns over faster when you use retinol. Normally, it takes 28 days for your cells to turn, but because you are speeding it, you will have breakouts, and that's normal. I'm in my early 30s and I'm starting to notice laugh lines and forehead wrinkles. I don't mind them too much but I would like to delay them for a little while longer at least. With retinol I can clearly see that my wrinkles lessen when I use it daily. If I forget for a few days the wrinkles come back. It also lessens the bags forming under my eyes and dark circles. It doesn't erase them, but at least they're not as prevalent as they would be if I did nothing.

    retinol steps for beginners:
    - use retinol with maybe 0.3 - 0.5 percentage (especially if your skin is very sensitive) maximum is 1% over the counter. You can take a higher percentage after some months/ a year
    - do the sandwich method if you have sensitive skin (thin layer moisturizer, retinol and then moisturizer)
    - don‘t combine any actives like BHA, AHA, vitamin C etc. with retinol
    - use it on dry skin
    - start off with only once a week and then slowly use it more if your skin has adapted to it.
    - less is more: just spread a small amount on your face
    When it comes to retinol patience and consistency is key! But most importantly: listen to your skin

My pores are getting smaller, my face is glowing (almost glass skin now, and my complexion on my face are starting to even out (no more one side is darker, or lighter). The most important thing to do is drink water, use spf in the mornings and reapply too because your face is actually more sensitive to UV rays now. You might have purging of the skin, dry patches, and even skin shedding/flaking. Go to your dermatologist first because they should start you on low dosage first and then gradually go up as your skin get used to it. Just keep on applying it on your face.

As through having Acne a doctor would prescribe you Tretinoin and that she's not referring to the Retinol which can be bought over the counter. Canada obviously, I'm not aware of your standards regarding Tretinoin due to the increased amount:
      Obagi Tretinoin Cream 0.05% is a prescription topical skin cream treatment for acne vulgaris in the uk.

    You are so cute being so cautious of an active. I spend my night slathering all the actives together, against all advice. I have to say, Sunday truly good genes, the ordinary lactic acid, squalene, Dr jart ceramide cream, and dr Dennis gross intense chemical peel wipe things have changed my skin so it looks so much better.

    Retinol is usually used after your body stops producing most of the hormons causing acne - mainly in the young age and its mainly used for acne scars treatment. I don't think it will be very effective on acne prone skin and overall skin that's still producing acne but it might be beneficial for some indeed. Also its a long-term product so you probably wont be able to see any noticable effects on your skin just yet but the full retinol treatment should tend to be 10-12 weeks long depending on the skin damage.

    When I first started retinol, the very next day I woke up and my skin was smoother than it'd ever been. In one night!! The other effects, of course, happened over time. But the skin smoothing effect, like with exfoliants and many other products for me, happened immediately.

      @@sofiyafatma2498 I don't use eye creams so I have no recommendations about them. You could definitely use the neutrogena one under your eyes *if you tolerate it.* If too much irritation occurs then shy away from it and maybe seek an undereye-specific one. But some people in general just can't tolerate retinoids around the eyes; you don't know until you try.

    This was fun to watch and really interesting. One week is VERY short to expect results from ANY skincare., lol. Oh the impatience 😂. Also, you have used a pretty low retinol percentage in this. I think that product is .3% retinol. Neutrogena has a .5% serum and .3% cream, and I actually use them together. I have, unfortunately, disturbingly fair skin which is a skin type that is usually more sensitive than your very lovely skin colour (I have always wished I had that skin tone), and I’m 57 and it didn’t irritate my skin at all. It did get a bit scruffy looking after using it for four days, twice a day, and I was pissed, but I washed my face with a good old cheap, rough facecloth (far safer and better than ANY sandy scrub…never use those), and that takes off the dry skin flakes perfectly, and then I used Hyaluronic acid serum and good old Vaseline stirred up together as a mask to clean it up as well as Vichy’s Aqualia Thermal Night Spa which I use several nights a week now, and my regular skin care is a combination of La Roche Posay products and Vichy’s updated Neovadiol. I wouldn’t have expected this to irritate your skin even if you didn’t cushion the LRP retinol product with either a hyaluronic acid serum like Mineral 89 or HA cream or even if you hadn’t used any moisturizer first. You can apply a cushion first, especially when starting, then the retinol, then your regular moisturizer. Btw, skin care is very important to start on when you’re young. I honestly didn’t have any lines until last year just after I turned 57. I did go in the sun as a young adult, and my family has darker skin, except for me, so I never really got any sunburn in all those years. Or freckles, but I have always used the best skin care I could afford tailored for my skin. It really makes a difference. If you do that, you could possibly, like me, wait to have a gigantic panic attack at age 57 when you see strange lines and weirdness on your face. It was very unsettling, but I suppose I got away with it for a pretty decent amount of time. And honestly, I blame estrogen. I was in menopause from May 2014 until June 2022. No more hot flashes, but lines on my forehead and…thighs!! 😱😱😱

    It's working , the problem is your skin will get used to it so may actually give you reverse results , been there done that , what I corrected was the amount and the timing
    I do my routine normally then i take a dime size of retinol, mix it with my moisturizer apply it to my face every 2 to 3 days at night only considering I'm in my early 20 , it take time but still makes all the differences

      @enjymakram6482 2 года назад

      @@eyeamwema well your skin gets used to it or not at all, it could couse irritation , flaky skin, extreme dryness causing breakouts or even messes with your skin pigmentation ...
      It really could mess up the skin.
      It's better to use it consistently on large periods at first , then slowly increasing the dosage till you find your routine.
      More importantly to never forget sunscreen as the skin can get oxidised from the uv rays while on retinol

    Anyhow....I love this, you can see you have some minor breakouts on the side retinoid is not used.
    A week is nothing it won't show anything major even one month is not enough.

    I'd love to see the difference in the full 3 to 5 months.
