Such a simple message to listen to your body, I never used to and would end up with numerous, stubborn injuries. Today I am listening to my body and it's saying, this is Canada, it's snowing, stay indoors!!!
I’m very much enjoying your videos and your banter/musings, lots of things you say I can relate to and you often say things about cycling feelings and moods that others don’t mention. You’re keeping it real, thanks for that 👍
Sunday I went out as was such a lovely day sunny but windy in peranporth and Newquay that's the beauty of the weather in Cornwall keep up the good video's 👍
I'd love to ride there in those conditions. It's on my bucket list as of now! Thank you wholeheartedly for another outstanding video, and all the kind and caring thoughts both spoken and written. You're a gem!
Well done Amy, we don't always feel in the mood, at least you got a ride in the fog. I wasin thick fog this morning met a few drivers with x-ray vision going at stupid speeds. Enjoy your Sunday, hope you are feeling more enthusiastic next week.
Love your thoughts and they may be waffling but we lap it up. You tell us what we all think to ourselves. Here in Derbyshire on Monday was very foggy/misty but thought stick some lights on and get out. Rode for about 4 hours with enjoyable coffee stop (no cake). You're right about weather being like postal workers but at least we do get some delivered. Like everybody says get out and ride.
I live in swiss Normandy, as I climb I normally get fog, but as everything that goes up must come down I also get the big temperature changes. The fog feels like rain and is cold. Of late I have had 100 kilometres winds as well, my bike goes backwards at these times. Thank you for another video blogg I enjoy your broadcasts.
Well at least you got out on the bike, having been to Cornwall a few times I agree about the weather. For me rides this week Tuesday got soaked, Saturday warm, Sunday cold and fog what you'd get in a couple of hours.🤣 Have a good week.
Cornish weather is pot luck isn’t it 😆 Sounds like you’ve experienced 4/15 of the local delights in a week! Well done getting out. Hope you have a good week too 😊
I hope your recovery goes well. I destroyed my entire left shoulder in 2019, discovered gravel bikes, and parked my mtb for good. Take care and get well.
I rode my mtb for the first time in 8 weeks yesterday just in my street after crushing my leg at work, no broken bones just a night in hospital, they suspected I might have compartment syndrome but luckily it was just muscle trauma couldn’t bend my leg for about 5 weeks then it started coming back it’s amazing how much you take mobility for granted but hopefully I’ll be back to normal soon. I don’t use strava I rode with a friend that uses it once he said he didn’t normally ride the same trail twice because it messes up his Strava, I like finding good trails and riding them until I feel like I’ve nailed all the features at least haha. Cornish Fog is scary I drove from Newquay to Perranporth once couldn’t see anything!
Fantastic you got a ride in after a nasty sounding injury. Compartment syndrome and muscle trauma are immensely painful, maybe even worse than a break. Glad you’re on the mend 😊 Yeah Cornish mist fog is a special category isn’t it!
It’s the other way round up here in N Yorks yesterday was lovely I couldn’t go out I was busy but today I could go and of course it’s damp misty and miserable it’s great cycling in the uk 🚴♂️😂
Oh crikey, looks like my kind of route planning that ends up at naughty gates! Glad you got home safe, that mist was nuts!!! Any good gear in the pink bottle thingy? I might be hooked on all the drugs now… 🤪
Thank you. The mist was nuts!! Like being in a Steven King film 😆 Pink bottle thingy? Did nobody get my joke that it was the highlight of my ride because that was a pink highlighter I found in the bus shelter?! 🤦🏼♀️ 😅
@@amerridesbikes ohhhhhh man yes of course it was a highlighter. Wow I’m an actual addict now aren’t i, I thought it was some sort of drugs or vape thing. 🤪
Thank you! Wonder if we’ll get in (eeeek what have I done 🙈) I did enjoy my ride even though 17 miles felt like I’d done 100 when I got home. I hope you’ve had a good weekend too 😊
I’m the same with coffee. Bloody love it, but it doesn’t love me. fml! My wife drinks boatloads with the sweet smell of heaven wafting over to me… meanwhile, I’m crying into a cup of tea😭
It’s the best drug but also one of the worst because it’s so socially acceptable to do in the day time but also so temperamental! I’m not doing well giving it up, just being honest 🙈
That was lovely and random, perfect randomness! Interestingly I was up at Blackpool pit last week (trying to buy their water off them - we’re running out you know!) and recognised a few bits of that route from then (the road along the top, that then goes down to Foxhole!) - but I don’t know that route back down to Gover, looks interesting (despite being in the dodgy area of a dodgy town!). Well done getting out - am hoping to do similar today! (Only the weather looks a bit better!)
There is a tiny trail that heads down into gover road from the back of trewoon way it’s really fun! Didn’t do it yesterday but it’s definitely still there somewhere. Did you get any water in the end??
How do you keep your glasses mist-free in those conditions? I have prescription glasses and whenever it’s very foggy here (San Francisco-area, so not uncommon), I can’t keep the glasses clear.
It was funny actually they did steam up when I stopped but it at all whilst riding. Funnily enough I was thinking about Asan Francisco fog at the time and wondering how you coped! Thanks for sharing your fog related dramas 😀🙏🏼
Which route is the 3T coast to coast Amy? Did a search but couldn't find it mentioned. Looks an interesting route, and the coast to coasts in Cornwall are short! Keep riding and chatting 😊
Great vid, I love the randomness of the weather in this. Is that your bottom bracket creaking away while your pedal or your legs and back from bouldering? 🤣
Jury’s out, could be either 😆 It’s actually the pedals. They’re Dave’s old ones and they’re totally jammed the right one barely spins at all. Cycling would just be too easy otherwise 🙈 At least it’s not the actual bike …
“‘15 types of weather, we’ve got it all” Love it, love your videos!! Well done maid!!
Thank you lovely 😊 We’ll have to do a proper bike vid one day ✊🏼👊🏼✊🏼 🏍
Such a simple message to listen to your body, I never used to and would end up with numerous, stubborn injuries. Today I am listening to my body and it's saying, this is Canada, it's snowing, stay indoors!!!
That’s good listening and sound advice. Gotta look after ourselves 😊
Nice way to spend my Tea break at work. Never get bored of you faffing around down there 😎
Haha thank you Richard. I’ll be faffing around soon enough again no doubt 😊
@@amerridesbikes look forward to it, need to find out where the best coffee in Newquay is so i can check it out! 😎

Thank you so much Tony, I really appreciate your feedback 😊

Thank you! Sunday was lovely wasn’t it! They definitely delivered the best day of the weekend a day late 😀
I'd love to ride there in those conditions. It's on my bucket list as of now!
Thank you wholeheartedly for another outstanding video, and all the kind and caring thoughts both spoken and written. You're a gem!
Ah thank you so much Charles 😊 Yes you must experience riding in the crazy random fog it is a trip!
Well done Amy, we don't always feel in the mood, at least you got a ride in the fog.

Enjoy your Sunday, hope you are feeling more enthusiastic next week.
Thank you Terry 😊Let’s hope I am I’ve got a lot of training to do now! Crazy fog and crazy drivers are a bad combination I’m glad you made it round

Oh I did enjoy my time living in Derbyshire, wonderful place even in the fog. Four hours is a good ride, chapeau :)
Mist and fog are no joke, can be dodge at times! Am listening to my body right now and enjoying a beer! 👍🏻🤣
Good on you Pierre 🍻

Yes it’s been that windy here too. Well done riding in it! Crazy old weather

looks like the Peak District in the middle of summer :)
Ah I miss the Peak District at any time of year
Highlighter even matched your hat!! 😂😂😂 you made the literary lol!!
Yesss I love a literary lol 😆
You're ride went better than mine as I crashed spent 4 hours in Hospital and have damaged my Rotator Cuff. Keep up the random videos
I hope your recovery goes well. I destroyed my entire left shoulder in 2019, discovered gravel bikes, and parked my mtb for good. Take care and get well.
Oh no Ian I hope you’ll be ok. Rotator cuffs can be too easily damaged. Rest up and feel better soon
Yes please help Amy and I to do Badlands! (Assuming we get an entry) as we have lots of important reasons for doing this event!!
We like random videos, keem em coming 👍🚴
Random is my forte! Thank you Ged 😊

Nice video looking fantastic ,great to see you out and about well done chuck 👍
Thank you so much Andrew, I’ll be back again soon 😊
Giving up coffee but having 3T - That was my highlight!😂
3T is back, coffee is out, I can’t even keep up with myself Tony 🙈😆

I agree with another comment here, there's no shame in cutting the ride short when you're just not feeling it. Recharge and ride again another day.
Agreed!
Good luck with your Badlands entry 🙌🏻 weather aside, every ride is a ✅

Time on bike and some quality footage🙂. Thanks for sharing and I always struggle with mapping rides too! I blame Komoot and being rubbish.
Thanks Chas 😊 I CANNOT get on with Komoot route planning. Often use their pre-planned rides but can’t make it work myself!
👌
😊🤘🏼
Enjoyable random chat on a saddle ~
Thank you 😊
Always good to see you, hope you enjoyed your cake 😊
The cake was delicious thanks and I did feel I’d earned it 🍰😊

I still like all the lanes & paths around there. Although it seems the weather forecasts around Cornwall are an ongoing bait-and-switch.
They just make it up as they go along in my experience 😆 ☀️ 🌧🌪

Thank you 😊 I was on some of the mid Cornwall clay trails. My bike is a 3T, sorry for any confusion!
What glasses are those? Love your style.
They’re Solo by Alba Optics and I love them 😎
Nice glasses, what kind are they?
Thanks I love them 😎 They’re solo, by Alba Optics
Happy to subscribe! Lots of adventures to come? Only your speaking tempo is sometimes too fast for me as a Dutchman ;-)
Ah thank you Meneer 😊 Sorry I am a speedy chatter 🙈
What's in the fuscia colored squeeze bottle? Don't have a clue.
The highlighter pen in the bus stop? 🤔
Nothing worse than a Clinging Mist! 😀
